❦ Six
You yawned tiredly, making your way to the main building of the school. fixing up your tie and collar, your backpack giving you a tight back hug, and your shoes clicking on the pavement in the small murmur of students trailing into the school.
Already up and awake, you were hoping to come to school alittle earlier, in hopes to avoid the many eyes watching your form entering the class. But someone just had to ruin one of your pillows this morning, causing literally pillow stuffing to be spread around your little room. You were basically looking at the 'innocent' Eevee, who looked pretty proud for unknown reasons. Either way, you had to clean it all up first, before you headed towards your new classroom.
You took out a small ball from your pocket, specifically one of the pokeballs, giving it a quaint glance and rub, feeling rather lonely in the morning.
Being away from your pokemon wasn't odd, you did it everyday when you went to school and you did see them this morning. But sometimes having them close to you felt more calming. It makes you feel less nervous, like they could feel your hesitance and was there to comfort you.
Putting it away again, you entered through the main door, looking around the gigantic school, clean and pristine, with the many ever so gigantic doors you came across before. The floors were large like the streets, as you hurried to your assigned class, a class full of aspiring hero with your gut harshly telling you to run off already.
'Shinso should be at his class already', you remembered the boy nonchalantly telling you his acceptance to the general department, as you rushed passed every door hoping to come across your class.
'This place is enormous.' You grumbled to yourself, holding up a schedule Eraserhead gave you yesterday breakfast. 'Class 1-A...' You gave a look around, seeing a bunch of students also looking for their classes, not to mention admiring the school.
"Oh are you in 1-A?"
You blinked at the cute girl that came out of nowhere, popping up behind you with her eyes trained on the schedule in your hand.
"Yes, are you?" You questioned the short brunette politely, who's chocolate eyes lit up making her shine.
"Yup! I'm a little confuse on where it is though.." She said a bit embarrassed, with the sweet smile of hers still plastered on her face.
You couldn't help but feel a little cheerful at the mochi in front of you. "Let's go look for it together then." You gestured for you both to walk, which she picked up, trailing after you.
"Okay! My names Uraraka Ochaco." She greeted you friendlily, with you greeting her back with your name.
"Aren't you excited today (last)-chan?" She asked, looking pumped up, excitably eyeing you, fist-pumping vigorously.
"Kinda? More nervous really." You answered with a small shy shrug, making sure to keep an eye on the classes to find the right one. "Since today's the first day it's probably gonna be just the entrance ceremony."
"Yeah, do you think UA entrance ceremony is different than the other schools?" It wasn't hard to see that Uraraka was very much exhilarated, it must have been important for her and not to mention an incredibly special day.
You kept an eye on the jitteriness beside you, somehow feeling to same, but in a different light. Just when you look, you saw the door right in time. "We're here."
Uraraka followed your finger, staring at the class. She grinned, walking to the class with you following behind her. The huge door, probably 10 meters, was wide open, and someone was hogging the entrance. A frankly familiar curly-haired broccoli boy fidgeting by the door, seemingly barricaded in a one-sided conversation. 'Oh, the boy from the entrance exam with the fever..'
"Ah- that curly hair!"
Uraraka seems to recognize the boy, looking closely to see the stranger. The boy jolted at the call, as he turned around slowly, comicslly, to look behind him.
"You're the plain-looking boy!" Uraraka pointed out. You can't help but sweatdropped at her words. The boy flushed red, sweating heavily, as his eyes looked over Uraraka.
You couldn't help but chuckle at the awkward boy, who's eyes moved to your tittering form. He blushed brighter if that was possible, instantly recognizing you from the entrance exam before. Feeling embarrassed he avoided eyes with you.
You gave the boy a rather slight nod in greeting, who did the same trembling in red. Uraraka, obviously the little social butterfly, began chatting up the boy with you listening now and then. You peered into the class, seeing many students, your now classmate, also beginning to warm up between themselves. There was another taller boy standing next to Midoriya, fixing his glasses repetitively.
"I wonder what we're going to do for the entrance ceremony?" The girl asked the still blushing boy, peering back to you as you shrugged at the question, not quite sure.
"Go somewhere else if you wanna play friends."
You yelped when something nudged your leg, your eyes looking down at a familiar yellow sleeping bag. The trio by the door abruptly hushed, also peering down at the sleeping teacher by your leg.
Eraserhead's face was looking dully on the trio, probably the deadest stare he had given. He rummaged around, pulling out a juice pouch, drinking dryly. "This is the hero course."
