Everyone is selfish in this world... they only think about their own happiness, even if the cost is someone's misery.

 But Kanae nee-chan was kind, selfless... to the point people took advantage of her.

Nee chan why did you agree to marry that dirtbag? He's just a disgusting, selfish person... he doesn't love you for who you are nee chan.

Was is because of our father's illness? Yes... you knew it'd reassure him even if it meant killing your dream to become a doctor.

Why, nee chan- why did it all happened with us? Why did we had to see our parents get killed?

Why did I have to see you turn into a monster?

Nee chan, you said we would go to see the flower valley in the mountains right? Where hundreds of butterflies gather... so why did all of this happened. Why did you die before keeping our promise?

But she didn't just die. She was Killed. By this cruel world, by your rotten luck.

Shinobu opened her eyes- a man was standing next to her. He had long black hair and pale complex; his red eyes were glowing in the dark of wherever she was. She was having trouble with her vision as she was still weak in the body, but she could tell- his face was calm. An almost unnatural calm.

He spoke- " Look at you, poor miserable child. The doctors won't make it in time. You're gonna die in this room alone. So tragic. " His voice was soft like feather.

 And there was a smell... a smell similar to burnt lavender. It was intoxicating, Shinobu's eyes filled with tears. Aaa... why was this so calming?

" Let's see the wound... oh dear. I heard your sister did this to you?"

The image flashed before her eyes. Her sister..

" No-no- she never meant it! I could've cured her! My medicine research-" a gripping pain in her chest stopped her and she had to gasp for air.

" If it wasn't for him!" the girl's eyes glowed. " The man with rainbow eyes! He could've spared my sister... but he didn't. "

" Hmm interesting ..." the man took a note of the flame in her eyes. " Listen child... you don't have much time, what do you say I help you out ?" He reached out his hand in front of her.

" I'm Kagaya Ubuyashiki. And I want to help you get well. " 

Shinobu's vision was started to fade and the smell of lavender increased.

Was his hand... bleeding?

" I will end your misery. What do you think about ending selfish  people from this world? Do you want to kill them? Do you want to find the man who slayed your sister? Do you want to slaughter all those who wrongs people like you? "

No words were reaching her head anymore. She simply gave her own hand in his...

Yes... help me... get well... punish them... and....

" Good, you will make it out. And from now on, I'm your master- come with me to the world of night, where our family awaits."

A part of her said she was forgetting something... something important...

But as demon blood entered her body every concern went away in an instant.

Like they never existed.

Kanao witnessed it all.

The way Kanae suddenly went murderous after being attacked.

It all happened so quickly, the little girl couldn't comprehend what was going on. Kanae pounced at Shinobu, biting on her shoulder as she let out a blood curdling scream.

But that wasn't Kanae... that couldn't be her. The ever calm, loving sister, who was trying to shield them a moment ago... how did she turned into a blood thirsty monster in seconds?

When Shinobu, despite being wounded dragged herself out, she tried to follow her. But the previous stopped the later. " Kanao, please stay inside! I'll bring Nee-chan back. Every things gonna be fine."

When Shinobu said that and went outside, she felt a familiar feeling rising up in her. A feeling she thought her body couldn't be affected with anymore .

Cold ,Cold, Cold. Her siblings bodies, turned cold. The fea ridden mattress- cold. The night spent behind her parents shed- cold.

She was finally beginning to feel some warmth in this new family, then this dreadful feeling came back to her. Was she scared? But there was no doubt-she was shocked, but she wasn't shaking like Shinobu, who had held her even after being injured.

And she witnessed it, how the man with light colored hair, decapitated their sister. Except she couldn't tell , if she was their sister anymore.

She couldn't do anything.She didn't try to help them out-

But Shinobu tried, even after getting attacked. Why? She was not kanae.

Am I really okay with this? Was that okay? - She clenched on to a coin in her hand, something that Kanae nee chan had given her.

" If you want to decide something, flip this coin." Kanae had told her.

Did she have any right to decide, when the matter was with Kanae's life?

"Hey there...

Kanao looked up, the man with the fans was at the doorstep. Up close she could see his eyes- oddly colorful. She just kept looking at the eyes, his words came in her ears and fogged out in her mind.

What was he doing? He's no threat right? He killed Kanae... but he saved them.Does it matter if he's a threat? What could she possibly do against him? Against anything that is happening?

Her mind was blurry, l before, but now she didn't know if she could even think anything anymore.

Where did they take Shinobu? She's coming back... right?

Actually I didn't want to include Shinobu's part anywhere at the beginning of the book but it just happened. I might edit it out if I feel it's way too out there compared to what I write further.
