19-Hell hath no fury...

Noir's p.o.v.

It's been a while since Velvet and her team left for their mission, and a lot has happened since. The school had a dance and........ Ok, so not a lot has happened while they were gone. But, I'm still worried. They should have been back a week ago...

Right now, all the first year students along with a bunch of others from different schools just finished listening to Ozpin give a speech about wars, colors, and finally told us to take part on missions with a Huntsman. I walk over to the lists on the holo screens nearby and take a look.

Noir: Hhmmmm. Village security, perimeter defence, escort. Oh! Search and destroy! That sounds fun.

Looking through them all, I think over one small detail.

Noir: 'Wait. If I'm a one man team, how will that effect my options for these missions?'

As if reading my mind, I get an answer to that question. My scroll suddenly vibrates in my pocket, catching my attention. A text message from dad?

TheREALsychodad- Pick city patrol.

I raise an eyebrow in surprise from this. I quickly turn around to see if he was anywhere close by. Only to see him nowhere at all. And I'm pretty good at spotting him in a crowd.

Noir: That man legitimately scares me when he does that.

Once again, my scroll vibrates with a new message.

TheREALsychodad- That's why I love doing it! XD

Deciding not to add more fuel to this madness, I store away my phone and search through the list. And just like that, there it is. City patrol. Given the location, it's just outside of Beacon as well. I enter my name to verify it and soon take my leave.

Making my way outside, I see several other students preparing to head out. Along the way, I see team RWBY standing around as they talk... to... Holy shit, that's Velvet.

Noir: Velvet!

Her rabbit ears perk up as I call out her name. Turning around, she sees me running towards her and she soon does the same. We meet half way and embrace in a hug. We finally seporate after a second.

Noir: You're finally back! What happened? Are you all right?

Velvet: I'm fine. We were just... They just kept coming.

Noir: Damn. Sounds frightening.

(Y/n): Noir!

Velvet: Yeah. We were almost overwhelmed a few times... Anyway, you heading out on your mission now?

(Y/n): Hey, Noir!

Noir: Not really much of a mission. City patrol.

Velvet: Really? I'd thought you would go for something else, like search and destroy or something like that.

Noir: Let's just say there was some outside intervention.

(Y/n): Turn around, you shit head!

Velvet:... I think your dad's trying to get your attention.

Noir: Oh, I know.

(Y/n): I'm about five seconds away from chucking a shoe at ya!

I let out a chuckle and give Velvet one last hug. She takes her leave back to her team. I turn around and see dad hopping on one foot as he takes off a shoe. As he finally takes it off, winding back for a throw, he sees me coming and quickly hides it behind his back.

(Y/n): Hey, kiddo!

Noir: Hi. Why did I have to choose city patrol instead of something fun?

(Y/n): You want the bullshit or the truth?

Noir: Truth, please.

(Y/n): Well I thought it's been a while since we had some proper father and son time. City patrol seems like the best way to just piss around without too much to worry about.

Noir:....... Well, I guess I can unwind for-how long's this "mission"?

(Y/n): A week.

Noir:... Sure. Why not?

Not wanting to argue with dad about responsibility, we take our leave to head for the nearby city everyone is familiar to. While he tries to put his shoe back on as he hops on one leg.

Noir: So, I've been thinking.

(Y/n): That's not healthy.

Noir: With all the crap you've pulled, child abuse on the students, flaking out on most of your work while working, destruction of both private and public property, for the past few months; how the hell haven't you been arrested yet? Let alone not fired?

(Y/n): What Ozpin doesn't know, won't hurt my paycheck. Plus, when you're banging the headmaster's assistant, a lot of things go under the radar.

Noir: Gross.

(Y/n): Oh waa! You're gonna be doing that kind of stuff sooner or later.

So this is what its been like for the next hour. Just talking as we walk to the city. Not taking the car, but this is nice... At a time like this, dad would blurt out some random crap. Like-

[Timeskip: night time]

After a day of walking around and site seeing, dad and I check into a hotel to get some rest for tomorrow. I head to bed as he's in the bathroom taking a dump.

Noir: So what are we doi-

(Y/n): NO TALKING WHILE I'M ON THE SHITTER!

Noir: "snicker" Well, I'm going to sleep. Night, dad.

I get a splash sound as a response. Pulling the bed sheets up, I drift off to slumber.

[Dream]

I open my eyes, but all I see is darkness... Again. Letting out an annoyed sigh, I look up to the three dark towering figures with their piercing yellow eyes. Whispering their gibberish as my feline ears twitch in boredom.

Noir: Really? This again? This might have been terrifying for me as a kid. But now? I'm actually getting bored of this shtick.

Their whispers tone down as I start talking.

Noir: I know damn well this is just a figment of my traumatized imagination. But, to hell with it. FUCK ALL OF YOU!

... Everything goes quiet. For the first time since I had these dreams, it's quiet.

Noir: You think I actually give a shit about this anymore? The torments, the abuse, the fear. You? I'm done! No, scratch that. I've been done since I got away from you three!

I snap my head to the left, staring at the silhouette of my mother.

Noir: You... are an absolute harlotte. How does a mother coddle one child, and pretty much tells the other to fuck off? And with twins! You are a failure as a mother, and that is what I will always remember you as.

She fades out to mist as emptiness takes her place. Focusing on the largest one, father, my resolve hardens along with my stare.

Noir: For a man that cares so much about life with his plants, you sure can make it hell with mine. Every push, smack, yank, bruise, cut, and sprain made me think that pain was all there is. It isn't. I had to have a stranger with more heart than you to save me from that thought. And because of him, I know what having a real dad is like.

The giant crumbles to dust. Fading away in the void... I turn to the last one. Instead of towering over me, she's down to my level.

