Supergirl ~ Trinity ~ Part Three

Well, after an extremely long month of project after project, concert after concert, and test after test, I am finally on summer break! Took a few days to relax and unwind, and frankly get used to having nothing to do for a while, and then finished this up.

I would still like to reiterate that I will not have a specific updating schedule in mind even though there isn't any school right now. Family and friends will come first, and I will be attempting to write more of my Doctor Who books now as well as my DC books, so my answer to when updates will come will be the same as ever: I don't know. Just keep being patient, and updates will come when they get the chance. I am absolutely not abandoning this series, so any delay in updates will either mean I'm working on something else, something away from Wattpad is taking up my attention, or I'm burned out and need time to recuperate.

Anyway, back to the main event! It's Teams Supergirl, Arrow, and Flash against the Worldkillers with a surprising outcome, and Team Tech makes a surprising discovery when they return.

Enjoy!

J'onn staggered back as an uppercut from Purity knocked him off balance, then Cisco flung his hands out, shooting his blasts at her. Caitlin hit her from behind. Purity gritted her teeth, standing her ground, then flung her head back and screamed up into the sky.

Jesse looked up, surprised by the direction, and blanched when she saw Purity had another goal in mind. "Dad!" she called. "Look out!"

***

Jesse's warning was lost as the cruiser rocked, making Evelyn yelp as she fell back onto one of the beds, William crashing into the wall. "You two OK?" Felicity called worriedly.

"Yeah!" William managed to call, Evelyn giving her a quick thumbs up.

"What was that?" Harry scowled.

"Main thrusters are damaged," Querl answered.

"How did that happen?" Lucy demanded.

"Some sort of soundwave interference."

Winn groaned. "Purity."

"Of course," Max rolled his eyes.

"It's fine, we have secondary thrusters," Querl waved the concern off.

The cruiser rocked again, sparks flying and the power flickering, and Harry groaned, closing his eyes. "We just lost those, too, didn't we?"

"Actually, to be more precise, they just blew up," Querl cleared his throat, standing from the pilot's chair. "Excuse me a moment."

The group watched him hurry to a nearby panel, and Lena shook her head. "We don't have a moment to waste," she said, walking over to the chair.

"Whoa," Felicity blinked, looking at her as Evelyn helped William up. "You sure about that?"

"You do remember who my copilot during the Nazi invasion was, right?" Harry raised an eyebrow.

Lena grinned smugly and tapped on the chair, two holographic circles with schematics popping up in front of her. As she tapped on them, Querl stood up from his work and immediately glared. "What are you doing?" he asked.

"I'm helping," Lena answered shortly, not looking up from what she was doing.

"No, no, that's not how that works," Querl began as he walked over.

The circles Lena was working with blazed scarlet, and Max smirked. "I think it is."

Querl blinked in surprise. "Yes . . . that's exactly how that works."

"I know," Lena smirked. "Pull up six thousand feet and vent the engines."

Querl gave her an incredulous look, and Harry chuckled. "I'd listen to her."

Querl cleared his throat and turned to do just that, and Evelyn looked at William with wide eyes. "She's awesome."

"I know," William grinned proudly.

Lena turned to give them a smug wink, then turned back to continue working on the cruiser.

Kara punched Reign across the face, and the Kryptonian faltered for a second before snarling angrily. "You are weak!"

She threw a punch towards Kara, and Kara caught her arm, gritting her teeth and trying to hold her back. Reign flew forward and grabbed Kara, flying them backwards. Kara yelped as she was shoved into one of the rocky walls and dropped, Reign storming towards her. She scrambled to her feet as quickly as she could, jabbing towards Reign's stomach. The Worldkiller caught her arm with her own, forcing Kara's upwards and punching with her other fist. Kara brought her other forearm to block it, and the next few punches went the same way, each Kryptonian blocking the other.

Until one of Reign's hands curled into a fist and punched upwards, clobbering Kara right in the jaw. Kara retched as she was propelled end over end through the air, landing with a thud on the ground, all the air leaving her in a whoosh.

Reign smirked as she strutted forward, but her boots couldn't cover the three sets of running footsteps behind Kara. She heard a startled noise, then three bright red projectiles soared over her head towards Reign. When they hit the Worldkiller, Kara had to duck her head and cover her eyes, the flares of scarlet energy hurt her vision. She could hear Reign's pained grunt and the thud of her body hitting the ground, and when she looked back up, she saw Reign wincing on the ground.