Your classmates face were priceless, looking both stunned and disturbed at the same time. The small chatter in the class dulled, and everyone could only stare at the scruffy man zipping out of the bag, eyeing the astonished students wearily.
"It took eight seconds for you all to quiet down. Time is a precious resource, you lot aren't very rational are you?" He loomed over. "I'm your homeroom teacher, Aizawa Shota. Pleased to meet you."
Everyone listened in still silence, a pang of doubt crossing their faces staring at the homeroom teacher, who began rummaging in his sleeping bag, pulling out a uniform with blue and white color scheme. "Quickly now, change into your gym clothes and head to the grounds."
Rushing off, everyone hurriedly went to the changing room, not saying a word in front of their lifeless teacher. You patiently waited until everyone left, before Aizawa gave yours.
"You should change too." He gruggily told you, "you'll help me out with the test today as well." He explained, shooing you away. You blinked, holding up the outfit, before you went on your way towards the changing room doubtly.
'Test..?'
The girl's changing room was still packed with the few girls loitering around. Yaoyorozu was the one that noticed your arrival, looking excited to see you before she scooted to you.
"(Last)-San, it's nice to see you again." The girl was dressed in the gym attire already, her long irregular ponytail strangely suiting her. She had no idea you would end up being in this class, perhaps you were Aizawa-sensei's assistant? Any how she was delighted she knew atleast someone in her first day.
"You too," you smiled, beginning to change. "Congrats on being 1st in recommendation."
It was surprising Inasa didn't accept his recommendation, turning to go to another school. After your exchange you both hadn't talk, maybe you should ask.
"Thank you." She gave a sweet smile, patiently waiting to walk with you. She looked prideful about it, beaming even, and you were glad to see her seemingly chipper. You both ended up walking to the grounds, as she looked curious to you.
"You didn't join the test before, are you gonna joining the class?"
"Um..I think I will." You told her, unsuredly answering the taller girl, who nodded understandingly.
"Ah, alright. I'm excited to see how you would do." She said with a polite smile, which you gave awkwardly back.
"Don't expect much..." You mumbled half-heartedly, Yaoyorozu not noticing as she seem caught up at the passing students rushing.
You both entered the field, your classmates lined up in front of the black-clad teacher. You lined up with the rest, when Aizawa-sensei announced about the upcoming quirk test. A string of loud yells entered your ears, and you knew you were surrounded by eager and frisky students. Looks like it was gonna be a long year.
Uraraka complained in confusion, clenching her hands to fist with a sullen look. "What about the entrance ceremony or guidance counseling?"
"No time to waste on that stuff if you want to become heroes."
The blunt answer from the homeroom teacher halted the girl, causing a dull silence surround the class once more. The pro-hero lazily whipped his head to stare leisurely at his students. "U.a. Is known for its 'freestyle' educational system, and that applies to us teachers as well."
You could feel an ongoing headache growing, the vein in your temple prodding loudly as you finally connected all the dots. You plucked out a hair tie, attempting to carefully tidy up your long white hair into a ponytail. The notebook and pencil your brought were already in your hands. The first recommended student gave you a questionably, which you ignored for a second.
The unenthusiastic teacher continued naming standard gym tests to the perplexed class, before giving you a small nod, making you move forward, with the few of your now classmates eyes following you. "This country still insist prohibiting quirks when calculating the average of those records."
Passing you the same device during the recommendation test, you gave it a tired look-over. "It's irrational. The department of education is procrastinating."
"Bakugo." Aizawa wasted no time in calling over the blonde spiky-haired boy, "how far could you throw in middle school?"
You looked around dryly, not exactly meeting the curious glances from the others, instead opting to eye the lax boy, a form of a frown on his equally fierce face. The number one guy passing the entrance exam. Principal nezu also asked you to look through video tapes on the entrance exam, seeing as you didn't watch it live. This was the guy with the explosion quirk that got by on the top only by defeating villains, and that made him quite the interesting person. He stared at the teacher, his piercing red eyes met your (eye color) eyes briefly, before he answered nonchalantly.
"67 meters."
You perked slightly, finding yourself impressed by his answer. The black-cladded pro-hero gave a grunt at the answer, throwing a softball his way. "Great, Now try it with your quirk. Do whatever you need to, as long as you don't leave the circle."
"Give it all you've got."
Bakugo stretched his arms, a prideful smirk peeking. "Awesome."
