Then So Be It

She was pushed down onto her knees, handcuffs and blindfold off, as the safety lock on the gun clicked open. The bidders and Foxes, especially Soryu, watched painfully as the gun was pointed to the back of her head.
The executioner's finger was no he trigger, about to pull with no hesitation.
"What do we do?! It's about to." "In five seconds..." they heard the executioner mutter, interrupting Angel's question.
Hiro's girlfriend, Mica came along. And so did Angel, Samantha and Cecilia.
Sakura's back was turned to them, and she was lifting her head a little to meet with the gun that was pressed to the back of her head. But as she heard the man sigh and guessed that his finger was on the trigger, she suddenly felt herself pushed off the little platform.
For a moment, her vision was a bit shaky.
But then everything shifts back into focus with a bang. But it wasn't her who received the bullet. She could hear a loud shout of agony and pain and turned to see Soryu down, clutching his chest, and she saw the executioner with wide eyes.
She could see red for a moment and within seconds the man was knocked out with Sakura pointing a gun to his head. "This fucker..." she mutters with shaking hands before she drops the gun adn runs to Soryu's side.
He was still groaning from the pain and she screamed when she saw the red stain beginning to appear on his silver suit jacket. She collapses to her knees beside him, moving his hands from the wound and applying pressure to it to stop the bleeding.
But by the way the crimson liquid stained the pristine silver of his suit, she could tell she wasn't doing much help. Tears beginning to form in her eyes, she slowly moves her arms to around his neck pulling him into a hug.
She begins to whisper his name, making the man fall quiet as he listens to her uneven breath and shaky whispers. "Soryu... Soryu... Please, God... Stay with me, Soryu..."
"Sakura..." he mutters, wrapping his arms weakly around her. He mutters her name over and over like she was whispering his name. But she realizes that at this point, she wasn't sobbing anymore, because she could feel his strong arms tighten around her even more, making his blood stain her own clothing. But right now, she couldn't give more than two fucks about that.
She could feel his large, slightly bloody hands cradle her face, his hands gently wiping her hair back from her face. But as much as Soryu wanted to say something, he couldn't speak either. At this point, the only things he could feel anymore was the blood pumping out of him with each weak heartbeat, permanently staining the pristine silver of his suit red and the unending happiness of seeing her alive and well.
But then he hears her words change from his name to actual different words. "You fool, you fool..." she mutters, "What have you done...?" she asks quietly, almost to herself, as tears begin pooling in her eyes again.
He was able to hold his hand up to her face, to caress her cheek, but now she's the one to hold his hand to her cheek. As a silent plea that it only he had the strength to keep his hand there, then he would be fine, that he would recover. She was sure she's seen worse, she must have, he couldn't-
She pressed her lips to his, not with the fleeting feel of wings grazing his lips, but solid and affirming, desperate and searching. She could remember they shared an almost similar kiss back then. Back in graduation, and now she could remember:

"Congrats, Soryu..." she smiled softly, looking into his eyes. "You too, Sumiko..." he muttered with pink cheeks as he thought about the move he was about to do.
She was about to start talking when he suddenly leaned down and pressed a small, feather-light kiss on her lips, making her jump back slightly and blush. "O-Oh...?" she muttered his last name with pink cheeks.
"Y-Yeah?" he said awkwardly, looking away slightly. "Did you just...?"
"Soryu! We need to go!" Eisuke yells and Soryu turns and greets her farewell before jogging back up to Eisuke who was waiting outside Sakura's house with a smirk. Sakura held the button Soryu had given her earlier as she kept on touching her lips, still feeling the lingering warmth from his own.
But before her mind could wander on, she saw the same blonde from school who had received Soryu's second button in the limo, grabbing Soryu and pulling him into the limo beside her. Eisuke waved to her before climbing in.
Tears gathered in her eyes again as she turned away once more, reminding herself that he had someone else but... no.
"He's playing with me, isn't he?"
~*****~
As she kissed him, she felt warm inside but...
Only this time, unlike back in high school, it's not the warmth from his lips leaving, it's the warmth from his body leaving, slowly. The bittersweet tang of metal lingers on as she presses her lips to his hand as well, which she was clutching, reluctant to let go.

He was pronounced dead on the scene after paramedics arrived, the bullet apparently, hitting his heart. And it's been a week since then, but Sakura was in her hotel suite, back in Tres Spades, still replaying the man's words.
"He's dead." "He died." "He's gone..."
But this past week, everyone was treating her coldly, just the bidders as the Foxes disappeared from the picture after that. But everyday, Samantha, Cecilia, Angel and Mica would stop by her suite, trying to talk to her, only to end up with fruitless efforts.
As the girls left once more after hearing nothing in Sakura's suite, Eisuke's words replayed in her head again. Everyone's cruel words started replaying in her head.
'This... All this was your fault.'
'Face it, Saku... It was kind of your fault.'
And all the excuses they made to avoid her...
'I have work to do, I can't talk.'
'I just remembered I have to do something... Sorry.'
Just pathetic excuses, one after the other. And with each blame or excuse was another bruise or cut to her already injured heart. But when they took Soryu's body away, all she got was his tie as remembrance of him, which she wore around her neck everyday, not like she ever did walk out for anyone to see it or know.
Just then, on the floor of her trashed hotel room, she spotted her yearbook buried underneath everything. With a shaking hand, she reached for it, only to drop it like hot coal right after as tears began streaming from her eyes.
"I don't want to do this anymore... Please...." she mutters, walking over to her closet with a few stumbles. She digs around, and her hands get a grasp on her gun. And for the moment she kept her hand on it, her eyes widen at the thought of her plans.
It only took her five seconds to grab it and mutter, "Just one bullet... Just one shot and everything'll be done and gone... Then I won't have to hurt anyone anymore." the same reason she used to move her execution day.
Everyone would object, even the bidders despite their hate for her. But...
If this is what it takes to be with Soryu again... Then so be it.