She got to her feet and turned to see Dig staring at the gun he held in shock, Slade and Alex looking at her. "Little one?" Slade asked in concern.

"I've got this," Kara waved them off. "Check on the others."

Alex nodded, then looked at her gun in surprise. "Red sun bullets . . . "

"Winn outdid himself," Slade remarked, sounding impressed.

"Thank you, Telle," Dig whistled, and the three of them turned and ran back towards the others.

Barry sped after Jesse when Purity punched her away, then the Worldkiller ducked as Caitlin skated down the ice slide above her, firing icicles at her. Purity sneered and smacked them out of midair, shattering them into some pieces that Cisco was forced to either duck under or blast to destroy them. J'onn charged her from behind, knocking her off balance, then the two speedsters rammed into her from the side, making Purity double over.

Across the Fortress, Pestilence lashed out with a clawed hand at Laurel, who just narrowly dodged. Malcolm fired an arrow in response, which Pestilence grabbed out of thin air and jabbed into Laurel's leg. The metahuman cried out in pain, and Pestilence grinned, swiping for her face. Imra reached out with her arm, catching Pestilence's wrist on her forearm and spinning it in a circle, forcing Pestilence away from Laurel as she staggered back. Pestilence snarled and turned on Imra, swinging with her other arm. Imra stepped to the side to avoid it, but she doubled over when Pestilence kicked her in the stomach, knocking her to the ground.

Mon-El took a deep breath, looking at Pestilence as she turned to him, not letting her see Malcolm rush to help Laurel. "I don't think you know what you're becoming," he said.

"I've already become," she sneered. "I am death, and I choose you first!"

Mon-El ducked her swing, then threw a sharp uppercut. Pestilence flew into the air, and Mon-El bent his knees, flying after her. Imra joined him a few seconds later, and Malcom and Laurel looked up to see the two Legionnaires fight Pestilence in the dying light of the eclipse. "Why do the Worldkillers have to be such dramatists?" Malcolm couldn't help but ask as he helped Laurel stand.

"Says the man who keeps insisting on bickering with Slade every time he's goaded," Laurel grumbled.

"He starts it!"

"You continue it!" Slade's voice broke through the discussion.

"We still have one on the ground!" Oliver shouted.

Malcolm and Laurel turned to see Purity regain her balance, then scream at J'onn as he approached. J'onn phased through her scream and punched Purity in the face. Purity's head jerked back, but she snarled and caught J'onn's arm when he tried to hit her again. She kicked him in the back, the stomach, then threw him towards Cisco and Caitlin. The Martian tried to twist out of their way, but he only narrowly avoided Cisco; he crashed into Caitlin, the two of them sprawling out on the ground.

Oliver and Malcolm exchanged concerned glances as Barry and Jesse rushed in, then Oliver looked at Cisco. "Vibe!" he shouted. "Just like the church!"

Cisco rapidly nodded, throwing out both hands. The two archers jumped through at the same time, reaching back into their quivers for the Kryptonite arrows both still had. They fired in unison, and Purity had to use both hands to catch them, distracting herself from the speedsters. Oliver rolled out of the way as Barry sped in first, charging up lightning and punching Purity with it, making her double over. Jesse came from Malcolm's side, and Purity lashed out with one of the arrows, stabbing Jesse in the side with it. She cried out in pain, and Harry's concerned shout came over the comms. "Jesse?!"

Yellow lightning wrapped around Jesse, and Barry sped her away, leaving Cisco, Oliver, and Malcolm to face down Purity. "Oh, I don't like this," Cisco winced.

"Thanks, Cisco, you're a wonderful motivator," Malcolm tightened his grip on his bow.

Purity smirked at them, then paused when a shout came from behind her. "Julia!" She turned to see Alex pointing her gun at her, Dig and Slade flanking her. "You're in there," she continued, walking forward slowly. "I know it." Purity's eyes narrowed, but Alex lifted her head. "Come on," she urged. "You gotta rise up and help us."

Purity smiled, then took a deep breath. "Get down!" Oliver shouted.

As Purity screamed, all three fired their guns at the same time. Sonic scream met three red sun blasts, and the resulting shockwave knocked all seven still standing off their feet, dust fluttering in the air.

Kara and Reign had their heat vision locked on each other, trying to get the upper hand on the other even as their comrades fought not that far away.

But Kara started to falter, her heat vision weakening and Reign's not diminishing in strength at all. Eventually her heat vision cut out, and Reign's heat vision smacked her in the face. When she regained her balance, the Worldkiller was right in front of her, and her next words confirmed what Kara thought had happened. "The eclipse is full," Reign grinned. "No more powers."

