(Third POV)

"Milady, Zoë," Phoebe said as she barged in. "I have to. . . What exactly is going on?"

She had her eyes locked onto the scene playing before her. The cold, man-hating leuitendant of the huntresses of Artemis was hugging a male? And crying?

Zoë looked up and the boy let go of her.

Zoë saw Phoebe. "Phoebe!" She said. "What did I tell thee about coming into my tent uninvited?"

"Not to," Phoebe said. "But it's too late to change that now. But I come in here to see you hugging and crying into a male!  You are a huntress of Artemis!"

Zoë looked at Phoebe. "This male is the greatest one ever." She tried to reason with Phoebe. "You—"

Phoebe would hear none of it. "But you are the leuitendant of the huntresses of Artemis! You can't just fall in love with someone you just met! You—"

"Phoebe!" Zoë yelled. She continued in a whisper, as Phoebe went silent to listen. "I didn't just meet him."

"What?" Phoebe asked. "You mean you have been meeting a boy behind our back for a few years? I can't believe this!" Phoebe had betrayal shining in her eyes as she yelled.

"Phoebe, thou need to listen—" started Zoë.

"No, you need to listen!" Phoebe said. "YOU ARE A HUNTRESS OF ARTEMIS! You are NOT ALLOWED TO FALL IN LOVE! You can not just RUN OFF with a boy who happens to COME TO THE CAMP!"

Artemis decided to step in. "Phoebe, just listen to Zoë's story."

Phoebe took a few deep breaths.

"I didn't meet him after I joined the hunt."

"What?" Phoebe asked.

Zoë glanced at Percy. Percy knew that it would be hard for her to tell her sisters. He knew that she would feel like she's betraying them. He placed a hand on her shoulder and it glowed slightly. None of the others noticed, but Zoë suddenly felt a little more confident. She sent a grateful look with her eyes to Percy.

"I knew him before I joined," Zoë said.

"Like. . . like Hercules?" Phoebe asked.

"No, that's not me," Percy snarled, making everyone jump. "He tried to kill Zoë and got me sent on a little trip to Tartarus."

"But wouldn't that make you thousands of years old?" Phoebe asked.

"Millions, actually," Percy said.

"So, you're immortal?"

"Yes. Perseus Jackson, god of a whole bunch of stuff I don't feel like mentioning. How about thou? You are Phoebe, correct?"

"Yeah," Phoebe said.

"So," Percy said, "let's tell the story. Take a seat."

Percy sat down on a couch that had appeared behind him. Zoë immediately sat down next to him. Phoebe and Artemis sat in chairs that had appeared behind them.

"So, once upon a time, there was Kronos and Rhea. But Rhea did not only give birth to Hestia on that day, but Hestia's twin brother as well. Hestia was eaten by Kronos, but her twin escaped. He swore revenge and a few years later, helped Zeus overthrow his father Kronos.

"The gods defeated Kronos. The twin brother of Hestia was a main part in the war."

"But what happened to him?" Phoebe asked. "Why isn't he in the stories?"

"I'm getting there," Percy replied. "He didn't want all the attention for all that he'd done, so he went to the Hesperides. He settled down to a new life with them. But nothing lasts forever. Heracules came and messed it all up. Sent the god to Tartarus and tried to kill Zoë, who had betrayed her sister's and the god for him."

"Why wouldn't he want to be recognized for what he'd done?" Asked Phoebe.

"Who'd want that? Not everyone has as big an ego as old Drama Queen."

Thunder rumbled loudly through the clear skies.

"Oh, shut that little trap of thine, little brother!" Percy shouted to the sky. There was a little rumble of thunder before it fell silent.

Phoebe was staring at him with wide eyes. "Are you the twin brother of Hestia?"

"Yes," Percy said. He stood up and a glass of water appeared in his hand. He drank it and it disappeared. "Anyway, I would like a word with Zoë for a moment, please."

"Okay," Artemis said. She brought Phoebe outside.

"Zoë—" he started, but he was cut off by her kissing him.

He kissed back. After a while, they broke apart.

"Thousands of years!" Zoë shouted. Percy made the tent sound proof.

"Why the Hades did it take thee so long to reform?"

"Now Zoë," Percy said, "what did I say about using my favorite brother's name as a curse word?"

Zoë smiled sheepishly. "Not to. Sorry. But why weren't thou able to come back sooner?"

"Well, it took me three, four hundred years to reform. Then, Tartarus, the Primordial must have somehow blocked my powers and not let me get out. I had to climb out. And then I heard some stuff. . ." He trailed off.

"What?" Zoë asked, though she wasn't sure she wanted to know. "What did thou hear?"

"Zoë," he said, "I think thou should stay with the hunters a while longer."

"What?" Zoë screeched. "Does that mean thou don't love me anymore?"

"I still do," Percy reassured. "But while I was in the pit, I still had one of my powers."

"What was it?"

"I had a vision. A prophecy."

Zoë dreaded the answer, but she asked the question anyway. "How did it go?"

Percy looked at her, and he seemed to be debating something. Then he just shook his head. "You are needed in the next war. But in order for us to win, thou need to stay with the hunt."

"You're not going to tell me?" Zoë asked. "Do thou not trust me?"

Percy looked her in the eyes and put his hands on hers. "I trust thou completely. Some things are just better not known."

He looked away after a second.

"Zoë." He wasn't looking at her, he was looking at the wall of the tent.

"Yes, Percy?"

"Just know that I will always love thou, okay? I always have, and I always will. I'll never betray thee, and I will never find love in anyone else."

"I love thou too, Percy," Zoë told him. "I trust thee. I believe thee."

"Good." Percy said. "And I won't go around like my brothers and have a bunch of demigod kids. I only have eyes for one person, and that person is thou."

"I will only love thou, too," Zoë whispered.

Percy turned around. He looked right into Zoë's eyes. She realized he'd been crying.

"You do realize how serious what I'm saying is, right? You can die now, and I'm saying I'll only ever love thou, even if you do."

And Zoë did realize that.

She leaned up again and kissed him again, and he kissed back.

(~Time skip to nighttime~)

Percy walked out of the camp. He turned back one last time. He knelt down on the ground and cupped his hands. He breathed into them and cupped them over the ground. When he lifted them, a nightshade was sprouting from the ground.

A tear slipped from Percy's eye and landed on the flower. The flower started glowing slightly.

A whisper spread through the darkness.

"For thee, my Nightshade."
