Chapter 16
' The Hate List'
Nia
"I can't let my wife get tired. There's a lot more left to do."
His voice came out breathy, the hot minty breeze tickled my face.
I gulped down hard, my palms were already sweating profusely. I didn't even have enough gut to look at him, right now.
But it seems I can't avoid it when he's just inches apart.
Shit!
I signed a contract with him, made deals about various aftermath but the most important topic slipped from my mind. I was concerned about the wedding but what about the night?
I am doomed!
Viraj raised his one hand, his other hand still encircled around my waist. He smirked when I averted my gaze and turned my head to look away.
The hair around my neck rose when his cold fingers touched the back of my neck. My heart beat rose to a dangerous level, my palms started sweating from clenching onto the lehenga. His fingers caressed the back of my neck lightly tapping all the way till he reached the nape, and unclasped the heavy necklace.
I sighed out loud, when the necklace hit the floor.
I didn't even know I was holding my breath. My neck had started to hurt from wearing heavy jewellery all day.
I closed my eyes, somehow relaxed. He further dug his fingers in my hair that was in a tight bun. One by one the hair pins fall on the ground. Finally, he removed my hair from the suffocating bun.
Oh! I am certainly in heaven right now.
My shoulder slumped down, the frown disappeared. The way he played with my hair in kind of a soothing and relaxing way, I couldn't stop my lips from stretching into a grin.
He took a deep breath, before he spoke in his heavenly delicious voice.
"You liked it?"
I jolted upright when I was engulfed with nothing but cold air in next second.
When did he move back?
"Take a shower, change your clothes. I will prepare a room for you." He hurriedly walked out of the room without even turning back.
I stood dumbfounded at his out of sudden weird behaviour
But, at least he's out of my sight.
I took a deep sigh, completely relaxed.
I am alone. I can finally relax.
The walls of his room were quite monochromatic, from his bed to windows it was all a combination of whitish grey and black. A big modern chandelier hanging from the centre, a normal size modern art hanging just above the headboard.
Claasic- modern.
I took the veil off and let it fall on the ground. The night was deepening as well as my fear. But I guess I should just calm myself. I mean, he practically ran out to make a separate room for me.
"Your room's rea-"
I turned around startled, Viraj burst in without a knock.
"At least knock?"
I mentally slapped my face when it came out as a question. Stupid me.
Viraj cleared his throat, and stride towards me.
The way he walked in, his dark eyes glistening a tint of red like a devil, a smirk plastered in his face, his dark aura screamed...danger.
I couldn't move, react or even point a finger at all. I stood charmed, astonished and shocked.
I hate myself for reacting like a lovesick teenage girl who has a crush on a handsome hunk who's never going to reciprocate the feeling.
I hate this bastard for being so sinfully handsome.
"On another note... I am really trying to control myself." He said huskily while standing a bit away from me, not too close but not too far either. He sucked in a large breath and closed his eyes before adding in a deep grunt
"But.. you are really making it
harder."
"Is it my fault?"
"Definitely." He retorted quite fast.
"So get out before I change my mind." He added in a rough-stoic tone, I gulped at his rude tone.
Moody much?
"I...I -. Where's my room?"
What the hell? Why am I stuttering?
"Down to the left, first door."
I nodded and hurriedly walked out after collecting my veil. I sighed in relief when I closed the door to his room.
I hope I won't return to this room ever again.

Viraj
Shit! Fuck!
I need to take a cold shower now.
What's happening with me? She's just a woman. Why am I so excited down there like I've never seen a woman in my entire life? For fuck's sake.
I can't believe it.
God,what was I even thinking before I spoke. But it's not my fault.
She looked hot.
I can't get rid of that picture from my brain. She was looking heavenly delicious in that red wedding dress, dishevelled hair that fell down to her hips and the dim lights that made her skin glow like gold.
I didn't know a woman could look that good in a mess.
Fuck!
I meant to hate her. I should hate her!
She's the one who ruined my life-My plan! My dream!
And What am I doing?
I slumped down the bed and stared at the ceiling. A good sleep was impossible tonight, I knew that for sure.

