"I don't know about this."

"Come on, it'll be fun."

"But-"

"Darren, honey, stop worrying! Nothing is going to go wrong as long as I'm with you."

"Yeah, but-"

"Darren, just stop it. We're doing this, okay? You'll enjoy it, I know you will."

Darren swallowed thickly, sighing and nodding, looking down at his hands which were crossed over in his lap.

He stayed in that position, staring at his hands for a while until he heard Chris fiddling around with his radio and eventually a song he didn't recognise began playing.

A second pair of hands slid over his, turning them over to take his hands in the other's grasp and then he was pulled up and into the other man's warm embrace.

I'll always remember,
the song they were playing,
The first time we danced and I knew

Darren smiled, sniffing and wiping his watery eyes as he listened to the words. They seemed to captivate his and Chris' relationship perfectly. Darren had never heard the song before, but there wasn't a doubt in his mind about the fact that he'd be adding this song to his Chris playlist.

As we swayed to the music,
and held to each other,
I fell in love with you

Darren could feel Chris' shoulders tense ever so slightly and Darren's smile widened only a small amount. If he was able to read the blue eyed man's body language correct- and he was almost certain he could -then it was obvious that Chris felt the same way about him and it wouldn't take long before those three words were said and echoed back.

Chris stepped away from Darren, holding out a hand and speaking along with the beginning line of the chorus, bowing his head slightly.

"Could I have this dance?"

Darren giggled quietly, nodding and sliding his fingers in between Chris' so the man could pull him close, even closer than before.

when we're together
it feels so right,
Could I have this dance
for the rest of my life

They began swaying and Darren sighed happily, burying his face deep into the crook where Chris' neck met his collar bone and breathed in deeply, smelling Chris and only Chris and feeling like he was walking on air.

I'll always remember,
that magic moment,
When I held you close to me

More than he could hear the words being sung, Darren could feel Chris' neck tighten and his jaw move as the other man hummed along quietly, muttering only a few words as he rested his head against the top of Darren's.

As we move together,
I knew forever,
you're all I'll ever need

The feeling Darren was experiencing was unbelievable. It was something he'd never felt before and something he couldn't even begin to describe. If there was just one word to describe the feeling of being completely accepted and loved and adored and cherished, then that would be the word Darren was looking for.

Could I have this dance
for the rest of my life,

Darren supposed that the simple word, 'home' might suffice. The secret and hidden meaning behind the commonly used word; home, was something Darren had never experienced before.

when we're together
it feels so right,

Of course there had been fantasies and wishes where Darren found his home, whether it be a person or a place. But now he came to realise that his home, his current one at least, was with Chris.

Could I have this dance
for the rest of my life

And in that moment, the two men were swaying only slightly, clutching onto each other like any moment the other would disappear, clutching onto the one thing they'd both longed for for so long- love.

Eventually they pulled apart, hands still holding each other's and dangling between their bodies.

"So, will you do it?" Chris spoke eventually.

Raising an eyebrow, Darren replied "I thought you decided for me that we were doing it."

"Darren." Chris began, stopping when he saw Darren's smile and his shoulder shake gently, indicating that he was holding back laughter, "Stop laughing at me."

"I'm not laughing at you." Darren rolled his eyes, "I'll do it. I'm just laughing because you get so easily annoyed."

"So you'll do it?"

"That's what I said." Darren nodded.

It was only two days later when Darren was sat on his boyfriend's bed, watching Chris pace around the room, picking things up every now and then to shove them under the bed or inside a drawer.

"Why're you so worried about this?"

"Why am I- no, Darren, I'm not- I'm not worried." Chris shook his head, bending over to pick up his slippers and shove them under the bed.

"Yes you are. I know you, this is what you do when you're worried. You fidget and feel the need to always be doing something. And that something usually tends to be tidying things up." Darren smirked.

"I'm not- I just want to make sure that you want this. You're not just doing this because it's something I want, are you?"

"No, Chris, that's not why you're worrying. I may know you, but you know me just as well. I'm sure you know that I wouldn't let you pressure me into doing anything." Darren tilted his head, raising an eyebrow at his boyfriend who stared open-mouthed at him for a few seconds before shaking his head and turning around.

"That is the reason. I wouldn't lie to you, this is just something big. Really big, and I don't want you to-" Chris' excuse was cut off by the sound of someone knocking on his door.

"Should I get that?" Darren smiled, "It'll give you some time to get your shit together."

The last thing he saw before he left the bedroom, was Chris' eyes narrowing into a glare. The least he wanted was for his boyfriend to be mad at him, but the man should know not to lie to him.

He reached the front door and pulled it open, smiling widely when he came face-to-face with his new friend; "Joey! What're you doing here- wait, are you the friend Chris wants us to do this with?"

Joey shrugged, "Guilty as charged. Did he not tell you it was me?"

Darren shook his head, opening the door wider so Joey could step into Chris' apartment, the man glancing around briefly to take in the area before Darren led him through to the bedroom where Chris was still pottering around.

"Joey's here." Chris jumped slightly at the sudden voice, looking up to see Darren and Joey watching him.

"Oh, hi!" The blue-eyes man grinned, stepping forward to hug Joey tightly.

"Why didn't you tell me it was Joey who was-"

"I didn't think it was important." Chris shrugged, Darren watching as Chris stared into Joey's eyes, seemingly trying to communicate something to the man without using words.

Joey nodded subtly and Darren sighed, closing his eyes and wondering what he'd got himself into. He had no clue what the exchange between his boyfriend and Joey meant, but he hoped it wasn't anything bad.

Deciding to let it slide, Darren swallowed his nerves and clapped his hands together, putting on a brave face and looking between the two other men who finally tore their gazes off of each other to look at Darren, "So, should we do this?"

Oh
It's Saturday

I almost forgot