Gulping, Kara threw a desperate punch at Reign. She caught her fist easily, then with a smug smirk, started to squeeze. Pain raced up Kara's arm as she felt her bones crack, and with a whimper, she dropped to her knees, trying to stand again. Reign didn't give her the chance, punching her in the abdomen and sending her through the rock wall behind her.

Kara tumbled out onto the ground back among her friends, gasping for breath as she collapsed in a heap. "Kara!" she heard Barry call through her comms.

Kara weakly looked up as Reign approached, then a glowing green arrow struck her in the shoulder, stopping her progress. Yellow lightning filled her vision and she felt herself be moved, and as Reign yanked the Kryptonite arrow out of her shoulder, Kara found herself in Oliver's arms, the archer immediately tugging her to him. "Thanks," she mumbled faintly.

"Always," Oliver squeezed her tightly, looking at Barry. "What more can you do?"

Barry looked back at Reign, the woman snarling as she threw the arrow aside. "Not entirely sure," he admitted, looking at Cisco as the other meta joined him.

Reign sneered at them, then paused and tilted her head. A second later, she sped to Alex just as her gun landed smack in her palm, and she lifted the auburn-haired woman by the throat, Alex retching. "Alex!" Malcolm shouted.

"No!" Kara cried, trying to get to her feet, only to stagger backwards and collapse back into Oliver's grasp.

Reign's head shot to the side as more rattles sounded, then Slade's and then Dig's guns returned to their owners. Reign tossed Alex aside as the two vigilantes aimed and fired, and Reign grunted as she was catapulted back. Alex groaned as she rolled over onto her stomach, Dig getting to his feet to run and help her, Slade much slower in getting to his, though he kept his gun on Reign the entire time.

Until Mon-El and Imra crashed into him, and all three collapsed. Alex and Dig looked up to see Pestilence land by Reign, giving her sister a helping hand up. Reign gave her a pleased look in response, a satisfied growl coming from her lips. "Man, that's weird," Cisco blinked.

"Not the time!" Oliver barked.

Kara slumped back against him, then caught sight of Purity still on the ground. "Julia," she called hoarsely.

"Julia, please!" Alex joined her. "Julia, rise up!"

"Julia, I can't do this!" Kara urged. "You're still strong enough! Help us!"

Barry and Cisco stepped in front of Kara as Reign and Pestilence approached. "Not another step," Barry warned.

Reign sneered at him in response. "It's over."

Barry braced himself for a fight when a voice, this time no longer reverberating, rang out. "What did you say before? That only one of equal strength can beat you?" Barry and Cisco turned to see Purity had gotten to her feet, and before their eyes, her own eyes flickered from white to dark brown. "Well, come at me, witch!" Julia spat.

"Flash, Vibe, move!" Malcolm warned as the two Worldkillers moved.

Barry sped Cisco away as Julia screamed at Reign and Pestilence; Reign tried to brace through the attack, but Pestilence leapt into the air, out of reach. Reign stood her ground for all of two seconds before she was blasted away.

Julia took a few deep breaths, then Oliver's eyes widened when Pestilence landed behind her. "Julia, look out!" he shouted.

Julia spun around at his warning, but she couldn't avoid Pestilence's claws as she dug them into her side. Julia wailed in pain, and Pestilence thrust her claws into her neck as well. "No!" Julia begged. "No!"

"I always knew you were weak," Pestilence snarled.

Julia gulped, then screamed with all her might in Pestilence's face. Pestilence's grip started to falter, her entire body trembling. "No!" Reign cried.

Malcolm felt Laurel grasp his leg, and he looked down, seeing her stand back up, a determined look on her face. He stepped away, and Laurel took a deep breath before unleashing her own scream on Pestilence. Pestilence had to drop Julia, and she collapsed on the ground under both sonic screams, dead before she hit the ground.

Then Julia collapsed, her suit stained dark red, Kara's horrified cry of "No!" ringing out as she dropped in a heap.

Barry sped to check on Julia at once, and he swallowed hard, looking up at Laurel as she tried to join him. "She's not gonna make it," he shook his head.

Laurel closed her eyes, looking away. "Just when she broke through."

Julia's skin suddenly shimmered with white energy, making Barry back up as the energy drifted off Julia's body and into the air. Cisco and Malcolm made startled noises of their own as Pestilence's skin glowed sickly green, the energy twirling to join Purity's. "She did it," Imra breathed as she got to her feet, Caitlin helping Jesse out from where they'd been taking cover. "She did it! Pestilence is dead!"