The next morning I woke up early, got ready in a jet black suit, a nice gelled back hair that completed my all black look and went downstairs. I gave a glance at her door, it was still closed.
Great! At least I won't have to-take another cold shower.
I hate my mind.
I walked straight to the kitchen to fetch some juice. But instead I find a perfectly covered sandwich and a sticky note inside the fridge.
I took it out and set it on the kitchen island.
'I will be out and will be quite late.
Eat it.'
I crumpled the note and threw it away along with the sandwich.
Why play the pretend game and for what?
Is she doing it to impress my father so he can favour her?
Screw it. He won't like her anyway.
I walked out of my house and went straight to my black Porsche and drove off to the office.
When I reached my office, John was eagerly waiting for me at the front lounge.
"Sir, you shouldn't be here!"
"Shut up before I screw your mouth shut. I don't have time for any nonsense." I gritted out, trying hard to remain calm.
"It's serious. The paparazzi were here before you. They are going crazy about you. They can be following you."
"So? I mean isn't it what my father wanted?"
"Yeah. But shouldn't you two be in your honeymoon phase?" John asked, quoting the honeymoon with concern. I nodded at his words.
It's true.
If I appear at my company right after my marriage it will be a bit suspicious.
Oh shit! Nia just went out.
I clenched my jaw and grabbed my hair. Fuck, she'll ruin me.
"Call Nia. Now."
John took out his phone and hurriedly called her and put it on speaker. It rang continuously. I shut my eyes and slammed my hands into the wall. The people who were using the elevator had frightened looks, many of them even skipped using the elevator today.
"Hello?" Finally, she picked it up..
"Where are you?" I took the phone from John and asked her.
"Didn't you get the note? I am out to do some important work with-"
"Where are you? In which fucking place?"
"At my grandma's house."
"Okay, wait for me there. I am on my way, until then do not go anywhere. Remember not to show your face."
I cut the call and hurriedly drive off.
I drove to the maximum speed and in no time I parked in front of her grandma's house. I walked straight to the door and rang the doorbell continuously.
"You can't stay here." I said as soon as she opened the door. I walked in but halted in my place.
What's he doing here?
"Why is he here?"
"Let me explain. Sit down." Nia tried to calm me down. I was infuriated when her friend Adil came into my view.
Weirdly I was calm and not agitated.
"Oh! Darling did you forget you are married? Or did you forget you signed a fucking contract with me."
"Shut up. No more words from your fucking mouth." Nia yelled out loud. I felt silent, a bit taken aback by her outburst. "I will not forget that I am married to a devil like you even if I lost all of my brain cells."
Did she just call me the devil?
"I am here cause I will not let you take what's mine." She hissed at me with venom lashed in each and every words. "I don't want to lose this house to you. I won't let you take it..ever."
I narrowed my eyes at her than at Adil who watched us silently from afar.
"First of all let's go from here. Paparazzi are following us."
"Don't touc-"
"Complete that sentence and I will make your entire generations regret it." I warned Adil with clenched jaws.
I grabbed Nia by her hand and dragged her out.
"Let go of me."
She tried to squirm her way out but couldn't even get out of my hold.
"Will you stay put or should I carry you over my shoulder?
That did it.
She somehow cooperated and I made her sit while I took mine but not before glaring at Adil who helplessly watched us go.
The drive back home was silent. I clenched my fist around the steering wheel.
Now who the fuck filled her mind with that nonsense she was saying a while ago.
Goddammit.
We reached my penthouse in no minute. Nia silently followed me as we both walked inside. I took out my jacket and halted in the middle of the lounge.
"I am being warned about the paparazzi following us so you can't go out without me. Understood?"
"No, I won't." She fiercely said, clenching her jaws."Try and make me."
She's being difficult for no reason at all.
"Trust me. You'll regret it." I took a step towards her, she didn't back down, instead she glared right at my eyes. We both locked in each other's gaze. Her's with fiery blaze, mine with cold darkness.
She came a bit forward, although her height was nowhere near me, her head just touched my chin yet still she was staring eye to eye.
"I said.... make me."
She whispered the last word with venom.
There, I lost it.
