Chapter 16: Psychopath
Disclaimer: HP is not mine.

Harry's POV
"Gin...do you think we should try Hermione's place again now?" I asked tentatively.
"It's only been three days, Harry! Give the poor girl some space!" She scowled over at me.
"Okay, okay, calm down!"
"It's not like she's your girlfriend or something!" She huffed.
"You're right, she's not." I said. "But you aren't either."
She flushed with contrition. "I'm sorry...I shouldn't have--"
"Would you like to be my girlfriend?" I interrupted.
She stared at me, gaping and speechless.
I froze. Oh no...this was a terrible idea, what had I been thinking?
"I'm so sorry, I--"
"Yes!" Ginny yelled, throwing her arms around me.
I smiled and hugged her back, mentally cheering and giving myself a clap on the back.
She pulled back and smiled up at me.
"Harry?"
"Hmm?"
"Why are you patting your own shoulder?"
"Oh...umm..."
And then we were somehow kissing.

Hermione's POV
I woke up feeling surprisingly energized.
That was before I looked down and found myself wearing a hospital gown, lying on a hospital bed, with a dozen potions on the bedside table.
I frowned.
I was obviously at St. Mungos, that much I could gather from my surroundings. But who had brought me here, and why was I here? I wasn't sick. I wasn't hurt. I was perfectly fine. I felt perfectly fine.
I quickly raised my head to the sound of approaching footsteps. Maybe whoever was coming could clarify a few things for me.
Head Healer Crax walked into the room and locked the door behind her.
I fidgeted a little. Locked doors were never a good idea. I tried using wandless magic to unlock it while she was walking towards me with her back to the door.
It didn't work.
They had put up magic-cancelling fields?
This was bad. Very very bad.
I looked up at Head Healer Crax and attempted to sound calm and unaware of the situation.
"Good morning, Head Healer Crax."
"It's nighttime now, Ms Granger." She replied pleasantly. "I'm afraid you've been out for three days."
"Three days!" I yelped.
"Yes, three days. It is very understandable for you to be shocked, but I assure you that you are under the best care in St. Mungos, and there is nothing to be worried about." Head Healer Crax soothed.
"What are those potions?" I asked. I needed to know what they were going to drug me with. I didn't need to be unconscious, whatever it was they were planning.
"Oh, those?" Head Healer Crax looked abnormally cheerful. "Those are weight gain potions, nutrition potions, vitamin supplement potions, organ support potions, Skelegrow for your osteoporosis, muscle regrowth prompting potions, some hormone regulator potions, and a Dreamless Sleep potion."
"Weight ga--" I gasped, unable to finish the terrible word. "No! No, no, no...i can't drink that, please don't make me drink that..."
"Oh honey, but you've been doing so much damage to yourself lately, haven't you? We've just helped you a bit by magicking those in you while you've been sleeping. You're not the strong war heroine you once were anymore, are you?" She sniggered. "You've gone...soft."
I reached down beneath the blankets to feel the softness of all the new fat I had gained. I prodded at my grossly distended gut and rubbed at my jutting hipbones frantically. They certainly seemed alarmingly more padded than before.
My breathing was getting heavier and heavier, and I could feel nothing but unrelenting, pure panic. I could see nothing, hear nothing but white...white walls and white noise. I gasped desperately for air, trying to throw myself out of bed to unlock the door.
A pair of hands restrained me. I tried to bite them. Someone screamed.
Dimly I heard someone yelling for security, and soon multiple hands were gripping tightly onto my flailing arms and legs. I struggled, hard.
No. They couldn't do this to me. They couldn't.
I screamed, kicking and punching at whatever I could, even resorting to headbutting a few indiscernible limbs away.
Someone poured a potion down my throat. I choked, spitting whatever I could out.
But it was too late. I could feel the effects of Dreamless Sleep taking over my body, making it limp and submissive.
No! My mind screamed.
My traitorous body gave up the fight and succumbed to the potion, conveniently ignoring my protesting brain.
The last thing I remembered hearing was the clang of a closing gate and the slam of a door.
Wait...a gate?
For the umpteenth time this week...there was nothing.

Draco's POV
They hadn't fed me or given me water for...I didn't know how long.
I didn't understand. How could they forget to feed the psychopath? I was a perfectly friendly one, too, not to mention actually sane! Surely I deserved food and water!
There were no windows in the room, just blinding, luminous white walls that never ceased their glowing.
I had no idea how much time had passed, or what time or day it was.
My fist was tingling unpleasantly, bloody and bruised from when I punched the wall in a fit of rage much, much earlier...when I still had enough strength to.
The white walls remained as white as they ever were, taunting me with their untainted bright glow.
I scowled at them contemptuously. They were just walls! What hold did they have over me?
A lot, apparently.
I had had to piss in a corner, and even that did not seem to have any effect on the room whatsoever. The liquid had been absorbed quickly by the white floor, and no smell, colour or odor had remained. I was undecided as to whether that was a good thing or not.
I wondered absently whether they would decide to rain my own piss on me later for amusement.
What? The pee had to have gone somewhere.
I had a sudden wish to follow it. Anywhere had to be better than here.
Merlin...at this rate I would be crazy soon enough.
I made a mental note to get a grip.
I slumped down in a corner of the room (not the one I had peed in, how disgusting do you think I am?), trying to ignore the aching of my stomach, fist...and everything, really. Everything hurt.
The door to the room opened suddenly.
I tensed. Surely they weren't going to give me a real psychologist?
The gates grated up slowly, making a terrible screeching sound that hurt my ears.
A thrashing and screaming woman was thrown into the room and a potion was shoved down her throat. Her struggles subsided, leading me to the conclusion that it must have been a sleeping potion of some kind.
I slipped cautiously through the doorway, hoping for a chance to escape while the guards were preoccupied with the new...guest. No such opportunity presented itself, however, and I was thrown back into the cell roughly by a pair of guards stationed at the entrance before I could so much as say "Voldy Moldy".
It was such a shame, really. I imagine the looks on their faces would have been worth a good laugh or two.
They pointed their wands at me threateningly, and I was painfully reminded of the fact that I didn't have one, and that the room had a magic-cancelling field.
Wait. The room had a magic-cancelling field! They couldn't hurt me!
I tried to stick my tongue out at them childishly, but my jaw refused to cooperate, shooting a jolt of pure agony up my nerves. I hadn't opened my mouth to speak, eat or even drink water for days, probably. No wonder my most attractive asset wasn't working like it was supposed to.
I sighed silently as the gates slid shut with a clang and the white door slammed behind it.
There went that opportunity.
To stick my tongue out at the guards, I mean.
Duh.
A/N: Whoop! Two updates in a week, isn't that awesome?! This chappie is over 1K words lol...only best for my favourite readers!! <3
Harry and Ginny seem to have it real easy, don't they? No Blaise or Pansy in this chapter, but they'll appear eventually. The big question is...where is Hermione now? And Draco realised something...no one can hurt him with magic when he's in the room! What do you think Head Healer Crax has in mind for the two of them? Does the mysterious favour Pansy needs from Blaise have anything to do with these events?
Well...I guess you'll find out at the next chappie :P Muahahaha...I feel so evil typing that line :)
Anyway, thanks so much everyone for voting and continuing to read this story! I hope I haven't disappointed!
Love you guys <3
