"Having supervillain parents sucks."

Ruby blinked, looking up at Winn when he plopped down across from her in the conference room. "Yeah, it does," she frowned.

"I'm saying that because I know what you're going through," Winn explained. "I had a . . . very complicated relationship with my dad. He actually tried to kill me, too, believe it or not. And, you know, for the longest time . . . dude, I was terrified that whatever made him what he was, like, that was inside of me, too. You know, that . . . evil."

"I know what you mean," Ruby shuddered. "But you're not evil."

"No," Winn agreed. "No, I'm not. I'm just tech support for the best alien in the universe."

Ruby smiled widely. "You're pretty good at it."

"I like to think I am," Winn preened. "How about it? Wanna help me track her when she comes back?"

Ruby nodded eagerly, and Winn gestured for her to follow him.

"Is everyone in position?" Alex's voice rang through the comms device in Slade's ear, and he crouched down, checking the ammunition he had on him. He could see specks of black and other colors as everyone else reached their positions. "I repeat, is everyone in position?"

"Ready," Oliver reported.

"Ready," Malcolm chimed in.

The other vigilantes pitched in, and Slade looked at his partner. "Ready," he said.

"We're good to go, J'onn," the Alex next to him nodded.

"Copy that," the Alex on the ground, J'onn shifted into his second in command, nodded, putting earbuds in. "Keep your eyes open, everybody."

Kara nervously paced outside the council chambers, then blinked when she saw Mon-El hastily approach. "Where have you been?" she asked.

"Sightseeing," Mon-El answered simply, then chuckled and gestured to the crest emblazoned on her suit. "You didn't need that disguise after all. You get to just be you here, Supergirl."

"Not Supergirl," Kara smiled. "Kara Zor-El.

"You're advocating for Kara Danvers' family, too," Mon-El reminded her.

"I know," she nodded. "They're who I'm here for."

Mon-El smiled, then Alura walked out of the chambers, a white cloak over her dress. "Are you ready?" she asked.

Kara took a deep breath. "Yes," she nodded.

Mon-El smiled encouragingly at her. "Good luck," he wished in Kryptonian.

Kara squeezed his hand thankfully, then followed Alura into the council chambers. "Allow me to introduce my daughter," Alura held her hand out as she and Kara stepped into the center of the room.

"Kara," a dark-skinned woman draped in grey and white smiled as Kara stepped onto the platform in the middle, Alura taking her place in the circle of councilors. "Welcome home."

"Esteemed members of the High Council of Argo City," Kara smiled nervously. "Thank you for seeing me on such short notice."

"Alura is a pillar of our community and a long-standing member of this council," the woman nodded. "We would be remiss in refusing her daughter an audience."

"As you may know, Zor-El and I came up with a plan to save Kara during the dark days before Krypton's destruction," Alura explained. "We didn't know that Argo could survive, and so we put Kara, our only child, into a pod and we sent her to Earth. Its people took her in. They saved her. And in exchange, she serves the people of her adopted home. She's a hero that embodies our greatest ideals. But unfortunately, Kara was not the only Kryptonian to travel to Earth."

"A Worldkiller followed," Kara nodded.

"You must forgive our skepticism," a dark-skinned man in slate grey and silver frowned. "You've been away a long time. Here on Argo, Worldkillers are the stuff of children's stories."

"I, too, was hesitant to believe that such a thing could be real, but I faced it," Kara told him. "She is real, and she calls herself Reign. I traveled here from across the stars because I could not defeat her myself. And Earth is in grave danger."

"An unfortunate situation if true," the dark-skinned woman nodded. "But how can Argo be of help?"

"Indeed," the man nodded. "We are a recovering city, still limping from the trauma of destruction. We can't communicate outside our protective dome, let alone send troops or aid beyond its border."

"It isn't troops we need," Kara shook her head.

"Then what is it you seek?" the woman tilted her head.

Kara looked at Alura, who nodded encouragingly, and she took a deep breath. "A gift of Harun-El."

