● Chapter 6: Gravitational sickness
After nearly a month of flying in the grand pitch black space, The Q-ship arrived at its destination.
The Black Order navigated their circular ship as a quick vehicle for transportation from planet to planet, and this time, the Dark Lord - Thanos, has arrived back to his domain after collecting information about Earth's data. But most importantly, he brought himself a little Earthian - (Y/n). The girl proved to be a little thing, she was calm yet polite despite her sheer surprise of being surrounded by space with various alien-like people whom she never met.
The Journey from Terra and back into the deep cosmos went unnoticeable. Dark Lord, Thanos, conqueror of the universe, was humbly greeted back to his throne. And just as the Black Order's arrival was attended - dreadful news followed by.
"Great Thanos!" - All of a sudden, one of the personal attendants shakily scrambled into the throne room, their expression hastened. Bowing down before the Mad Titan, they feared the worst of announcing the news that might disturb his supremacy. "My humble personage bows before your grandeur, I-I'm unfortunate to be the person to declare the terrible news from General Maw... err,"
Thanos glared at the messenger with a grimace, His callous eyes devoid of any emotion. "What is it that you have to tell? Speak up."
"The Earthian..." - they stammered "She got extremely sick."
(Y/n)'s stomach felt like a bag being vigorously squeezed. She experienced great nausea and revulsion inside her, as with a heaving lurch of her stomach, another small mouthful of bile dribbled from her quivering lips into the waiting pool of rancid vomit. attendants and medics were surrounding the poor child, as she was tucked into a new personal quarter.
Once the medics and auxiliary were informed by General Maw who noticed (Y/n)'s odd condition, they immediately transferred the Terran into a private quarter for her to relax while they attend her condition. Thus they discovered, the child was currently experiencing great Gravitational sickness. Upon arrival at Thanos' domain, the sudden change in g-forces affected (Y/n)'s spatial orientation.
Shortly after hearing the news - Thanos arrived.
The medics rapidly acknowledge his presence, as they noticed his dark eerie eyes twitch once he spotted (Y/n)'s smaller figure lie in bed. Various medicines along with a glass of water laid beside her on the bedside table. They shortly informed him the symptoms and current condition of the Terran child, but instead, Thanos dismissed them.
"I command everyone to leave the room. This instance."
Not risking their lives, people fled the place, fearing the menacing tone of the Titan. He made sure that no individual lingered any longer as they obeyed his command; In his position, it is simply mercy. Once the room was silent, The Mad Titan eased his frown and turned to his daughter: "Little one..."
(Y/n) groaned weakly in response; waves of heat coursed through her blood, a cold sweat glistened in her gaunt features. She was awake but there was a listless to her and her chest heaved more quickly than it should to bring in the air. Thanos sat beside her at the edge of the bed, his hand brushing her forehead delicately to feel any temperature. "There're no more foreign doctors frightening you anymore, you can tell me what is wrong."
Thanos knew what was wrong - Space adaptation sickness was getting stronger within (Y/n)'s systems, but the worried Titan wanted to double-check from (Y/n) herself since he knew that he reclusive behavior towards strangers could only make her condition worse. (Y/n) tried to sit up. It was the first time in 5 hours she'd had a moment to move, but it only brought a bigger wave of nausea to her vision. The poor girl whimpered quietly.
"Ssshh...It's alright. Lay down."
she did, slowly, finally opening her eyes - "...My head feels dizzy."
"Gravitational sickness," - Thanos glanced at the medicine besides (Y/n). "Medicine's effect should kick in soon. It will pass soon."
"I..-" The child adjusted her eyesight as visual illusions were taking a stroll on her. Her vestibular system kicking from heaviness and back to weightlessness. "I'm sorry, sir, I really didn't want to make you worry."
"Oh, Little one." - with a tender touch, Thanos gently patted her messy (hair-color), reassuring her some comfort "Your health and wellbeing are the most important thing. You shouldn't be silent about these matters."
But for now, (Y/n) could only endeavor the strong revulsion, her body demanding more sleep - "Thank you..."
Thanos watched wistfully, as the girl cuddled closer into the blankets, her eyes falling asleep every now and then. It hurt him to see her in such a miserable condition, similarly to the day when he found her on Earth. Thanos took that with great over-bear - within those lovely smiles of hers and florid cheeks, he saw great potential. With the just right tutoring and disciplinary, he could see her being the smartest individual who follows her Father's steps. Even if she was physically weaker than the rest - she was his daughter nonetheless.
"You'll be alright, I give you my word. It will only take a day or two. Then your body will slowly adapt to the environment around you..." - He whispered, knowing that in these painful moments, she needed a person beside her "Besides, we're no longer flying in open space."
Despite sleep was winning over, (Y/n) still tried to open up her eyes - "Are we on a new planet?
"Not exactly...But it is a place in which you may call it a 'Home'."
"H o m e... Okay." - With weak attempts, her eyes were filled with a kindness that seemed so innocent, so endless. "I thought we came to a new planet and my stomach would flip upside down and, and just...ugh"
For (Y/n) - happiness is simple. As long as there's an uplifting knowledge that her Grand Titan has life all taken care of - she'll always be appreciative. Even currently, with her fatigue condition. she looked far better than the lost girl in the dark woods. But still, no matter the odds, she didn't dare to reveal what happened to her on Terra.
"Back on earth... When I just found you, you said you cannot stay there any longer. But you never told me what happened. (Y/n), how did you get there?" - But (Y/n) could only peer at him with tears at the verge of falling. "Perhaps you don't want to address it."
"... N-no. I'm sorry..."
The trembling frown on the Terran was clear - it's a traumatic subject to even talk about with her. She didn't tell anyone, nor Maw or Thanos, about her life on Earth, as if it was a forbidden past. But Thanos understood her struggles, he just didn't want to press on with her mentality.
"Alright. How about.." - he turned to face her, taking her smaller palm in his "We take turns. I tell you one thing about myself. And in return, you do the same?"
"Alright?"
"I -" Thanos began, looking out to the wall "Was born on Titan. A beautiful planet with the most gorgeous sky... very much like your Earth. But when I was just your age... my life was cruel."
With wide eyes, (Y/n) found clear interest in what her adoptive father was saying. She never heard of 'Titan' and never even imagine the grand Titan being young about her age. "Now your turn, little one."
"Oh I- um, I was born in (your-country). I lived there with my parents and I really loved it there... But then, things went v-very horrible later on."
She shivered violently in the humid room. Now that her stomach had stopped lurching she merely felt bruised inside. She could barely hold on to herself before letting her tears fall and her voice to break. (Y/n) let her troubles spill out to Thanos, who immediately scooped her smaller form to cuddle into him.
"You should no longer trouble yourself about Earth. You're now safe." - he lulled her quietly, easing her body from her weeps and muffled sobs as she clenched into his chest. "Your home is my home, and as your Father, it is in my duty to take care of you."
"Father?"
"Yes, your Father."

Bit by bit, Thanos and Reader will learn about each other's past. At least now, trust has finally been built up.
As in for today's inspiration - my nausea. I get travel dizziness pretty often (even tho I travel all the time) but the worst scenario was at home when my head was spinning so violently I thought my soul would literally fly out of me.
