Chapter 36

The next day, Team Seven tried to get help in trying to see Kakashi's face. All their attempts failed today and they told me how he was going to take off his mask but had another one underneath.

I couldn't help but laugh at that. Sounds like him.

I told them I had other plans today, so I couldn't help them even if bothering Kakashi is fun. I had to find Tsunade to ask her for her input on trying to remember a suppressed memory, so I got ready for the day and quickly walked to the Hokage's Tower.

I knocked on her door since I overheard her berating some kid for not knocking before walking in.

"Come in!"

She looked confused when she saw me. "I don't have any missions for you, is something wrong?"

"I just needed to talk to you about something," I said. "You're a medic so that's why I want to ask you,"

She motioned for me to sit on the chair that was in front of her desk and looked at me curiously. "What's going on?"

"I know this is weird to ask, but how do you remember a repressed memory?"

She looked surprised at my question. She kind of knows what my past was like. I didn't give her the full story, just the summarized version.

She gave me a questioning look and I sighed.

"I just need to remember something specific, so I can make sense of something that happened to me," I answered as vaguely as possible.

"Well, finding things that would trigger that memory would be your best bet. Keep a journal and write stuff down, so you can piece things together. I advise you to be careful though and don't do anything that might cause more harm than good," She replied, giving me a concerned look.

I bowed to show my gratitude. "Thank you Lady Tsunade. I'll be careful,"

I left after that and went back home to start up the process again. I still had both drawings on my dining table, so I sat down and started staring at the mask to get any memories. Nothing came to mind and I didn't even realize I passed out in the middle of writing down my dream from the other night.

I woke up and realized I was in the same area again. I looked down at my body, seeing the clothes I wore in the past, and saw the tailed beast bomb heading towards me again.

Again, I heard the cry of the Nine-Tails and was grabbed once again.

"I told you to stay back!" Minato scolded once again. "I can't have you getting yourself killed, do you understand that if that tailed beast bomb hit you, that would've been the end?"

I knew this was a dream, but seeing Uncle Minato again really hurt and brought back painful memories of the past. I didn't reply to him, causing him to sigh and he started telling me to leave.

I immediately looked over at the spot where that man was. He was staring right back at me.

"Hana, leave right now!"

I ignored his calls and started moving towards the bushy-haired man.

"Hana, what are you doing? Go!"

I further ignored Minato and studied the mask. I shut my eyes in annoyance when it was just another blank face. When I opened them, I gasped and finally saw the mask.

I woke up and immediately grabbed the pen and started sketching the mask from my dream. I disregarded the notebook I had and held up the two drawings to compare. I felt at loss for words when I realized just how similar these two masks are. Yeah, the patterns are completely different, but they had the same eye-hole and they're not too far off from each other.

It had to have been him.

But what did he want from me? He clearly knows I'm the same person from back then. It couldn't have been a coincidence that I ran into him twice.

I nearly fell out of my seat when there was another knock on my door. I put my hand over my chest and then stood up to answer the door.

It was Kurenai and Anko.

"Hey, what are you guys up to?" I ask.

They slipped their shoes off and walked inside. I quickly rushed over to my dining table and flipped over the papers I had.

Kurenai rose an eyebrow at that.

"Is everything alright?"

"Yup!" I said. "These are just a...uh...sketch that I did of the Hokage faces! It's not good though, I kind of stopped drawing like I used to!"

I quickly rushed to my room with the papers and put them on my bed, then rushed back out to the living room. It wasn't a total lie. I used to be into drawing when I was younger, but I stopped after the war happened.

"So, what did you guys stop by for?" I changed the subject.

Anko held out a bag for me to take. "I just wanted to drop off some special tea leaves I got from a mission I went on last weekend. I was just so busy and forgot to drop it off, so I thought I'd do it now,"

I took the bag and looked at the tea leaves she brought me.

"They're from the Land of Tea," Anko said. "It's a special blend and I thought you would really like it,"

I smiled at the kind gesture and put the tea leaves in my cupboard where I keep my teacups and leaves. "Well thank you, I really appreciate it,"

"And we all wanted to get together at the hot springs, since we had to cancel on you that last time," Kurenai added. "I already told Naomi and she's on her way there,"

"Oh," I was surprised. "Well let me get out of my pajamas and I'll be ready,"

I went to my room to change and liked how they remembered that we were supposed to have a girl's day. I quickly got changed and then we left for the hot springs. Hopefully, a certain someone wouldn't be peeking in once again.

We saw Naomi waiting at the entrance and she gave me a teasing smirk. "You took forever. I thought I was gonna get grey hairs waiting on you,"

"Oh you know," I shrug. "That same black cat again,"

Naomi rolled her eyes and I laughed after that. We went inside the hot springs and the water felt nice on my muscles. It was nice to finally be able to do this with them, but even as we all talked, I could not get the masked man out of my head. I hated how he haunted my thoughts. I needed to find out who he is.
