Chara arrives at Undyne's house. They know this is a horrible idea, but they gotta try. "Hello Chara!" Papayrus greets, "are you ready to hang out with Undyne?"

"Yeah," Chara smiles, "sounds fun." Papayrus knocks on the door. Undyne answers.

"Hey Paps," Undyne greets, "you here for your training?"

"Yeah," Papayrus smiles, "and I brought a friend!"

Undyne remembers what Frisk told them about the RESET. She knows it's gonna be Chara.

"Good for you," Undyne fakes a smile, "come on in, both of you."

Chara and Papayrus go inside.

"I'd love to stay," Papayrus explains, "but I just remembered, I have a spaghetti casserole in the oven. Excuse me."

Papayrus jumps out the window. Chara considers the possibility that Undyne will attack. After all, she may have spared them, but this is probably way overstepping the truce.

"So," Undyne sighs, "you've come to befreind me to reach the True Lab?"

"I don't know what that is, but I'm gonna assume that the answer is yes," Chara replies.

Undyne smirks, "sorry Asgore," she sighs, "but I can't let the kid get away with this."

Undyne starts a FIGHT. "I thought I could turn a blind eye," she explains, "that I could just let you go, but I can't. Knowing what you did, I can't let you win. You will never replace Frisk, and after they RESET, everything will go back to normal, as if you never got a soul. Asgore will move on from your death on the surface as he did before, but I'll give you a FIGHTing chance. Take the first strike, come on!"

Chara clutches their locket. They don't want to FIGHT. They offer MERCY. Undyne does not respond. Undyne checks their ACT menu. They can fake hit. They fake hit.

Undyne is to shocked to respond for a moment, then replies, "heh, you really are just like Frisk aren't you? ... I can't do this. You didn't have a soul back then, I can't blame you for what you did. Listien, give this letter to Alphys and just play along. Afterwards, head to her lab. After that... it's best you see for yourself. Good luck kid."

Undyne is clearly saddened, but offers MERCY. Chara almost accepts it, but then checks their ACT menu. They can talk. So they do.

"Are you OK?" Chara asks.

"Yeah," Undyne replies, "it's just... you and Frisk, you're both really good people, but, you can't both be alive at any given time. It's kinda sad, you know?"

Chara clutches their locket. They remember killing Frisk. The weight of their sins begins to return. "I know all to well," Chara replies, "but that's not your burden to bear. It's mine. It's my fault Frisk is gone, but I can't go back to being soulless. No matter the cost. See you later Undyne."

Chara leaves and follows Undyne's instructions. After the date with Alphys, they go to her lab. They find Alphys's note, and see the door to the True Lab wide open. They go inside...
