Living Arrangements

"Can we just all move in together?" Steven had groaned as they finished their meal at Fishstew. "I hate being apart after Nova. It fucking sucks."

They'd joked about it a million times, but this time a heavy silence was born.

Steven sat back up and ran his gaze over all of them. "Wait, really?"

Jacob pursed his lips and shrugged. "I mean, I wouldn't mind it for now. We all agreed that we feel shitty when we aren't together. Maybe we could rent out an entire apartment complex."

"I think about being closer way too much. I hate the Valley State with a passion," Hazel added.

Connie squeezed Stevens hand and tipped her head giddily. He had that look on his face that she rarely got to see her sexy himbo making. "I see wheels turning in your head, Universe. Spill."

A redness creeped up his neck as he pulled out his phone and mumbled, "Don't think I'm a obsessive creep, but sometimes I need to get my thoughts down visually when music doesn't cut it."

He tapped on a photo and turned it sideways before sliding it to the middle of the table. They all stood to stare down at it, their heads pressing together like a group huddle.

Alex was the first one to speak up after another stretch of quiet. "Five houses? In one?"

"You made this?!" Jasmin gasped. "Dude, you've got an eye for construction. If you weren't so into music, I'd tell you to start there..."

The giant of a man rubbed the back of his neck bashfully. "It was just an idea I had. It's like, five separate houses, one for each relationship, and Alex can have his own. All equipped with kitchens, bathrooms, top floors and the luxury of facing away from each other. Every person gets a master bedroom and bath, along with a balcony and living room though I designed it a bit smaller for convenience. I also found a way to lower the electricity it would take, and the manual labor would be next to nothing because we have Bismuth, Lapis and Peridot. And... more Bismuths who wouldn't mind building something this complicated and fantastical for me in particular."

"Well, I just had an internal conversation with my 'cule about it. We're in if you guys are." Hazel put a hand over the phone, and his partners placed theirs on top of his.

"Your polycule? I'm the entire reason it's a polycule. It should be mine," Adam exclaimed.

"Pretty sure Anna owns both of you, so quit complaining." Jasmin nudged Jacob and he nodded. "We're in."

Two more hands joined the middle.

"Steven and I are obviously in. We'd have our privacy plenty, but the commons area is a cute edition for when we wanna hang out together. Plus, a basement for Stevens recording studio and my yoga can be expanded to add a gaming room and a movie theater. I just got paid way too much from our last few videos so–,"

"There's no way we're not pitching in!" Anna snapped at her. "You guys don't get to lavish us all the time."

Connie pouted but nodded. "Fine. Pitch in then, Ms. Independent."

"Now where oh where have I heard that before?" Steven smacked her ass and watched it bounce before grabbing a handful and humming to himself. "You're so sexy. Let's wrap this up."

"You're animals," Hazel teased with an eyebrow wiggle.

"So are you," He retorted. "How many times have you casually brought up the fact we fuck every once in awhile?"

"Apparently not enough, Princess. Apparently not enough."

So they built the house with Greg's insistence that he pay for most of it in the end. "I'm old," He'd exclaimed. "No way I'm going to spend four million dollars in the next 20 years!"