Dig quickly threw an arm over Alex's head as rubble started crashing down on them, and he looked around to see everyone else trying to avoid being hit as well. "The Fortress is collapsing!" he warned.

"Good riddance!" Slade growled.

"Not with us in it!" Malcolm barked.

The energy in the air dissipated, and Reign took off, flying through the Fortress and out into the sky. "I like her idea!" Cisco pointed.

J'onn nodded in agreement. "Let's get the hell out of here."

Kara nodded, taking hold of Oliver's suit and jumping, flying out into the sky. As Mon-El helped Slade, J'onn Dig, and Imra Alex, Cisco snapped open a breach. Jesse sped Caitlin through, and once Barry got Malcolm and Laurel through, Cisco jumped after them.

When they were all on the Legion cruiser, Lena turned tail and soared away from the Fortress, the sun from the ended eclipse nearly blinding them, the roar of the collapsing Fortress audible over the engines as she flew them away.

"So," Barry took a deep breath as the three team leaders collapsed in the conference room. "Those were all three Worldkillers together."

"Yeah," Kara nodded weakly.

"Suddenly I prefer a villain who can outthink all of us."

"Launch Brainy at him, that might solve everything," Oliver pinched the bridge of his nose.

Barry looked at him in surprise. "You think so?"

"I don't know," Oliver made a helpless gesture as he leaned back. "Just a suggestion."

"He's a 12th-level intellect, that has to count for something," Kara said tiredly.

"True," Barry nodded thoughtfully. There was silence in the room for a few seconds, then he asked, "What was that energy that got into Reign before she left?"

Kara nearly fell out of her seat. "What?" Oliver shot upright.

"That energy that came from Pestilence and Purity, or Julia, it got into Reign," Barry nodded, looking between them. "You didn't see it?"

"Great," Kara groaned, putting her head in her hands. "That can't end well."

"Wonderful," Oliver sighed, rubbing his forehead.

There was a knock on the doorframe, and they looked up to see Mon-El giving them sympathetic looks. "Don't start," Barry held up his hand. "We look terrible."

"I was gonna say exhausted, but you said it first," Mon-El chuckled, walking around the table to sit by Oliver.

"Well done, Barry," Oliver gave the speedster a look.

"What?" Barry protested. "That's how I feel, at least!"

"The eclipse is over, the sun's back, and my powers are mostly back," Kara held up her hand. "I'm just tired."

"Hence why I was gonna go with that," Mon-El pointed at her.

"Put me somewhere in the middle, then," Oliver conceded. "God, that was rough."

"But Purity and Pestilence are gone," Mon-El pointed out. "Guess having a bigger team helped."

"Hey, we were happy to help," Barry smiled.

"You may regret that if we need help with Reign," Kara warned.

Barry simply shrugged. "Strength in numbers."

"El mayarah," Oliver smiled warmly at Kara.

She smiled back, then looked up when there was another knock on the door. "Hey!" she smiled at Imra. "Come to join the post battle round table exhaust fest?"

"The what?" Oliver grinned.

"I made it up on the spot, don't judge."

"I actually kind of like it," Mon-El shrugged.

"See!" Kara pointed at him triumphantly.

Imra just smiled widely as she sat down. "We did it. All of us. The future, our friends and family . . . "

"Your sister," Kara smiled. "You saved everyone in the future."

Imra nodded. "We beat Pestilence. We stopped the Blight."

"So it's over?" Oliver looked between her and Mon-El.

Mon-El nodded. "I guess we can go home now."

"I guess so," Imra nodded in agreement.

"Man," Barry sighed, leaning further back in his chair. "Has it really been since November?"

"Feels like less than that," Kara scratched her head. "I don't think I like that."

"Me, neither," Oliver admitted. "I've gotten used to you two, and Brainy."

Mon-El snorted. "And to think you once would have rather killed me rather than say that sentence."

Oliver tilted his head side to side. "Threat still stands, you know."

Mon-El held his hands up placatingly. "So noted."

Kara reached over and squeezed Imra's hand. "I'm happy you'll get your sister back," she said sincerely. "I watched Alex, Oliver, Malcolm, and Winn suffer because of Pestilence . . . I can't imagine what it must've been like when she turned into the Blight."

"It was horrible," Imra whispered, squeezing Kara's hand back. "I can't wait to see her again. Thank you for helping us."

