Love Him As Much As She Did

Four more days until execution day, and Sakura frankly just didn't care. In fact, she was actually a bit happy to finally end the pain.

Today, it was Tatsuro picking her up since Yuki was running late. "So how's your morning been?" Tatsuro asks as they climb into his car. "Good. Still wondering why the hell you guys are still trying to save me though,"

"Believe me, I would never have agreed to this, but your personal assistant has me wrapped around her finger." he relies with a light laugh, coming to a stop at a red light. "Still, I don't know why you're trying, you're just putting your whole careers on the line for me. I'll still die anyway." she mutters, looking straight ahead, avoiding the detective's eyes.

"Yeah, but don't you want to spend the rest of your life as much as possible?" he asks, glancing at her for a quick moment.

"But I already did," she chuckles, pulling her jacket tighter around her. "I smiled, laughed, made friends, felt love and all that shit. And besides, as people say, you live your life to the fullest when you fall in love."

"And I already did that."

Like the usual meetings, the Foxes and the bidders all try and form a plan as Sakura stands off to the side, wishing for all of this to be finished and over so she could return back.

She was standing on the roof of Le Renard Noir like every time, alone and to her thoughts. But she didn't notice Hiro from the Foxes entering the roof, finding her standing by the edge, looking down. He was about to speak to her until he heard her next words.

"Just four more days until the execution, huh? Might as well just jump of here now and make it quick."

Hiro gasps, but Sakura's sharp ears caught the quiet sound, making her whirl around. "Hiro?" she asks, looking at him with quizzical eyes. "What are you doing here?"

"Everyone was having a drink..." he mutters, her earlier words still shaking him a bit. He must have heard wrong, right?

"How much did you hear?" she cut to the chase and the young man stutters a little. "J-J-Just a little bit."

"What did you hear?" "You only have four more days before the execution is carried out..." he cringes when her intimidating glare finds his gaze. He wasn't normally this cautious or this shaken about a girl, but knowing this girl was a mafia queen of one the best gangs in the world kind of scared him...

"You don't tell anyone of what you've heard." she demands coldly, looking at him with empty eyes. "What do you mean?" he asks, looking at her with a face that says 'you want to die?'.

"I just don't need unnecessary pain. I don't need it, the bidders don't need it, you guys don't need it." she answers with no hesitation. "And besides, I know Soryu loves me."

"What does that have to do with anything?"

"Look at it, Hiro..." she says quietly, turning to look below them again, Hiro joining her side. "Don't you see it? He's already hurting, he's blaming himself that he couldn't stop my arrest. And prolonging that helpless pain for two weeks, just imagine that."

"An I'm not saying it will, I have faith in you if you ever do this, Sarashina," she adds, continuing on, "If this plan fails, and I still get killed in the end, it's going to make everyone feel bad, as if they weren't strong, smart or anything just because they weren't able to save me. And it will be even worse for Soryu, knowing that he as the one who began this entire plan process..."

And so, another day comes to an end, and another day that brings her closer to her cruel fate. Death.

But as she lay in her bed that night, staring across the room to the ever distasteful grey wall, she once more tries convincing herself that the choice she was making, was the right one.

'But if you move it back to its original time, you'll be able to see him just a little more...'

'Are you stupid?! Can't you see you're already killing him on the inside. Just make this all quick and everything will be over so fast you won't even notice it.'

'Then you should at least tell them!'

'And make them work harder that they won't even have time for themselves? What kind of monster will I become in their eyes...?'

She laughs to herself at her next argument in her mind.

"You don't need to look like a monster to them, you already are. For breaking his heart."

Hiro lay in his bed that night, thinking back on the conversation he had with Sakura that morning. She made valid points but...

But nothing came to his mind. No reason, no argument, no point.

"Do I really want to keep this secret...?" he mumbles to himself, brushing hair away from his eyes. "But I don't want to drag Soryu's pain like Sakura said... And with a shorter deadline, the Foxes wouldn't have time to themselves. No sleep, probably no eating..." he reasoned, trying to convince himself that keeping Sakura's secret was the right thing to do.

"She probably doesn't even give a crap about all this..." Hiro says quietly, but unknown to him, all the way somewhere...

Sakura was just as confused, and at a complete standstill on what to do for the next three days left with her life.

She wasn't afraid of death. She never was as a child, as a teen. But now... she was starting to second guess her courage and bravery.

When it came to thinking about her team, and friends... She was just a little scared.

But the thought of death, the thought of leaving her beloved, scared her to the point of tears.

The thought of leaving him so much pain to bear alone in this world. The thought of him forgetting her when she was gone. It all scared her.

Especially the thought of him finding someone else who can comfort him, even though they might not love him as much as she did.