All of the councilors except Alura looked shocked at her request.

***

"Any sign of the suspect?" Alex asked.

"All's quiet down here," J'onn looked around as he jogged. "But I'm completely exposed, so if he's gonna strike, the time is now."

Alex gritted her teeth in annoyance, she and Slade scoping the area around them. "Come on," she grumbled. "Where are you?"

***

"You would have us give away our most precious resource, our only lifeline, to an alien species?" the man in grey demanded.

"The people of Earth share our ideals," Kara insisted. "They're more like us than you realize."

"Or perhaps you've become more like them than you realize," the man retorted.

"With all due respect, Councilman, the danger currently facing Earth is of Kryptonian making," Alura interjected sharply.

"And I need not remind you, Alura, that Krypton is dead," the councilman scowled. "Argo City is all that remains."

"And yet the sins of Krypton live on in this Worldkiller," Alura countered. "Can you abide this as our legacy?"

"This council does not concern itself with legacy," he shook his head. "Only survival."

"And what is the point of survival if there's no soul to save?" Alura argued.

"I agree with Jul-Us," the councilwoman in white said. "His position is wise and thoughtful."

***

"Status check?" Alex finally asked.

"No sign of your suspect," J'onn shook his head.

"I've got something," Dig suddenly said. "Northwest, baseball hat."

Slade and Alex swiveled to see. "Yeah," Alex confirmed, looking through her lens. "I see it." It was definitely a man with a rifle aiming down at J'onn.

Abruptly, the man turned and fired three shots up at them, and Slade and Alex dove to the roof of the building. "Guys?" Curtis shouted.

"We're made!" Alex winced. "I think he knows that J'onn isn't me!"

"How did he know which one of us is which?" J'onn demanded.

"I don't know," Slade peered over the ledge of the roof, firing shots of his own and sending the man scrambling away. "But he's on the move."

"I'm going after him," Alex scowled.

"Wait for backup, Agent Danvers!" J'onn shouted, transforming back.

Alex looked at Slade. "Go around the back?" she asked.

"Be careful," he warned.

"It's me," Alex gave him a cheerful smile before taking off.

Slade sighed, watching her go. "That's part of what I'm worried about."

***

Kara took a deep breath, composing herself. "Your point is well-made that Krypton is dead," she told Jul-Us. "But its legacy lives on, for good and ill. My own mother sentenced prisoners to Fort Rozz. Prisoners who broke free and took their anger out on Earth, many of whom we're still trying to apprehend. There are people on Earth who work every day to solve the mistakes of Krypton's past, people who are trying to make Earth fairer, or just better. These people dedicate their lives to this work, and some have even given their lives to it. This planet, these . . . these people, they took me in. An alien immigrant from a world they knew nothing about. A world whose legacy threatened their way of life, and their safety, again and again and again. And now, they deserve it in kind because their very existence is threatened by this Worldkiller of Kryptonian making." She looked down at her hands, then took a deep breath. "The lives of the man I am going to marry and his son, both of whom I would give my life for without hesitation because I love them so much, are threatened. The lives of my brothers and sisters and friends are threatened because of the mistakes made from Krypton. My mother tells me Argo City has changed, that it has learned from the mistakes of Krypton's past. So, I beg you," she looked back up and around. "Give us the gift of Harun-El. We don't need very much. And this bit of charity, it will save Earth."

The woman in white's eyes widened in shock, and Jul-Us's jaw set. "Well said, Kara Zor-El," he said stiffly. "I understand your concern for those you have found, but my concern is for those you left behind. I'm afraid we cannot spare the Harun-El."

Kara flinched violently, closing her eyes and bowing her head.

***

Alex's chase of the man trying to kill her took her across several rooftops in National City, even across a distance there was no way she would make after the man cut the wires he ziplined down. Oh, come on, Slade, she wished before she jumped, putting as much power into her legs as she could so she could reach the other building.