"Of course," Kara smiled. "Any time." She paused. "Well, any time you're in our time."

"Hey, speaking of our time," Mon-El frowned suddenly, "can we even get back to our time?"

"Brainy will figure it out," Imra said confidently. "Otherwise, he loses the nickname 'Brainy.'"

"Ooo," Barry grinned mischievously. "That's a nice threat."

"The only question is when will that happen," Imra pointed out.

"Well, quality over quickness," Kara shrugged.

"I can vouch for that," Barry grimaced.

Oliver snorted. "Welcome to the life of non-speedsters."

"Shut up."

"Well," Mon-El raised an eyebrow, leaning back in his chair and considering Kara and Oliver. "I guess that means you're stuck with us a little while longer."

"What horror," Oliver deadpanned.

Kara just giggled, looking at Imra. "I still need to show you that all you can eat ribs place, don't I?"

Imra's eyes lit up, and Mon-El sighed. "Why did I ever bring that up?"

Oliver chuckled. "Nice to know things won't change that quickly again."

Mon-El conceded with a nod. "Yeah. Sticking around a little longer won't be too bad."

***

"I'm sorry, repeat that?" James rubbed his forehead, still comprehending the story he had just heard.

"I don't see what repeating this for the fourth time in a row will do, but sure," Jesse sighed. "The Fortress is gone. It's like it was never even there."

"There wasn't even any rubble," Cisco nodded in agreement. "Stone turned to sand."

"And Reign is gone, too," Alex sighed. "She's untraceable."

"Did anyone else notice that eclipse ended as soon as the Fortress was destroyed?" Lucy looked around.

"Still working on believing that," Max sighed.

J'onn merely nodded in response. "No such thing as coincidences," Malcolm hummed.

"But hey, we got rid of two out of the three Worldkillers," Cisco smiled widely. "Like, that's a win!"

"And we'll find Sam, somehow," Alex said.

Kara nodded in agreement, then cleared her throat. "So, do I need to worry about those guns being used on me any time soon?"

"Yeah, I saw that," Malcolm scowled as Slade grinned, examining the gun he still had. "What the hell?"

"Well, Winn did us a solid," Dig smirked.

"You got the Kryptonite arrows, seems fair we get something, too," Slade added.

"You two teaming up," Malcolm narrowed his eyes. "I don't think I like that."

"Better than having this team split again," Oliver looked at his two friends, a smile on his face.

"Not a chance, man," Dig shook his head at once.

"I keep waiting for Felicity to interject, but she's not here," Laurel frowned.

"Yeah, my dad isn't, either," Jesse looked around.

"Come to think of it," Barry tilted his head, "where is Team Tech?"

***

"Wow," Cisco blinked as he righted one of Lena's tables. "Man, being a CEO of a company like this really has its perks, doesn't it?"

"You didn't think to ask me that?" Harry snorted.

"Hey, our S.T.A.R. Labs technically isn't your company!"

Winn looked at Felicity as the two other men bickered. "They really always are like this, aren't they?"

"Think tech-oriented Slade and Malcolm," Felicity nodded.

Winn paused. "That's . . . slightly terrifying."

"Uh huh."

"Thanks for helping out," Lena told them gratefully as she checked one of the monitors nearby. "I would have done this immediately, but then there were all three Worldkillers – "

"Hey, happy to help," Cisco assured her. "Saving the world and cleaning up equipment that probably only we can announce."

Winn tilted his head. "That's really accurate, actually."

Harry noted Lena's look of concentration as she stared at her monitor, and he walked over in concern. "Something wrong?" he asked.

"There was this one file of Lex's that I've been trying to get into," Lena sighed, bracing her hands on the table. "It's locked down tight."

"I can get into it," Felicity volunteered immediately, then blushed when everyone looked at her. "I mean, if you want me to."

"Please," Lena nodded after a moment, stepping away. "If this is some weapon Lex had in mind or anything that could be used for terrorism, I want to know."

"You got it," Felicity cracked her knuckles, then went to work on the keyboard. "Let's see . . . what were you up to, Mr. Luthor?"

Lena gawked as the file opened mere seconds later. "You really are the best hacker in two universes."

"Boom!" Felicity grinned triumphantly, turning around to grin smugly at Cisco's astonished face.

"I'm not arguing with that," Winn held up his hands in surrender.

"So?" Harry folded his arms as Lena stepped up to examine the folder's contents. "What was so secretive?"

