ii. trial two
TO BE LOVED
:: ii, trial two
It was a bright and early Saturday morning, 5:30am to be exact. Thomas stared at his shirtless body in the mirror. He flexed in the mirror, seeing when he should go back to the gym. As he examines his body, his phone starts ringing in the next room. He had fell asleep on the couch the night before, he was busy watching the office. He quickly jogged to the living room of his apartment and picked up his phone off the couch. He pressed the green button and then held the phone to his ear.
"Did you get it? Did you get it?" His brother sounded too excited on the other line.
"Thanks for the enthusiasm but no, I don't know yet." Thomas spoke as if he just woke up, so calm. "Anyway, how are you?"
"I'm clean, been that way for months— if that's what you're worried about. I'm doing good, trust me." Dean reassured his worried brother.
There was silence for a couple seconds. It wasn't awkward, it was peaceful. They have been drifting apart lately but that's only because they haven't seen either in a while. As the silence grew, there was knock at Thomas' door. He told his brother he would call him later then tossed his phone back on the couch. He walked over to the door and opened it, there stood David Rossi.
"Why aren't you dress yet? It's 5:30." David unknowingly reminded him.
"Yes. I know. Is that why you're here?" Thomas question, leaving rossi at the door.
Rossi walked in closing the door behind him, "I'm just making sure you get to work on time. Can't afford you to be late on your second day."
Thomas gave him a quick glance with a chuckle before heading back to his bedroom to continue to get ready for work.

David and Thomas both walked into the BAU. Just opening those glass door was just so amazing. He couldn't believe he was actually here. He was starstruck, but that all went away as soon as he recognized the guy waiting in Hotch's office.
"What the hell." He mumbled, walking past the team up to hotch's office.
He was too curious to knock on hotch's door, so he just opened it. As soon as he and him made eye contact, he had no words. What was his brother doing there?
"Thomas." His brother went up to him and embraced him in a hug. Thomas hugged back but he was still stunned to see his brother who is suppose to be hours away.
"What are you doing here? I thought you were out of town." Thomas spoke as he pulled away from the embrace.
Everyone else was watching them, wondering who the other guy could be and why the conversation looked so intense. As they kept their eyes glued to hotch's office, Garcia came from the hall making her way to the conference room.
"Is it bad?" Derek questioned once he saw Garcia walk past him making a face.
As the perky blonde continue to walk past him, "Really bad."

Everyone had just started talking about the case and when Garcia was getting to the gory parts, Thomas made his entrance. He sat in between spencer and Emily. Garcia continued to speak about the new case. Once again, it was just as bad as the last.
"Everything'a messy. Not organized. This unsub is killing at random, anywhere." Derek spoke up.
Thomas nodded listening, "Maybe a vigilante? Someone who wants to take justice into their own hands."
"If that were the case, then these victims would have criminal records." Jennifer made eye contact with him.
Garcia turned the tv off then turned back around to the group, "I could check if they do. Won't take long."
Hotch stood up from his seat, "Good. Wheels up in twenty." He then exited the conference room, along with everyone else.
Thomas had left his brother sitting near the entrance so that's where he went when everyone left. He needed to finish talking to him. First he went to the coffee machine and made some for him and his brother, then made his way to Dean. He gave Dean the coffee and sat next to him.
It was quiet at first but then thomas broke it. He had a job to do and he couldn't be late to that flight.
"Here are my keys." He pulled his car keys out his pocket, "Take my car and go to my place. When I get back, we can finish our talk."
"Aren't you happy to see me?" Dean gently took the keys out his brother's hand.
Thomas sighed, "It's just unexpected." While he continued to talk to his brother, he saw the teams was headed towards the elevator. He stood up and gave his brother a slight smile before heading to the elevator himself. The doors closed and they were going down.
Once the elevator dinged, they all got off and headed to their private plane. Thomas heard stories but once he saw it, they weren't just stories anymore. His eyes lit up. His dream was now a reality and he couldn't believe it. All he had to do was pass this second trial and he was gonna make sure that was going to happen.

Once everyone landed in Milwaukee, everyone headed to their designated assignments. Rossi, Reid, and Morgan went to the latest crime scene, jj went to talk to the press, Emily and Thomas got started the geological profile while Gideon and Hotch went to talk to the families.
"So was that your brother?" Emily awkwardly attempted small talk.
"How'd you catch that?" Thomas kept his eyes glued to the map that was on the board in front of them.
"Hard to miss. You two really look alike." She told him.
He let out a slight chuckle before coming to realization about something. "Where was the unsub's latest kill?"
Emily went to the table and rummaged through some papers until she found the one she was looking for, "Off Mill road, close to a small store."
Thomas quickly picked up a push in and stuck it on the board in that location. He asked for the next two before the latest victim. Once he got it on the board, the puzzle was coming together. He stared at it for a second before finally speaking, "It's a pattern and we're right in the middle of it."
Emily's eyes were glued to the board as well, "I'll get hotch."
And that's when Thomas knew this case was going to be a wild ride.
to be continued . . . .
