Knock knock

A man with salt-pepper hairs, sitting behind the laptop, on the head chair in the office, smiled and yelled," Come in, Aarav." Then closed the file, on which he had been working and leaned back at the chair, he stood up as a handsome young man in his late twenties entered inside the room with a smile on his handsome face.

"Good morning Mr. Parker." Aarav held his hand out and Mr. Parker grabbed it intensely then gave it a slight shake with a huge smile plastered on his wrinkled face.

"Good morning Dr. Aarav. Please have a seat." Aarav nodded his thanks then took a seat across him and sat down.

"Daisy told me that you wanted to meet me." Mr. Parker handed the file over to him, which he had just closed before calling him inside the office.

"Here." Aarav took the file then opened it, thinking it's a file related to some important patient. But put it back on the desk when he read the content written in it with a frown on his face.

"Sorry, Sir. But have I done something wrong? Why are you transferring me to an another hospital?" The panic and confusion was clearly showing in his voice. It was normal for him to panicked because few days ago he had awarded as the best doctor in this hospital.

Mr. Parker smiled," Why do you think that, son? It's not your demotion. I'm promoting you as a new Head doctor in my another hospital. These are the papers of your ownership of that hospital."

Aarav's jaws hit the floor in shock. He had been working here from last 5 years and never saw his boss that happy. Mr. Parker smiled at his shocked face then pushed the file back in his direction.

"Sign it Son." Then gave him an uncapped pen.

Aarav shook his head then put the file away," Sorry Sir. But can you tell me, why are you doing this? I mean, you know that I respect you as my father but this is too much. I'm grateful for you for always standing by my side, for being there whenever I have needed you but why this?" Then blew a breath," I can't understand it." Aarav shrugged his shoulders while shaking his head in no.

Mr. Parker knew that this task would take long time and he had prepared for it from the starting.," You know that I love you as my own Son, right?"

Aarav nodded at him with a smile," Then it's my right to give you gifts. Take it son. Consider it as your gift for saving my daughter's life."

Aarav massaged his forehead then wipe his palm over his lips with a sigh," I am always available for her and you know that. It was nothing. I love her and her happiness is my priority. But__"

Mr. Parker leaned forward then placed a hand over Aarav's shaking one, which he had put on the desk and gave it few pats," I know that and I'm always proud of you. But now you also have to focus on your career", Then nodded in the file's direction, "and that Hospital is in a bad condition. It needs someone responsible and for me, you're the most responsible person. Don't let me regret my decision." He ended the sentence with a plea. He just wanted him to be a successful person.

"But_"

"No buts. And it's final. I know that you'll do your best. Beside I'm always here for you." With that Mr. Parker stood up and walked up to him. Aarav followed his lead and stood up then welcomed the warmth of a fatherly hug with blurring eyes.

"It's time to let this world know that my Son is one of the best Doctors in the world." Aarav nodded at his chest then mumbled a small YES. He couldn't believe his voice. It's really hard for him to stop working at this place, where he had uncountable good and bad memories. And the most important part, a man who loved him like a son.

"I'm goi-ng to miss you, Mr. Par-ker." Mr. Parker patted his back.

"Me too, Son. Me too."

"Do you know that tomorrow our new Head doctor is coming?" A young lady in blue uniform of nurse asked her colleagues. As the group of 5-6 females group sat in the corner, taking a small break.

"Is he handsome?"

"How old is he?"

"Damn, I need a handsome hunk to date. Please God, he must be handsome." The whole corridor was filled with their gossips and fantasies when a young handsome hunk approached them but stood at the distance. All the nurses stopped talking as their eyes fell on him. Their gazes roamed over his lustrous body, watching him from head to toe, licking their dry lips as their throat suddenly feel dry.

"Excuse me mam." The guy cleared his throat, trying to snap them out of their daydreaming. But they were more busy with hawking his body like a piece of meat. The guy smirked initially, fully aware of his impact on those wild cats. He loved that attention.

"DON'T YOU HAVE WORK?!" A shout came from the distance, pulled the nurses out of their naughty thoughts and they turned to glare at the killer of their dreams. But quickly averted their gaze as a gorgeous lady in her late 40s entered the hall calmly but shooting daggers from her eyes.

"Just move on." As these words escaped from that lady's mouth, the whole corridor was cleared in a second. The lady shook her head in disapproval then turned back to that handsome guy. For a second, she was also lost in his beauty but that guy was same as her son's age and she shook her head, indeed the guy was hunk but it was not appropriate for her. She gazed him for few seconds and sighed, if the guy was around her age then she might flirt with him.

With a smile and professional way, she approached the smiling guy and apologised him in warm yet professional manner," Sorry for that Sir. It happens when these girls saw a handsome hunk like you."

The guy smiled in response as she asked," So, How can I help you? Are you here to meet someone?"

The guy rubbed the back of his neck, nervously," Sorry Mam. I was just wondering around."

