65 - Homesick

Dinner tonight was very quiet. Usually, you would be talking about what you did and share low-key disturbing information on the other Tenjiku member, information that only god should probably know.

But tonight, you had been eating quietly with a blank stare. Izana and Kakucho were very worried about it. They even gave you dessert, but you refused and took a shower and holed yourself up in your room.

"(Y/N). what's wrong?" Izana asked in concern as he sat down at the edge of the bed. You didn't answer and just curled up under the blanket. "(Y/N)... if something's wrong you can tell me. I'll solve it for you."

You shook your head, still keeping your mouth shut and not facing the boy. You just didn't have the energy to. You've seen the future and you've been thinking of ways to prevent it, and right now, your mind still kept on repeating their deaths.

But unlike the last time, this vision only showed their death, no glimpse of a future, just the present. This is why this situation is quite stressful. You don't know the outcome of that present, if you aren't careful, the future might be worst than the other one. [HAH]

The clue you had for this time is that Izana dies because he got shot and Emma... was the same.

"(Y/N)..." Izana placed a hand on your shoulder, giving you a little shake, but he got no answer. He didn't know how to deal with this, in fact, the way he was thinking of would just make you hate him, so he's holding himself back from lashing out.

So all he did was scoop you up, duvet and all, and took you in a small comforting hug.

"My fairy, please grant me a wish." He said, using your nickname from childhood. You hummed, a sign for him to continue, "Please let me see my fairy's face."

A small smile presented itself on Izana's face as he watched slowly wriggle out of your cocoon, showing him your face as he wished. And from the looks of it, you were quite upset with something. Although he can't point it out.

If this something was a person, then he won't hesitate to kill them.

"If someone's bothering you, you can tell me to take care of them." Izana announced with a cheery tone. "Or if you want to do it yourself, you can do it too! Or if you want to mobilize the whole gang, I'll give you full authority. Or just take the heavenly kings if you want."

"No... it's not someone." You answered with a quiet tone, keeping your eyes on the covers. "I... was just thinking."

"Of what?"

"...something..."

Izana knew that you weren't going to say anything more than that. No matter how hard he tries, you wouldn't say a thing about it unless you really felt like it. Kakucho has warned him many times to not overstep your boundaries or else you'll hate him. He's following what Kakucho said and is trying to respect your privacy. That is why he gave you his room and he's sleeping in the living room with an extra futon.

But at times, he gets the urge to want to monopolize you and in those times, he has to completely shut his thoughts away or he might act upon it. I mean, to his eyes, you were his perfect fairy. Who wouldn't want someone smart and cute to be completely theirs and theirs alone?

"Kakucho is making tea, he says it helps calm down anxiety and helps you sleep."

"Peppermint." You muttered, guessing the tea that Kakuchow was preparing with perfect accuracy.

Your words seemed to have been some kind of magic chant as Kakucho suddenly entered the room, holding to a bed tray with three cups on top. You sat up straight, taken in by the smell of the tea.

"I got the tea." Kakucho turned on the lights and made his way over to your bed, carefully placing the tray and making sure that it was stable so that it doesn't spill. He could see your excitement and couldn't help but chuckle at your face. 'Well, at least she looks better than this afternoon.'

Kakucho took a cup and handed you one, Izana taking his own.

'It's warm...' You held the warm cup between your hands, watching as the smoke rises up, not noticing the concerned gazes of the two guys. It was only then you realized just how cold your fingers were, perhaps it was just the cold, or maybe your fear and anxiety catching up. '...I can change it. The future can still be changed. The vision I saw changed, that means something changed in this present for that to happen... I just have to find a way to prevent those deaths... I just... have to...'

You raised the cup to your lips and carefully took a sip. The moment the sweet and refreshing taste touched your tongue, you felt a bit energized.

Izana and Kakucho smiled when they saw a small bit of brightness shine in your eyes when you drank the tea. It seems that the tea that Kakucho chose helped you a lot. Well, he can still remember how much sweets always used to brighten your day back when you three were younger.

"Thanks... I'll sleep now." You placed the cup back down on the tray, returning below the covers. "I'm fine now... thanks for the tea... good night."

The two were still worried, but considering that you didn't turn your back on them and even bid them goodnight, they decided to stop worrying for now.

"Alright. I'll clean this up." Kakucho took the tray and left the room, leaving Izana with you.

"I'll stay here until you sleep." Izana stated with a gentle tone, running his hand through your hair. You nod, scooting closer to him, leaning your head on his leg. "Good night, (Y/N)."

