Prologue

On June 14th 2018 Amanthy theoris was announced dead to the entire supernatural realm. Within two days every supernatural that walked the earth knew of their queens death, and everyone mourned for her, but no one mourned like Serenity smith did.

Serenity disappeared for 3 months without a word to anyone. No one could track her, not even Amara. This left everyone anxious because they couldn't survive without a monarchy. They were nothing like the humans where they could band a few important people together and call it fair when they made important decisions. They valued Royal blood, or anything that linked someone to it. In Serenity's case, her bond to Amanthy was much deeper than she herself had realized because it was enough to deem her as royalty, but it was also enough to make her feel like she was the one that died.

Serenity didn't want the crown, she didn't want anything to do with this world anymore if Amanthy wasn't in it. She didn't care that people were relying on her, she didn't care that Zavarius passed his rights down to her, she didn't care about anything anymore, it was all pointless if Amanthy wasn't there to share it with her.
——
On September 22nd 2018, Serenity smith returned to the palace like nothing happened. She came back with a look in her eye that no one dared to question. She was no longer the person everyone had grown fond of from afar. The woman who made their late queen happy was no longer there.

Although Serenity came back as a different person, it made her stronger. As time passed, people realized that Serenity ruled firmly, she didn't let her emotions come in the way of what was supposed to be done. Some would say she reminded them of Amanthy when she first came to rule.
——

After the first five years of Serenity's rule is when Amara first said something to her that changed everything.

"Why don't you have a discussion with mg about bringing Amanthy back?" Amara suggested one day after their daily tasks had been fulfilled. Serenity snapped her head so fast that she could've sworn she ruptured something. At first Serenity just stared at her with a look that Amara couldn't decipher. This had been the first time Serenity heard Amanthy's name since the year she died.

"Oh you think so?" Serenity asked sarcastically finally breaking the silence. "Yeah sure I'll go have a talk with good ole mg and have Amanthy zapped back onto the face of the planet after being dead for five years" Serenity wore the most sarcastic smile Amara had ever seen as she spoke. Amara held her hands up in surrender as she made way for the door, but Serenity wasn't done talking. "As if I haven't spent the last few years begging everyday before I go to sleep to have her back, even for a moment" and this was the first time Amara had seen Serenity truly break down since everything happened.

——

Its the tenth anniversary of amanthys death and to everyone else she seemed okay. She wore her usual stoic expression as she walked to the council meeting that was supposed to be taking place. After the fall of amanthy theoris, serenity gathered people to be the heads of a council she created. The way she saw it was that it would be less weight on her shoulders.

People gave her nods of acknowledgement or polite smiles as they passed. Serenity wasn't completely gone, she did her best to return the gestures of those delivered to her no matter how small. Her only problem was that she had a hard time opening up ever since the incident, she couldn't bring herself to view the world as she use to.

She pushed the double doors open gaining the attention of all 6 council members, her presence made her the 7th.

No one said a word as she took the only seat at the head of the table reserved for her. When she settled, silence did with her.

Zavarius was first to speak.

"Serenity, you summoned us?" He confirmed with a raised eyebrow. Serenity met his gaze and nodded.

"Yes, I did" she began lifting her hands to rest on the table. She began to make eye contact with every person at the table. Everyone sat on the edge of their seats, this is the first time serenity held any type of emotion in her gaze in their presence.

"I've found a solution to our growing population situation, as of right now we are procreating so rapidly that our existence has reached an all time high" she continued, recalling the subject of their last gathering.

"And what could that possibly be your highness? Mass execution? Child limitation? I mean the list could go on considering your past indiscretions" demarkus stated with a sneer accompanying his tone. Serenity simply smirked at his very wrong assumption.

"Watch your tongue demarkus or you might lose it" zavarius bit back when he sensed serenity didn't plan on putting him in his place.

Zylan snorted at their antics and looked at serenity. "So what will it be my queen? What is your solution?" He asked with a wide smirk adorning his features emphasizing the end of his inquiry.

"Well, at this point their seems to be only one thing to do, but before I conclude what that may be I need to make one thing clear to everyone on this council" serenity leaned forward in her seat making sure everyone in the room could hear every syllable clearly. She locked her fierce gaze on everyone before speaking.

"I am the queen. No one here has any control in my final decisions, you may not argue me down, and you are not to attempt to speak reason into me unless I give permission to do so, you are simply here to give inputs on ideas and inform on situations or problems, you are all given a vote on any law or decisions made, but the final decision is always mine, and mines alone, is that understood?"

Everyone in the room grew confused as to why they had to be reminded of their place so harshly, this only grew further suspicion that they wouldn't like what she had to say.

"Yes, your highness" they all said in unison. Serenity nodded in satisfaction as a hint of a smile graced her full lips. Surprise struck the room silently but no one chose to comment.

"Now on to the matter at hand, this is how we'll Solve the population increase, it's quite simple. I will not resort to killing children or limiting the birth of those supernatural, no matter what category they fall into. I'm displeased to hear that some of us see me as that tyrannical" her gaze instantly fell on demarkus and he looked down in shame.

"I will not shorten the life spans of the ancient ones to clear space, although it was considered shortly. The only way for us to properly ensure our existence is to make it known" serenity finished finally getting to the point.

Zavarius' mouth dropped in utter shock as the rest of the room filled with complete and total silence one again. Everyone looked at each other as serenity leaned back in her seat in satisfaction knowing full well what she just proposed. The plan she had in mind would change absolutely everything.

"Serenity are you proposing we coexist with humans?" Zylan asked with his eyebrows raised.

"That's exactly what I'm implying"
