Oops
I forgot to post this yesterday

"Harry Potter: The Musical!" Lauren exclaimed, waving her hands around.

"Harry Potter..." Darren repeated, a confused expression on his face, "The musical?"

"Harry Potter: The Musical." Dylan echoed, nodding in agreement as he entered Darren's kitchen, slinging an arm over Lauren's shoulders.

"Harry Potter?" Joey's head appeared first before his body followed as he stepped around the door, "Did someone say Harry Potter?"

"Yeah, I did." Lauren grinned, "I was thinking; since Darren is new and all, we should do another group project!"

Joey hummed, eyeing Darren's overwhelmed expression before nodding slowly, "Like a sort of bonding exercise?"

"Yes! Exactly like a bonding exercise." Lauren answered, her words echoed by a pair of dreadful groans as Joe and Meredith entered the room.

"My kitchen is too small for this many friends." Darren muttered, his protests going unheard.

"Not another one of Lauren's 'bonding exercises'." Meredith whined, making air quotes with her fingers.

"Remember what happened in your last bonding exercise?" Joe shivered.

"Oh, yes." Lauren shook her head mournfully, "Carter will be missed."

Darren's eyes widened, "Someone died?"

"What?" Lauren shouted, "Why would you even think that?"

"What happened to Carter then?"

"You don't wanna know, man." Joe shook his head, patting Darren's shoulder sympathetically.

Darren exhaled deeply, shaking his head in disbelief. How he'd managed to go from only having a boyfriend and one friend to single with too many friends to count, in under a week, was beyond him.

"Wait, what even is the bonding exercise you have in mind?" Joey asked.

"Harry Potter: The Musical." Lauren exclaimed, waving her hands around.

"Harry Potter..." Joey repeated, a confused expression on his face, "The musical?"

"Harry Potter: The Musical." Darren echoed, nodding solemnly as he perched on a kitchen stool, slinging an arm onto the kitchen table.

"Harry Potter?" Joe's head popped up, the man having had his head resting on his arms previously, "Did you say Harry Potter?"

"I'm having serious deja vu right now." Darren mumbled.

"Yeah, I did." Lauren grinned, ignoring Darren, "I was thinking; since we're all hardcore potterheads, we should do another group project! A Harry Potter based one!"

"I like this idea." Bonnie smiled, the rest of the group jumping at the sound of her voice.

"How long have you been stood there for?" Joey exclaimed, holding a hand over his heart and breathing deeply.

"I- Joey, I was literally here before you." Bonnie frowned, glancing around, "Did no one notice me?"

"You're very quiet." Darren shrugged.

"Oh, and you're not?" Bonnie raised an eyebrow.

"Touché." Darren smirked.

"Anyway," Lauren spoke slowly, "Of course you like the idea; its an amazing idea."

"Who would be who?" Joe asked.

"Well, you would be Severus Snape because you're a moody little shit who needs to shower more." Lauren pointed, laughing when Joe pouted.

"I think Darren should be Harry." Joey called, "And I should be Ron."

"You just want to be my best friend so bad." Darren wiggles his eyebrows.

"And I should be Ginny."

"And you just want to be my girl friend so bad." Darren closed his eyes and blushed when he realised what he said, "I didn't mean- it was- it's just that-"

"Damn," Lauren clicked her tongue, "You saw right through me."

Looking up, Darren caught Lauren's inquisitive gaze, staring back for only a few seconds before someone had cleared their throat and the moment was gone.

"I want to be Ginny." Jaime pouted after entering the kitchen and having Meredith catch her up on what was going on.

"But I called it." Lauren pouted, "Fine, Jaime can be Ginny."

"So, are you any good at singing?" Joey asked Darren when the majority of their friends had settled down in his parents' living room. His brother was away visiting friends and his parents were on a weekend holiday, so he had the house to himself, hence why everyone was gathered there.

"I mean, I don't know." Darren shrugged, "No, not really."

"Thats okay." Dylan sighed, looking around the room and finding a piano, and nodding in it's direction, "Can you play?"

"Can I play?" Darren scoffed, "Of course I can play."

"Go on then, hot shot. Play us something." Lauren raised an eyebrow challengingly.

"Oh, I don't know." Darren shook his head.

"Go on."

"Guys! Have you seen this!" Brian cried, entering the room with a plain black notebook in his hand, "Darren's song book!"

Joey, along with many people in the room, turned their heads very slowly to face Darren, Joey speaking up, "You write songs?"

"Um, I've written a few, I guess."

"A few?" Brian shouted, "Theres only, like, 5 pages of this book left!"

Flicking through the pages of the book and holding it up for everyone to see, they could all tell that Darren certainly had written a little bit more than 'a few'.

"Why were you in my room?" Darren asked, his protests once again going unnoticed.

"You gotta sing us one." Brian shook his head excitedly.

"I don't-"

"Darren, we don't give a shit if you can't sing. We wanna hear your songs, okay?" Lauren stood up to take Darren by the arms, pulling him towards the big black grand piano and sitting him on the stool, resting one hand on each of his shoulders, "Now get your shit together and play."

Swallowing down his nerves, Darren glanced back to meet Lauren's encouraging gaze and took one more glance around the room, finding nothing but understanding and excitement before he turned to Brian and told him to pick a song. Lauren grinned and moved to sit back down.

"I really like this one- Not Alone?"

Nodding shakily, Darren took a last deep breath and grabbed the notebook from Brian, placing it on the music stand and brushing his fingers over the keys.

Then he began playing, closing his eyes and losing himself in the music, just revelling in the melody he was able to create before the words brought meaning to the song that others could understand.

Of course Darren knew what this song meant, he understood, he could feel what his music was feeling without ever singing any words. And that, to him, was the most powerful thing about writing and creating his own music- that one moment of silence when there's no voices- just instruments and their music, and he's the only one who understands.

That was such crack
Why am I like this

Anyway
