"So one of my favorite things about Conniverse is the power dynamic. Steven can have any girl or guy he wants and he chooses her. Cute."

Alex tsked and slid the phone over to the other boys playing Uno. "Check this out."

Steven raised an eyebrow and set down a yellow five as he skimmed the comment highlighted. "Oh that's gotta go. I've got this."

Alex set up a hidden camera in the commons next to the pantry and fed the live feed into the basement theatre for the rest to watch.

"Steven's walking into a Lions Den," Anna murmured giddily. "This is stupid."

Steven waltzed up behind Connie and rumbled into her ear. "My Connie."

She giggled airily and turned. "My Steven."

"You know you belong to me, right?" He told her in that gentlemanly lowered tone that usually made her knees weak.

Connie raised an eyebrow but pulled him into a kiss.

Hazel frowned. "Not possible."

The very second Stevens lips touched hers, she grabbed his hand and got him into a hold. Before he could blink he was spun with his arm bent and jammed up towards his shoulder blades. "What have I told you?! What did I say we would say?!"

Steven tried to answer but she shoved his arm further. "Ow, Ni wait–!"

"What did Diamond agree to? Huh?!" She shouted, leaning down catch his eyes as he turned.

He swallowed and nodded his head as his eyes flickered to pink. "'With' me, not 'to' me."

She released him with a kiss and helped him up. "I used less painful moves, but are you okay?"

He smiled from ear to ear. "Of course. Just... testing my boundaries."

Connie giggled and patted his chest. "Is that where we are relationship wise, Mr. De Mayo? Because I do look forward to it."

Steven blew out a low breath and yelled, "Connie, my god, let's GO!"

Connie immediately came out of the room and scoffed. "What the hell did you just say to me?"

The poor man immediately softened. "I-I said, 'Let's go'?"

She shook her head. "Nuh-uh, say it how you just said it! I wanna see if you have the balls to try again," She spat.

Steven grabbed her hips and smiled. "I'm sorry, that was disrespectful of me."

"Oh, so you don't wanna try?" Their lips met six times before Connie giggled and murmured, "I'm going to take my time when I do things, Steven. I am going to take my sweet ass time when I do things and you are going to like it. Do you understand?"

He swallowed, gazing into her eyes. "Yes, Ma'am. Whatever the queen wants."

Adam rubbed at Steven's shoulders and Jacob psyched him up. "Just one more time. Try not to get killed."

Steven nodded, his heart pounding in his chest. "I'll try not to, but every time she puts me in my place it makes me kinda horny."

Jacob glanced down and blushed, eyes tracing to the side. "Right. Jasmin's like that."

Hazel pulled Steven into a kiss when Adam tapped his shoulders to stand. "If I don't see you again, I wanted you to know I'm in love with you."

Steven acted as if it were a monumental reveal and burst into tears on command, nodding and crying he wanted to go on a date.

Their ladies walked in and Connie smiled. "Did someone finally propose to be a Main?"

Adam's head snapped to the side, eyes wide in disbelief. "We can do that?"

Jasmin and Anna looked at each other and shrugged. "Is that favoritism?"

"Isn't that kind of what Special Interest implies?" Alex rebutted. "Cause I kind of hate that term for us."

Steven was staring at the floor, but shrugged thoughtfully. "100% for everyone. That's the Golden Rule."

It was not as difficult as it had seemed merely a year into the polycule. When they wanted attention from someone, they received it when possible and vice versa. There were so many of them, and when they all loved each other they had no problem crashing together in unorthodox threes or fives or even the entirety of them. Sure they weren't perfect, but they worked together in a rhythm.

Connie walked up to Steven and squeezed his hand. "Our trust is unbreakable. I'm not afraid you're going to run away on a Romeo and Julio affair scandal."

The boys nodded but Adam held up a hand. "We can address that more at dinner. On that note, I'm hungry."

Though the new air of excitement was hard to ignore, they started chatting idly and laughing as they prepared lasagna. It smelled so nice so quickly when Jacob put his special garlic bread recipe in the oven.

Connie looked over at Steven and nudged him with her hip. "Hey, Starboy. So when are you gonna ask?"

He blushed, but uttered, "Oh, shut up."

She started laughing. Sincere laughter too, backing away from the table and pointing at Steven as if he'd told her the funniest joke in the world. They watched as she grew hysterical and leaned against the island.

Steven glanced at Jasmin, who had her brows raised as if she were surprised. She was in on it and winked at him, a bit of a manic delight in her own eyes. "What's so funny, Ni?"

She couldn't stop, but got out, "It's funny to me that men think they can talk to women however they want!" Cackling she poked his chest and tapped his chin. "You watch your fucking mouth with me, Steven Universe."

"Okay, I swear to gods that wasn't real, that was the worst thing ever," Steven admonished quickly. "It was just to prove to our fans that I don't push you around."

Everyone backed him up and she frowned. "That's not funny, Steven. What if I had dumped you?"

He grabbed her hands and kissed them. "Come on now, Ni. Be serious."

Connie sighed in disappointment. "Aw, you got me. I knew you were pranking me when you yelled at me it was time to leave. You know better than to raise your voice like that out of nowhere."

Jasmin snorted and glanced over at Jacob already staring at her. "What?"

"I kinda wanna try it." His green eyes lit up and he grinned. "I think I'll start now."

She grabbed his ear and twisted, yanking him down to her lips. "I think you know you'll end up getting a spanking."

He turned a deep red as Adam raised an intrigued eyebrow. "Nuh uh, not anymore. I left that behind."

Jasmin tried to squish his cheeks but he shook out of her touch. "Right. Of course."

She let him go and he grabbed his ear, wincing a bit with a happy little grin until he caught Adam's eyes undressing him violently. "Now what?"

Adam's eyes sparkled. "Nothing. Nothing at all."
