Chara begins to near The Core. They managed to get past Muffet without much difficulty. Frisk had killed Muffet after Muffet offered MERCY, allowing Chara to learn her attacks.

Grilby approaches Chara. "Hey kid," he greets, "can I talk to you for a second?"

"Sure," Chara replies, "how can I help you?"

"What can you tell me," Grilby inquiries, "about the resets?"

Chara's whole body goes tense as they prepare to douge. They know Grilby is going to attack.

"How much do you know?" Chara asks.

"Very little."

"Then where do I start? Uhhhhh... how about we just talk about this later?"

"Don't let them escape!" Frisk demands.

Grilby starts a FIGHT. "Sorry kid," he explains, "but you aren't leaving until I get answers." Grilby ignites the MERCY option.

Chara checks Grilby.

Grilby. 20 atk 20 def. You killed all his customers Chara. Do you remember?

Chara ignores Frisk.

Grilby doesn't attack, and awaits Chara's response.

Chara looks at their options. They can check, which didn't help matters, or they can explain. They choose to explain.

"So," Chara begins, "the most DETERMINED person in the world can save and return to that point in time. They can also reset entirely. That's about it."

"What they didn't tell you," Frisk explains, "is that they forced me to kill everyone. No, that's not right. THEY killed everyone. I can break the barrier Grilby, but I need a soul. Kill them."

"What's wrong with you?" Grilby asks, "I'm not gonna kill the kid!"

Through DETERMINATION, Frisk takes control. "Oh you will," Frisk smirks, "want to or not, you will."

Frisk forces Grilby to FIGHT. Chara douges. They don't realize that Grilby is being controlled. They don't even consider the possibility, as they never knew Grilby had LOVE.

Chara tries to ACT. Their options have changed. They can now check and plead. Chara tries to plead. Frisk doesn't respond, and instead attacks again.

Chara continues to plead...

Meanwhile, Gaster keeps douging. Frisk forces Undyne to attack over and over again.

"Undyne fight back!" Gaster yells.

Undyne tries to overcome Frisk, but Frisk is to DETERMINED.

Frisk FIGHTS again. Gaster douges. Gaster decides to keep missing. He selects FIGHT and misses intentionally.

"Undyne," Gaster pleads, "think about Asgore. Think about how happy he'll be to see Chara. Fight back!"

Undyne fights back! Now DETERMINED to regain control. She thinks about Asgore, as close to a father as she ever had. She manages to overcome Frisk.

Undyne uses MERCY, ending the FIGHT. "You OK?" Gaster asks.

"Let's make one thing clear," Undyne growls, "I'm only letting you and Chara live for Asgore. They will NEVER be my friend. Understand?"

"Sure."

"Good. Now I'm outta here."

Undyne leaves. Gaster sighs. Chara has to befreind Undyne to get access to the True Lab and Chara needs to access the True Lab to break the barrier. Gaster knows things just got a whole lot worse...

Chara douges again. They start to grow tired, sweating from the heat. Grilby fights back. He gets control for a moment. "Kid..." he pleads, "I can't stop them... run..."

Frisk regains control. Chara realizes what's going on. They take a unisicle from their inventory and use it on the MERCY option.

"Just die already!" Frisk yells. Frisk attacks with everything Grilby has. Chara narrowly douges. They use MERCY to flee."

"Dammit!" Frisk yells. They let Grilby go. Knowing he won't be useful anymore. Frisk decides to go with a new plan. Through DETERMINATION, Frisk tries to contact Mettaton.

"Hello Mettaton," Frisk smiles, "remember me?"
