"Francois, wait for me.. running to keep after you is difficult nowadays."

"Pourquoi, Gerard? Have I become faster, or maybe you've become lazier in your exercise routine" teased Francois.

"It's just that you were always fast and now this HIIT training is doing wonders for you. I still have to figure this HIIT stuff."

"Gerard- you have to make time for it, like it and stick to it. No matter what. And the results will be for all to see, mon amie."


(Both of them sit on an empty bench in the neighbourhood park, looking at the sunrise.)

"Just two hours to go before I leave for work. It gets kinda boring at times. The same office, same boss, same environment. Nothing. Wish I could open my own patisserie store someday." Gerard wondered aloud.

"I'd love to join you Gerard, but opening a patisserie is hard work, would take a lot of time, energy and money. Are you serious about it?" enquired Francois."

Oui, I'm serious. Absolutely serious. And I really want to do this. I'd love you to be with me on this journey, together, Francois."

"You know Gerard, I've been wanting to tell you since some time. A couple of months, to be honest. Umm.. [scratches back of neck nervously], You've become more than a friend to me. You've become my love, my life, my happiness. Je pense que suis tombe amoureux de toi.[I think that I've fallen in love with you]."

"What? Come again? Can you please repeat that, Francois?"

"Gerard, I love you. There said it."

(Gerard holds Francois's face tenderly) 

"Why didn't you tell me before?"

"I was afraid of being rejected, Gerard. Of made fun of. Of being called out for being so open with my feelings, and who I am. It isn't easy for me, but I couldn't lie to myself anymore. I am what I am, Gerard."

"I love you too, Francois. I thought I was the only one who felt something about you. The feelings were hard to ignore. I'm sorry for keeping my true feelings from you for so long.."
