After watching Siren walk away with a stubborn look on her face, I turn around and stare at the bodies again.

Kneeling down on one leg, I feel the gray creature's pulse. No heartbeat. I push it on its back and examine it's face better. It had the face of a dog but had no fur. I then open its mouth to be greeted by a horrible smell. I cover my mouth quickly and stand up.

Now's not the time to be dissecting anything. ( though it's very tempting ) I need to figure out where these came from.

Rustling comes from their path. I run quickly after the sound. And without seeing who it was, I tackle the boy.

"Hey! What are you doing?!" I hear Jeff's voice. When I open my eyes I am greeted with Jeff's angry glare. "Get off!" He pushes me off then brushes the leaves and dirt off of his hoodie. "Sorry, I thought you were one of them."

"Them?"

I point to the bodies. When Jeff stands up to looks he pauses and says, "yeah... I just saw them a minute ago... I was following them but got... lost on the way. "

"Following them?"

"They looked suspicious,  I was going to kill them. But I guess you did before I could." Jeff smirks a bit. As if to congratulate me for the kill.

"Where are the others?" I say looking around my surroundings. "They're with Alex. Oh, which reminds me... You really should come see him."

I nod and walk back with Jeff. After a minute or two Jeff holds my arm back and asks, "wait where's Siren? Is she okay?"

I look him in his eyes and notice his worried expression. A bit skeptical I ask, "Why do you care?" Jeff blushes and looks away from me. "Because... I'm friends with her. What are you implying?"

"You know I heard Jane and clockwork talking earlier about you and Siren... You do understand Siren loves ME and not YOU right?

Jeff looks away from me and starts to get silent. I wasn't sure if he was embarrassed or scared but I hope he keeps his distance for now or there'll be problems...

The rest of the way there was silent expect for our footsteps on the trail.

I glance over to Jeff  who had a serious expression painted on his face. "What do you think of Siren?" Jeff looks down as his hair covers his face. "Why are you asking me this, Ben?"

"Why are  you avoiding the question?" Jeff gives out a dry chuckle and says, "I'm not in love with Siren. Calm down. Your jumping to conclusions too quickly."

"Jumping to concl- No I'm not!" I yell as I grab his shoulder. "You really think i wouldn't find out sooner or later?" Jeff turns to give me an annoyed smirk. "About what?"

"I heard Jane tell clockwork all about how you loved, Siren." Jeff pushes my hand off his shoulder and gives me another smirk. "You idiot! Stop assuming that everyone loves Siren! Your getting yourself worked up for nothing! You really think me? Your Best Friend? would steal your girlfriend?"

"I've known Siren longer than you! Everyone close to Siren Is an enemy!"

"That includes you!" I give him a confused glare. '"What?"

"Did you ever think you could be your own worst enemy?" Jeff yells looking angrily at me.

What the heck does that supposed to mean?

"I... I don't understand..."

"Look at you... Your insane. And that says something coming from me... Your a danger to yourself and siren."

I sprinted towards Jeff pulling out something out of my pocket.

And just like that... I did something unforgivable...
