a little bit of luxury with a touch of jealousy

Well.

I'm going to hell.

I sat opposite my nemesis- who apparently wasn't really my enemy after all.

"I'm...so sorry Robin." My father tells the man in front, just before giving me a harsh glare. So his name was Robin? Oddly it suited both his style now and hobo him.

I rolled my eyes.

How was I suppose to know he knew dad, was his new business partner that hated the Goode's and wanted to bury them? I though he was trying to kidnap me and was using my dad to threaten me.

I mean, it could have been true.

He was also Vinci's new boss.

I also didn't know that either.

"It's alright. You weren't the one holding the vase full of water." He says with a smile, rolling up his sleeve as his now wet blazer was hung on the chair next to him to dry out.

My father takes out a envelope, handing it to Robin. I couldn't believe he was the hobo I met yesterday. He was completely different.

"I've signed on every change I agreed on with your mother..." my father began, as Robin took the papers and stared reading through them with a serious expression. I eyed his drenched hair- that was still dropping small droplets of water onto his white unbuttoned shirt as he flipped through the pages taking his time and he eyes darted across the page before finally giving my father a nod.

He was sight a for sore eyes.

I can't believe what a good shave and haircut can do.

Ditching the crocs gave him a whole new vibe, I've always said crocs where bad.

"Your proposal is perfect. I'll see you bright and early next week Monday." He says as my father lit up like a Christmas tree.

"Thank you!"

"No problem. I know you still have work to do at the office. Thank you for making time to see me..." he says to my father.

"No thank you!" My father says with a wide grin before looking at me again and dropping his smile.

"You. Apologise."

"What for?" I asked with raised eyebrows.

"Gabby Anne-Marie...!" He says coldly causing me to flinch. He never said my full name.

"It's alright- she had a terrible encounter with her ex boss today. She was probably just upset from that...why don't you get back to your office? I'll drop Gabby."

"Fuck no."

"Language!" my father lectured facing me.

"Fuck no...thank you." I said dryly as my dad just sighed.

Robin sat there looking at us with a smile and I wasn't comfortable to go with him- until I saw my fathers judgmental expression.

"Fine! But if I go missing and don't text back in 2 hours call the police." I mutter under my breath as I stand to grab my bag.

"Who's going to kidnap you? Your mouth is a perfect deterrent." Robin mutters, earning a stink eye from me.

"I don't want you going home alone after what happened. Let Robin drop you home." My father says with a stern look. I wanted to ask how he knew Robin was sane but I couldn't be bothered.

"There's no need...Robin I can take care of-"

"Gabby, stop arguing with me, do as you told!" My father grits out lowkey scaring me.

"Fine." I grumbled as my father shook Robin's hand, before walking out the door with a final serious look on his face.

I snorted annoyed before standing up to leave.

"Are we leaving or not." I snap moving to leave Vinci's. A driver standing outside front door opened and ready for us to get in.

"Mr Kwan sir, your sister called." He let Robin know I just looked at him through slits of judgement as he went inside his car. How does his sister handle him? I stared for the longest time, realising it's been awhile I've been driven around.

"Are you going to just stand there..?" I heard a cocky voice say from inside. I moved to get in just when I feel myself get pulled in, Robin not even giving me time to enter.

What a douche bag.

I close the door behind me, relaxing into the plush velvet seats. The exterior was nice, and the air conditioning inside helped cool my anger- until I realised we were going the wrong way.

"Where are we going?" I asked confused.

"You wet my clothes, I'm going to buy a new shirt and blazer at the mall..."

"Can't you do that in your own time?"

"No. Because your going to pay for it." He mutters.

I give him a stink eye again, crossing my arms.

"And why would I do that?" I ask.

"Because what you did is assault, which is on tape in the restaurant surveillance camera, you can either buy me a new shirt or be fined with a assault charge and at least £5,000 fine for bodily harm." He says, taking out his phone and typing away like he didn't just threaten me.

"For throwing water on you? What about you is worth that much?"

"Who knows? You were holding a glass vase, you could have hit me with it after." He says still ignoring me.

Unbelievable.

"I...don't like you." I grit out.

"And I told you, you'll regret talking to me like that." He mutters coldly.

I sigh, looking out the window in anger.

"You can huff and puff all you want- take this as a lesson to keep your smart, annoying mouth in check. Your rude and obnoxious." He says before ignoring me and going back to his phone.

I stare at him open mouthed.

The car pulls to a stop, and I think of ways to push this imbecile out in ongoing traffic to look like an accident and not get caught.

"How much does your dumb suit cost anyways?"

"£3,500."

"What did you just say!?"

"£3,500, what's the matter, you can't afford it?"

"Of course I can't!"

"Then you shouldn't have damaged it. Here's a another valuable lesson- what you can't afford to pay the price for, don't risk." He says before getting out of the car, again leaving me in shock.

I scrambled out of the car, following after him.

"Hey! How old are you? Why are you lording it over me like your full of wisdom or some shit." I ask, crossing my arms.

"I'm 34..." He says flatly.

"Really!?...that makes sense." I say while I nodded my head- Not that surprised actually.

"I'm kidding." He says offended.

I laughed at his expression of horror of looking that old. He didn't but his personality was of mature mouldy cheese.

"Seriously! How old are you?" I asked as we walk into the clean pristine mall that had so much fabulous clothes I couldn't focus on our conversation.

"I don't want to tell you." He says bluntly.

I eyed him.

What a child.

I whipped out my phone and googled 'Robin Kwan, Brooksville'.

"Hmm...Robin Kwan, age 24 one of three siblings...the oldest- ouch!" I call out as I bump into his back as he suddenly stops.

"For someone who seems to hate me, you seem to want to know a lot about me." He says.

"Well...you know what they say...know thy enemy." I grumbled. He smirks at me with a knowing smile and continues walking.

My internet search told me his family was rather wealthy. They had recently acquired major companies and stocks and were very lucky and talented to have grown a entire empire in little over 5 years.

They could definitely rival the Goode's. I was getting excited at someone finally overthrowing those backstabbing assholes.

I follow Robin into a store that housed expensive tailored women and men's suits, and I swear I was giddy like a kid in a candy store.

"Wow!" I breathed out.

This was totally my style...there was limited edition Hermes two pieces in here that where to die for.

I missed having money.

"So...you can't afford to pay me back. How are you planning to escape your punishment?" He asks, sitting down on one of the leather couches.

I didn't fit in here. Not anymore.

My uniform was tacky on me while I was surrounded by expensive clothing, it was lowkey mortifying.

This douche probably did it on purpose.

"I don't know. Your the one who brought me here after I said I can't afford it." I complained, rolling my eyes, and noticed a familiar strawberry blond filled head outside the store.

I turned so fast ducking low in front of Robin to hide and prayed she didn't notice me.

God help me...