She missed the roof, but she grabbed on to the edge by her fingertips. She winced at the impact she got, one of her hands losing its grip. She dangled by one hand, swallowing when she saw the drop to the ground, then heard footsteps approach. "Hello, Agent Danvers," her attempted killer looked down at her, gun aimed at her face. "That was a neat trick with your Martian pet."

Alex tried to get her other hand back up, but her grip kept slipping. She wrung her hand out, trying to get feeling back into it, then looked up when she saw the man take his sunglasses off. She blinked, then frowned. "I recognize you."

"Not me," he shook his head. "My twin brother. And you should. After all, you arrested him."

Alex winced, getting her other hand up. "He was on Fort Rozz," she spat. "He killed twelve people!"

"Lies!" he roared, cocking his gun.

A bullet fired out of nowhere, and he yelled in pain when his hand was hit, making him drop his gun. Alex took the opportunity to push herself up from the edge of the building, flipping in midair and knocking her attacker to the ground. She drew her gun and put her boot on his chest, aiming at him. As Slade rounded where he had come from, gun aimed and drawn, Oliver shot one of his grappling arrows, wrapping her attacker up. J'onn flew down and surveyed their work, and Alex gave Slade a smile. "Thanks," she said.

"You're welcome," he nodded.

***

"Who votes with me?" Jul-Us asked, raising his hand.

Two others chose as he did, and Alura asked, "And those who believe we should help the people of Earth in their time of need?" Three councilors, including Alura, raised their hands, which left just the councilwoman in white, who Kara turned to hopefully. "And how do you vote, Selena?" Alura asked.

Selena looked at Kara consideringly. "If this Reign is as strong as you say she is, are you sure this plan will work?" she asked.

"I am," Kara nodded, playing with her ring anxiously.

Selena's eyes dipped down to her ring, then she smiled. "We will give you what you seek," she declared.

Kara could have collapsed in relief, but she settled for smiling widely through her tears of joy. "Thank you," she whispered, and Alura mirrored her smile as Selena nodded.

***

"Argo was spared the fate of the rest of Krypton," Selena told Kara as she and Mon-El were escorted back to J'onn's ship. "But what value is our civilization if we don't use our stolen time to right the sins of the past? We must set an example for future generations, or else our survival means nothing."

She extended the bag she held to Kara, and she took it reverently. "Thank you," she said sincerely, opening the bag and looking inside.

The black rock winked purple light at her before dimming. "May Rao's light shine upon you," Selena bowed, then stepped back.

Alura took her place, and Mon-El smiled. "It was a pleasure meeting you," he told her. "I'm very fond of your daughter, as are many others on Earth and across time. You should be very proud of what she's become."

"I am," Alura said with a smile, walking up to Kara. "It's amazing that something so small and unremarkable could hold the key to so much survival." Kara nodded in agreement, then Alura held out a small box. "For you."

Kara took it, looking at the emblem on top, then swallowed. "The last time I left you, I thought I'd never see you again," she said quietly. "I know better now."

Alura smiled. "Now, go save your friend and your family," she said. "Earth is waiting for its hero."

Kara nodded determinedly, and she and Mon-El hurried to the ship.

Alex sat outside the D.E.O., tapping her fingers anxiously on the steps, when she heard J'onn walk up. "Hey," he smiled. "We just finished interrogating your attacker. He's from Naja Falk 7. He was able to tell us apart with his heightened sense of smell."

Alex scoffed. "A whole list of suspects from my past, and he wasn't even on it."

"Yeah," J'onn nodded, turning to leave.

"You know, when you first approached me about working at the D.E.O., I was failing med school, I was drunk, and I was completely lost," Alex recalled, sniffing. "But you, J'onn . . . you gave me purpose. You know, something to stand up for, something to devote my life to. But today, I risked my life for it. You know, I jumped straight across without hesitating, without even thinking. And to be honest, I mean, that wasn't even the tallest building that I have jumped off of in the line of duty."

"You are someone who makes the hard choices, Alex," J'onn nodded, walking over to join her. "You go the extra mile."