"It looks like . . . " Lena squinted. "A formula of some sort."

"A formula?" Cisco parroted. "Like a chemical or something?"

"No," Lena said slowly, her eyes widening in shock. "Oh, my God."

"What?" Harry asked in concern.

Lena swallowed. "More like a substance."

***

"Where've you been?" Barry raised an eyebrow as the tech team returned.

"Helping Lena in her lab," Cisco shrugged. "Figured someone had to help her clean up."

"We could have helped, too," Kara frowned at Lena.

"It's all right," Lena shook her head. "Everything's back to the way it should be."

"And I guess that means we need to be back where we should be," Barry rubbed his hands together.

"Thank you for your help, Barry," J'onn stepped forward first, extending a hand. "We really appreciated it."

"Any time," Barry smiled, shaking his hand.

"It was good to meet you, Jesse," Kara smiled brightly at the speedster.

"You, too," Jesse accepted her hug, then smiled wider at Lena. "And you."

"Glad to put a face to the name," Lena smiled, accepting Jesse's hug, too. "You're just as badass as your father."

Jesse beamed up at Harry. "Well, you know where I get it from, then."

Harry sighed and rolled his eyes, but Lena nudged him knowingly. "Just take the compliment."

"Fine," Harry huffed, but he bent down and kissed the top of her head. "Good luck with Reign."

"Good luck with DeVoe," Lena kissed his cheek in return.

"So," Barry walked over to Kara and Oliver as the rest of his team made their rounds saying goodbye. "Just one more to go."

"One more," Kara nodded.

"Well, like I said," Barry looked between them. "We're happy to help if we're needed."

Kara smiled. "We'll keep that in mind."

"Good luck, Barry," Oliver held out his hand.

Barry smiled, shaking his hand. "You, too." He pointed between the two of them. "And I'm still waiting on a date for the wedding!"

Kara laughed as Oliver sighed in mock annoyance. "You'll know when we know!"

Barry backed up to where Cisco was forming a breach. "We better!" he called one last time before heading through.

"What was that about?" Felicity looked at the duo.

"Wedding date," Kara sighed.

"You still need to figure that out," Alex smirked.

Kara groaned. "Not you, too!"

Before an argument could begin, Lena cleared her throat. "Um, Kara? I need to show you something."

Kara blinked, looking over at her friend. "Sure," she nodded. "What is it?"

Lena swallowed and pulled a tablet out of her bag. "It's, um . . . it's something we found while we were cleaning up my lab. Felicity had to hack into it so I could see what it was. I swear, this was the first time I ever saw this."

Kara frowned uneasily. "Lena, whatever it is, it's OK," she assured her, walking over.

But Lena shook her head. "No, Kara, it's really not. Not considering who came up with this."

Kara swallowed. "You're worrying me now."

Lena took a deep breath, then turned the tablet on. "I found this buried on the hard drive."

Kara frowned, looking at what Lena pulled up. "It looks like some kind of formula."

"It is," Lena nodded. "It's a formula . . . one created by Lex for one purpose only."

Kara blanched when the realization hit her. Created by Lex . . . that meant – "No," she whispered in disbelief.

"Yes," Lena swallowed hard. "This is a formula for Kryptonite. Lex figured out how to make it."

***

Night had fallen over National City, blanketing it in darkness. It provided the perfect backdrop for Reign, who was flying high above the lights, shielded by the clouds. Even the pulsating crystal in her hand didn't allow her to be seen.

"The human in you must die," the voice of the Fortress's hologram hissed, and Reign looked down at the crystal she held, her eyes hardening in determination. "The child must die. Ruby Arias must die."

***

Locked away in the dark valley, Sam's trembling fingers brushed over Ruby's name. She took several deep breaths, trying to keep herself from hyperventilating.

"Ruby Arias must die."

Sam whimpered as the words rang through her head, then broke down and let out a scream of terror, her fear for her daughter making her collapse on the ground, surrounded by rocks, all bearing the same scratched message.

My daughter's name is Ruby.

Oof, I always keep forgetting how long it takes to write original scenes/add on to actual scenes to make everyone fit. Hopefully it worked out.

Speaking of writing original scenes/adding on to actual scenes, it's time for another change of scenery. There's been three Supergirl episodes in a row . . . it's back to Star City and Arrow! "Brothers In Arms" is the next episode to tackle, and it'll be a bit different than it was in canon, especially since the annoyance fest that was Oliver and Dig's spat is out of the way and resolved.

Keep an eye out!