The lady looked at him like he was joking. For God's sake! It's a hospital, not some kind of playground or a mall." It's not a garden, Young Man."

" Yeah but I like the architecture of this hospital and thought to see it from inside."

The lady rolled her eyes initially but still nodded at him," Ok. Then continue your tour. But don't make any noise and you're forbidden from entering inside any room. If you did that then I would kick you sorry ass out by myself." The lady smirked at his shocked face then turned around on her heels and disappeared behind the walls where she had came from.

"It's going to be fun!" The guy rubbed his hands together, excitedly and with a satisfied smile on his handsome face, he walked out to continue his tour.

"EMILY!!! Why are you standing there?! I told you to clean this whole path. Just do it quickly." The same lady yelled at her subordinate. She was a head nurse in this very hospital and the strict one also. It's her duty to prepared the whole hospital for welcoming their new head doctor, who happened to be the new boss of that hospital as well.

Emily paled to see her mistake and flew away to correct it as soon as possible. She couldn't take a risk of angering the head nurse.

After 30 minutes, the head nurse looked around at her surrounding with her hands over her hips then smiled to see everything perfect, clean and refreshing. Boss is going to impress. She thought then looked over at all of her staff.

"Guys, our new Boss will be here in few minutes and Please do your best to impress him." She stopped then moved her gaze over the group of young nurses," Maybe he select one of you to be his assistant. All the best, young ladies.!"

All the young nurses started applauding her with hooting," Ok ok. Just stop it. And get back to your works." With that all of them took their respective positions as the main door of the hospital was opened by doormen and came inside a young man, Aarav.

The whole hall was deadly silent as the nurses watched a familiar hunk walking inside their hospital with a naughty smirk playing on his lustrous lips, with wide open eyes. Their mouths touched the floor as Aarav removed his black sunglasses and winked at the shocked head nurse.

"Hello Mam." He used the same tone to greet that beautiful lady stood by him.

The head nurse shook her head then laughed out aloud," hahahaha Welcome Sir. Welcome to our Hospital." Then gave a beautiful bouquet to him which she held safely in her arms.

Aarav took that and mumbled a small thanks to her then to others for this warm welcome.

"Do you want me to give you a tour?" The head nurse asked in a teasing manner as she proceed to lead him to his office.

Aarav shook his head," No mam. I_"

"Nancy. Call me Nancy." Nancy introduced herself.

"Ok Nancy. I don't need it now. But bring me all of the necessary information related to our staff and also the files of serious patients."

"Sorry, Sir. But_"

"Call me Aarav." Aarav said as they stopped outside his new office.

"I have never called my boss by their names but you're like my son. So ok then. But I'm not your assistant. Just choose one of these young ladies for that task." Nancy said while pointing a finger towards the group of nurses stood at the little distance away from them.

"No Nancy. Yesterday I came here to get my assistant and I have decided that you're going to be my assistant."

"But_"

"No buts. It's an order. Am I clear?" Nancy looked over at pouting nurses then turned back to Aarav with a sigh.

"Sure." Aarav smiled then pushed open the door of his office.

"Good. Now go and get me what I have asked for." With that he slipped inside but not before hearing loud curses from those nurses, who had been waiting to eat him alive.

"Ok. So I have read all of these files. And as I read, every serious patient has their own specific doctor. That's great. Tomorrow I'll take a tour to every patient to know about their views for our Hospital. Ok?" Aarav informed Nancy after closing the last file which he had been reading. He glanced at the wall clock, showing 9'o clock in the evening. The whole hospital was deadly silent as few of the staff members staying behind at theirs night shift.

Nancy yawned then rubbed her eyes, her sift was ended a long ago but she wanted help Aarav on his first day, So she stayed behind for him.

"I'm sorry for making you stay after your sift." Aarav apologised and stood up after closing the laptop.

"It's ok. Today is your first day and I'm glad that you're serious about your job." Aarav gave her his signature smile, which make anyone go insane because of his dimples showed clearly.

"Then let me grab you some dinner." Aarav offered but Nancy shook her head and decline him politely.

"I'm sorry. But my son would be at home, waiting for me. We have our dinner together."

"You're a great mom. Ok then. I'm calling it night and meet you tomorrow. Take care." Aarav smiled and was about to walked out when Emily barked in worried.

"Sorry to disturb you, Sir. But we have an emergency. A couple of young guys caught into an accident and one of them has banged his head pretty bad. And Dr. Davis, our neuro specialist is not available right now." Emily informed them while rubbing her hands together in nervousness.

"Then what are you doing here? Just take that guy in the operation theatre and prepare for the operation. Aarav ordered Emily then turned back to Nancy.

And you, go to the other guy and see what is his condition.

Ok Sir. Both of the nurses parted on their own ways and get on their respective works.

It's going to be a long night. Aarav sighed then exchange his coat with doctor's and walked towards the operation theatre.