"Yeah, exactly," Alex agreed. "And that's who I am. It's just baked into me. You know, jumping buildings, making enemies, that's all part of the job." She sighed as he sat next to her. "But the irony here is that the thing that I had to do to save myself is the very same thing that could have killed me. I mean, one more inch, and I would have died. And then . . . "

She gestured helplessly to Ruby, who was watching Winn work with a smile on her face. "She has the rest of us, too, Alex," J'onn reminded her. "She wouldn't be alone."

"But she would have lost someone else," Alex pointed out. "I broke up with Maggie because I wanted to be a mother. And one day, I will be, you know, whether I'm with somebody or if I'm doing it by myself. I know that's what I want, and I know that that is who I am, just like I know that I'm the person that's gonna jump the building to stop the bad guy. And I – " She gulped, feeling tears sting her eyes. "I keep wondering . . . I mean, can those two people coexist? And is that fair? Is it fair to the person that I'm coming home to?"

"Hey, come on," J'onn whispered, taking her hand and squeezing tightly. "Look, you may be the person who jumps the building to stop the bad guy, but you're also one of the most intelligent and intuitive women I know. You're an incredible agent and I know you're going to be an incredible mother. So when the time is right, I know you'll make the choice that's right for you." He pointed, and Alex looked up to see Oliver look at something William was showing him, Evelyn peering over his shoulder while Rene laughed with Zoe. "And you have many people who will be with you every step of the way who have been in the shoes you one day may be in."

Alex smiled through tears. "Thank you," she whispered, leaning her head on his shoulder.

J'onn nodded, kissing the top of her head. As Alex relaxed again her mentor, she saw Slade look her way, an eyebrow raised in concern. She gave him a small smile in response, and Slade nodded, turning back to join Malcolm and Laurel.

***

Lena flinched when she heard the forcefield spasm. "There's no one to pray to," Reign sneered. "There is no god. There is no Rao. There is nothing except you and me . . . and that kill switch you think I haven't noticed, the one thing that will end me before I end you."

"What is with every supervillain monologuing?" Max wondered, trying to take Lena's mind off her friend. "Did I ever do that?"

Lena cracked a small smile, which vanished when Reign spoke again. "You're strong," she whispered. "Ruthless. You are so much darker than you realize. You're just like me."

"You wish," Lena choked out, voice shaking.

"I don't have to wish," Reign shook her head. "I'm standing right here. I can see it with my own eyes. The same eyes that will set fire to you and your world if you don't press that button and end me."

"How much is left?" Max asked.

Lena slid the Kryptonite increase on her tablet, and Reign simply smirked as her veins faintly glowed green, but just as quickly faded. "That's it," she whispered.

Reign threw a hard punch, and the forcefield finally failed. "Back!" Max grabbed Lena and yanked her back as D.E.O. men surged forward, guns aimed at the free Worldkiller.

A rush of wind blew past them, and Max had never been so grateful to hear Kara's voice. "Lena! Max!"

"Did you get the rock?" Lena called.

Mon-El held up the bag in response, and Reign smirked. "Just in time," she spat, yanking the Kryptonite syringe off her and running forward.

Kara leapt forward to meet her, and Mon-El ran past them. As Reign punched Kara into the wall and screamed at the D.E.O. agents, he pressed the bag into Lena's hands. "We'll keep her busy," he said.

"Let's go," Max nodded.

Lena nodded, and they moved over to her lab station to work. As Mon-El and Kara fought Reign with all their might, Max manipulated the rock to cut off a small portion, Lena taking over to melt the rock down. Kara wrapped her cape around Reign's neck and Mon-El wrapped his around her leg, and they yanked Reign head over heels to knock her to the ground. When she was pinned by Kara, Lena drew the solution into a syringe and slid it across the floor to Mon-El, who scooped it off the ground and injected it into Reign's neck.