There was silence for a few moments as you thought of words to tell. Izana was not going to like this, but it's a good time to see just how much he can tolerate you. If he gets mad, calming him down is going to be easy with you and Kakucho being here.

"Izana... I..." You muttered, keeping your face down. "I... miss my friends."

"Hm. I see." Izana's eye twitched in annoyance at the mention of your friends. So it was them who were making you sad like this. If he could, he would kill them right now. But wouldn't that make you sadder? "Don't worry... I'll get them for you."

It was obvious to the boy that you were homesick, missing your friends. And they were the reason that you had been frowning all this afternoon and were the reason for you to have pushed Izana away earlier.

It seems that he'll have to consult Kisaki for a plan to gain your friends without having to upset you.

"You want to go to her house?" Chifuyu asked with a raised brow, wondering why Takemichi came to him with such a strange suggestion. He just got out of school when Takemichi appeared out of nowhere. "(Y/N)-san's house?"

"Yes!" Takemichi nodded vigorously. "It's (Y/N)-chan!! Do you really think that she would betray Mikey so easily!?"

"I mean..." Chifuyu didn't know how to reply to that since he didn't really know you as (Y/N). But Takemichi did have point. Chifuyu knew you as Kashi and out of anyone, you were the most loyal and obedient. "She does have blind loyalty to Mikey... but didn't you say that she's been friends with Izana?"

"But... If you were (Y/N)-chan; would you betray your savior for a childhood friend?" Takemichi gripped Chifuyu's shoulder tightly with an earnest look. This question was easy to answer considering your personality. "(Y/N)-chan wouldn't leave without a reason!"

Chifuyu sighed, removing his friend's hand from him. He doesn't know why Takemichi was so convinced by the fact that you didn't betray Toman. He heard from Takemichi himself that you declared your betrayal, but now he's saying that you didn't betray them?

But... Takemichi is also correct. From the stories he heard from the boy about the you of the future, you had always been the one behind the downfall of their enemy.

"Alright. Let's go." Chifuyu nodded, making Takemichi smile in delight. He was actually so nervous that he wouldn't agree and he'll have to do this alone, and well, Takemichi isn't really the brightest person in the room. "But... do you know where she lives?"

Kashi's identity and personal life have been a giant mystery within the gang. No one really knows who he is or where he lives, all he knew was that he and the other Toman founders has been friends for a while and that he was the smartest out of all of them.

The only ones who would know anything about you are, of course, the founders. But two of them are in jail, one is dead, and the rest are harboring negative feelings. So there go their chances.

But to their surprise, it was actually very easy. Well, easy in a way that it took them two hours of searching. How did they do it? Well, all they did was search the houses near the Sano household. Since they know that you always go to their house to go to school together.

"Viola, the (L/N) household." Chifuyu presented the house with a proud smile. House is a far fetched, the first floor was an izakaya and the house is most likely on the second floor. "(Y/N)-san left her motorcycle here."

"So, how are we going to go inside?" Takemichi asked, staring at the house. He can't just go inside like he owns the place, your parents might get angry if he does. "Maybe we should-"

"What? More Toman brats." The two boys flinched in surprise, slowly turning their heads to the door where a woman stood, looking at them like they were shit on her house. "I already told you breath that she ain't coming back. And I ain't got no clue where she is."

The woman was fairly tall and it was obvious from her face that she was related to you. But the way she was speaking without any care in the world made them realize just what kind of a woman this was.

"If you're going to be annoying then go up to her room. I've got customers to tend to." The woman got back inside, leaving the door open for the two boys.

They didn't know why she would let them inside when they were just strangers, but since she knew that they were from Toman, they didn't think much about it. They got inside, walking past the restaurant and over to the back where the woman told them to go.

They got upstairs, looking around for where your room might be. There might be some clues hidden in there. There were only four doors, and one of them was obviously yours, evident from the plaque hanging by the door, which was surprisingly cute.

"Alright. We're here." Takemichi muttered with a hopeful smile. There are bound to be clues that might help them. "Let's go."

Takemichi took hold of the knob, giving it a small twist. He gulped, he was nervous. What if there was actually nothing and you really have turned to the other side. If you did, then they came here for nothing.

The door gave a small creak as it opened.

And... there was something they didn't expect.

The whole room was a mess, with papers thrown everywhere and a strange board by the dresser. And... the one in the middle of the room, screaming in agony as she read through a notebook... was someone they know well.

"...Emma-chan?"