Noir:... I don't remember a time where I was happy to have a sister. I don't remember a time where my life wasn't hell because of you. I don't remember when I wasn't afraid of you. When I could sleep without worrying what you'll do tomorrow. Scared about what you'll put me through... I don't remember you as a sister. And I never want to.

She just stand there. Staring at me with a different look. Not one of disgust, but... regret? Before I could care, she follows the last two and fades away. Finally leaving me alone...

I soon fall to my knees and cry. Ten years of built up torment coming out in tears and whimpers. Not of sadness or regret.

But of joy.

Joy in not waking up from this nightmare in a cold spastic sweat. Joy in possibly ending this bull. Joy in... finally letting go.

???: Noir.

I hear a voice echo. A familiar one. It stops me from bawling my eyes out and I notice what seems like a light shining from behind me. I stand and turn around. Quickly shielding my eyes as the light becomes more bright than I thought. I look through the cracks of my fingers and make out a figure standing a few feet in front of me. Made purely of light.

???: Noir.

This time its voice is much more clear. His voice.

Noir: Dad?

The light becomes suddenly brighter. Consuming me in its beams. Everything is just bright.

[Real world]

(Y/n): Noir, wake up!

The bed suddenly shakes violently as it gets kicked. Shaking me clean awake.

Noir: Huh! What!?

I look over and see dad completely dressed and trying to put on Chimera 2.0.

(Y/n): Noir, get out of bed and gear up. Now!

Noir: Why? What's happening?

(Y/n): It's the Grimm! They've breached the city! I don't know how, but we need to be out there three minutes ago! NOW MOVE!

Completely shocked, I waist no time and get dressed. Slipping the Chimera gauntlets on with ease. Following dad's lead, we rush out of the building. Immediately, I here the city sirens blare out in the early morning. Nevermores flying over head as Lord knows what else floods the streets.

Without warning, we hear a scream from down the street. Looking over, I see someone being chased by a handful of Beowolves. Before I could even flinch, several orange projectiles  fly from my side. Each one precisely hitting there marks, right in each Grimm's head. As they drop dead, the civilian looks behind and sees the fallen beasts in shock. I look over to dad and see him with one of his arms stretched out. The site of what looks like an orange holographic gun barrel hovers over his wrist.

(Y/n): You! Get inside, NOW!

Wasting no time, the civilian rushes into the hotel we came out of. Giving us a grateful thank you before closing the door.

(Y/n): Noir, make your way uptown and try to help out as much as you can. Try to find any other Huntsmen and regroup. Kill everything in your path. I'll do the same downtown. Got it?

Noir: Yes, sir!

Without another word, we quickly run to our destinations. Hacking and wacking and smacking every Grimm I see.

3rd p.o.v.

Somewhere else in the city, Blake does her part to fend off the Grimm charging at her. Using her speed, semblance, and Gambol Shroud to put down the abominations. With the pack of Grimm taken down, she looks up to see Atlas airships flying over head.

???: Help! Somebody, please!

Snapping her head to the side, she sees an Ursa charging into an alleyway. Moving quick, Blake makes her way to the alley to try and kill the Grimm. As she rushes in, all she sees is a decapitated Ursa on the ground.

Blake: What?

Without warning, a hand grabs her shoulder and pulls her around. No time to react, she is met with a hard sucker punch to the face. Successfully knocking her out cold.

[Location: Uptown]

Noir rushes through the streets. Slashing through any Grimm dumb enough to get in his way. No sign of any Huntsmen. He takes a stop at a crossroad to catch his breath. He leans forward as he breathes heavily from all the running. As he stares at the ground, he suddenly sees his shadow growing.

Wasting no time, Noir activates his semblance. Vision turning yellow, he ducks to the side as something lands right where he was. He quickly stands up, ready for a fight. What he wasn't ready for was the round house kick to the head. This attack launches him right into a streetlamp. Denting it on impact. His semblance deactivates as he falls to the pavement, disoriented and even more out of breath.

Coughing up a lung, he looks up and barely makes out what looks like a man in a black trench coat. A White Fang mask covering his whole head. The last thing Noir sees is his attacker raising a foot and bringing it down on his head.

[Timeskip: 1 hour]

With the last of the Grimm in the city killed off, the Huntsmen and Huntresses that joined the fight regroup back to the city square to board bullheads. Off to the side, some of the professors have a chat on what happened.

Glynda: So you and team RWBY discovered a hidden White Fang base while out on your mission?

Oobleck: Precisely! Quite the plot convenience, if I do say so myself.

As Oobleck goes on about the probabilities of them just stumbling upon a base, Glynda notices (y/n) walking back and forth with a scroll to his ear. Ignoring her college, she walks over to the pacing ex-Huntsman.

(Y/n): Come on, pick up.

Glynda: What's wrong?

He moves his scroll out of the way and looks over to Glynda. A look of worry plastered on his face. A look she has never seen from him before.

(Y/n): It's Noir. He isn't answering his scroll, and it's been half an hour since the all clear.

Glynda: Ok. Where do you last reme-

Ruby: Professor!

The two look over to see Ruby, Weiss, and Yang rushing towards them.

Glynda: Ruby? What is it?

Ruby: It's Blake! She's missing!

Glynda gives them a look of shock from this. Two students missing in one day? (Y/n), being the ever paranoid and over thinker, starts connecting the dots on the situation. Both Noir and Blake, no other student, go missing on the same day...

All of a sudden, his scroll vibrates with a message. Wasting no time, he opens up his scroll and sees a picture. Something that causes a slew of emotions to spiral in his head.

It is a picture of Noir, face bruised and tied up, with a caption in the middle of the shot.

Docks. 10 pm.