The Worldkiller screamed in pain, and before their eyes, they watched her veins and eyes glow the same orange gold that Olivia had glowed when she had turned into a Worldkiller. she seemed to split in two before their eyes, Reign floating into the air and continuing to glow the same color before she fizzled out into sparks. Kara quickly threw her cape over the woman still on the floor, though the sparks were harmless on her.

Lena, though, was completely focused on the brunette still on the ground, her eyes closed. "Sam?" she asked, her voice trembling. "Can you hear me?"

The brunette stirred. "I need a . . . " She sounded very groggy. "Do you have some aspirin?"

Kara laughed, startled, and Max whooped in delight as Lena cheered.

***

"How do you feel?" Kara asked quietly when Sam had gotten back in normal clothing and was lying in the D.E.O. medical bay.

"It's a cliché," Sam mumbled. "But I feel like I got hit by a bus."

Kara blushed, making Lena grin. "Sorry," she whispered.

There was a knock on the door, and Sam lifted her head to see Oliver peer in. "Hey," he smiled.

"Hi," Sam raised her hand, then did a double take. "Is that the Green Arrow suit?"

Oliver looked down at his uniform, and he smiled. "Guilty as charged."

Sam's eyes widened in shock, and she turned to the blonde superheroine by her bed. "Kara?" she whispered. Kara waved sheepishly, and Sam swallowed. "Oh, my God."

"It's OK, Sam," Kara told her, shaking her head. "We're all OK."

Oliver nodded in agreement. "See?" he shifted to the side.

Sam looked past him, and her eyes widened further when she saw Ruby cautiously walk in. "Mom?" she asked, voice wavering.

"Ruby," Sam breathed, scrambling to sit up. Ruby ran across the room to hug her tightly, and as Sam clung to her daughter, applause rippled through the rest of the vigilante team watching them reunite. Sam ignored them for a moment, choosing to look instead at the coloring at the ends of Ruby's hair. "Oh, look at your hair!"

"Do you like it?" she asked shyly.

"Yes," Sam nodded determinedly. "I love it." She smiled. "I love you."

Ruby beamed and cuddled against her, and Sam kissed the side of her head. When she looked up, her eyes widened when she saw not only Kara, Lena, Alex, and Oliver, but also everyone she had met from before she became Reign: Slade and Malcolm and Laurel, Rene and Dinah and Curtis, Winn and J'onn and that Max person, and three she didn't know, a brunette woman in a black jumpsuit, a dark-haired girl in a leather jacket, and another dark-haired girl in a striped sweater. The adults were all in vigilante gear she recognized . . . which meant all of them had fought her while she was Reign, and all of them had worked to bring her back.

Overwhelmed, all she could do was mouth "Thank you" to everyone and smile through her tears when all of them smiled back at her.

***

"You two worked really well to make that cure," Kara told Lena and Max as they stepped away to give Sam and Ruby time to themselves.

"Says the woman who went to outer space to get that rock," Max countered.

Kara smirked, then looked between them. "You two have been able to create Kryptonite before," she said. "Can you make more of the Black Rock?"

Lena thought. "Possibly," she nodded. "Why?"

"It's called Harun-El," Kara explained. "The meteoroid we found it on is inhabited. It's a precious resource there, but they sacrificed some to help us."

Lena immediately nodded. "I'll get to work on it immediately."

"Thank you," Kara smiled.

"I'll give you a hand," Max offered. "Better to make something helpful than a mind-controlling rock."

"Uh, yes please," Kara snorted.

Max playfully shoved at her shoulder, and Kara shoved him away, and laughing, Max walked off with Lena. Kara watched them leave, shifting from foot to foot, then heard Oliver clear his throat behind her. "Did I hear that correctly?" he asked, making Kara turn around to see him and William standing there. "Harun-El?"

"Yeah," Kara nodded, biting her lip and trying not to grin.

William blinked. "That sounds Kryptonian," he said, a curious look on his face.

Kara finally let loose her grin. "It was Argo."

Oliver blinked, recognizing the name. "Your home city," he recalled.

"Yeah," Kara nodded eagerly. "That was the city we found on the meteoroid."

"It was?" William's eyes brightened.

"Yes!" Kara smiled gleefully. "Part of Krypton is still alive!"

"Kara, that's amazing," Oliver grinned, seeing how happy she was. "Did anyone you know . . . ?"

He left the question open, but the tears forming in Kara's eyes and her ear-splitting grin answered his question before she ever did. "My mom," she said in a rush.

Oliver's jaw dropped. "Your mom?" he repeated.

"Yes!" Kara nodded wildly, and William matched her grin. "My mom!"

"Your mom is alive?" William repeated, just to make sure.

"Yes!" Kara nodded, and William cheered, rushing forward to hug her.

"Kara, that is great," Oliver hugged her as well, kissing her in happiness.

"It doesn't feel real," Kara sighed, leaning her head on his shoulder and squeezing William. "But it is. I saw her, I listened to her voice, I touched her, I hugged her . . . my mom has been alive all these years, living in the city where I grew up."

"How did it look?" William asked eagerly. "How was it?"

"Well, a lot of it's destroyed, but most of it's been rebuilt," Kara explained. "And it's exactly the same." She shimmied out of their grasps and walked over to the table she had set her mother's box down on. "Like, I never thought that I would smell the Dar-Essa flower again, but look." She opened the box and removed a small bud in a jar, and William immediately came closer to take a look. "There are dozens of them."

William cradled the jar in his hands and sniffed curiously. He held it up to Oliver, who did the same as him, and he chuckled. "I can't imagine what that felt like."

"It just . . . " Kara sighed happily. "Felt like home."

William looked up at her uncertainly. "Do you wanna go back?" he asked timidly.

Kara blinked, then smiled and crouched down. "Yes, I do," she said truthfully, reaching up and cupping his cheek when he looked down. "And I want to take the two of you with me."

William's head shot up, and even Oliver blinked rapidly. "What?" the archer asked in disbelief.

"I rediscovered my home and my mother," Kara smiled as she stood up, looking at him. "I've seen Star City and Lian Yu on your Earth. You've seen National City here, and now I can finally truly show you part of Krypton." She grinned. "Not to mention my mom wants to meet you both."

"Really?" William perked up.

"El mayarah," Kara said simply, putting a hand on his shoulder.

"Stronger together," Oliver translated with a smile, cupping her cheek. "When do you want to go back?"

Kara opened her mouth to answer, but a scream from the medical bay made all three of them jump. Kara quickly zoomed to the medical bay, and William caught the flower hastily handed to him by his dad. He carefully set it down on the table again before running to see what was wrong.

Sam and Ruby were staring at the breach that had appeared from nowhere, and Kara blinked when out jumped Caitlin and Iris, Iris's arm in a sling. "Guys!" she greeted in surprise, Oliver blinking when he saw them.

"Hey," Caitlin began before she paused, seeing the wide-eyed brunette on the bed. "Sam?" she gasped in delight.

"We got her back!" Kara beamed happily as everyone else started crowding around.

"That's amazing!" Iris smiled, but there was a sadness to it. "Really, that's great."

"What was that?" Sam asked nervously.

"That was a breach," Ruby grinned. "It's from another universe, like Oliver and William and his friends."

"Another Earth?"  Sam gawked.

"Yeah," Oliver scratched the back of his head. "It's a long story."

"But . . . " Kara held up her hands. "What's going on? Why are you here?"

"Where's Barry?" Oliver added, looking around.

Caitlin took a deep breath. "We need your help on our Earth."

"What're we up against?" Kara immediately asked.

***

And with this episode done, we're down to only three episodes before the finales book . . . I mean, what?!

I'm really excited to dive into "Fury Rogue," so keep an eye out for when an update might come! There's a lot of original content and reworking the story I need to do to fit with what I made "Crisis on Earth-X" into, but hopefully it's a rewrite everyone will enjoy.