Pulling his arm back, he threw the ball with an extra boost of explosion following as the ball propelled through the sky like a jet. Bakugo shouting a loud, "Die!" As it flew out of sight. The force causing your ponytail to swing back harshly, as you peered down to look at the results.
705.2 m
Bakugo Katsuki
Quirk: Explosion
He secretes a nitroglycerin-like sweat and makes it explode!
You weren't gonna lie, but that was truly impressive. Your eyes went back to the gloating boy, who looked pretty satisfied at his throw. The ability to sweat nitroglycerin would require him to be pretty heated up, which isn't too hard to do you mused.
"It's important for us to know our limits." Aizawa gestured you to show off the results, "that's the first rational step to figuring out what kind of heroes you'll be."
The class was growing excited, speaking in anticipation. With each words they sprouted, you could almost feel the teacher irritation hitting you right in the face. You stiffly side eyed the teacher, his impassive eyes telling it all.
"...awesome, you say?"
Here it comes.
The class had drastically turned still once more, just like an on and off switch, as Aizawa loomed closer to give the students a serious expression. "You're hoping to become heroes after three years here...and you think it'll be all fun and games?"
Aizawa gave them a mocking jeer. "Alright. The one with the lowest scores across all eight events will be judged hopeless."
"And will be expelled."
An array of shock shouts and screams were heard at the sadist of a teacher. It was only the first day and he's already planning on kicking someone out? Well, he did give that sort of impression. But even you felt this was a little to much for a first day, and not to mention really dramatic at the same time. You gave the teacher another side-eye, more firmly, but he paid no mind, opted to stare at the anxious students.
Uraraka once again intervened, looking more devastated as the day progresses. "It's only the first day! Even if it weren't it's totally unfair."
"Natural disasters, highway pile ups, rampaging villains." The unbothered teacher listed the common events, "calamity is always right around the corner, I'd say Japan is full unfair things."
The teacher pointed out clearly, not beating around the bush. With a sigh, and a ruffle, "heroes are the ones who correct all unfairness. If you're hoping to spend your evening at Mickey D, I'm sorry to tell you that the next three years, U.A will run you through the ringer."
What was probably fear at first, slowly turned to courage, as your classmates frightened faces were replaced with seriousness and courage. Aizawa gave everyone a taunting stare, bring up a finger pointedly. "That's plus ultra. Use your strength to overcome it all, so bring it!"
With everyone listening to the teacher's lecture, they could feel their courage expanding, a will to do their best. You couldn't help but shake your head at the dramatic of it all, sighing as they began to get ready for the first tests, Principal Nezu words appearing in your mind like a mantra.
"principal Nezu! I still don't get it!" You called over the mouse, your two Pokemon trailing after your quick footsteps. Nezu walked cross the halls patiently, making his way to the control room, where he was gonna watch the many teens hoping to enter his school.
"Which is perfectly normal miss.(last)." He answered chipperly, not bothering to look back. "Everyone gets confuse."
"That's not exactly what I meant principal Nezu." You said with a small sigh, pacing to walk next to him. "I don't understand this proposal. You want me to keep track of their quirks?"
"Why, yes." He admitted, he looked up to you with a polite grin. "That should be an easy task for you shouldn't it?"
"Perhaps it is." You gave him a rather perplexed gesture. "But I don't see the point of it all. Couldn't the teachers do this?"
"But of course, but I'm sure they would be delighted to have something off their load."The principal was being awfully chipper, to the point you were at a loss of words to continue arguing about this. The principal noticed your reaction, finding himself chuckling. "Now, now. There's a reason to this.."
You listened attentively for his answer, waiting for the mouse to explain his reasoning.
Only it ended up being a quiet walk to the control room.
You sighed, dejected at the lack of answers, politely excusing yourself to not bother the mouse anymore. Just as you were about walk away with your two Pokemon, he finally said something.
"I think you have a potential for more."
You stopped in your tracks, peering to look at the halted mouse. He turned around, the still ever so polite smile etched onto his adorable face. "I respect your wishes and your choices, miss.(last). In fact, If you so wish, you can decline right now."
You listened tentatively, wholeheartedly focusing on his explaination. The mouse chuckled lightly, before he went back to his explaination.
"But I feel like you don't even know your own strength." He gave a small gesture, folding his hands together in front of him, his neat suit very much complimenting him. "That very quirk of yours could change so much in this quirkful world, and I hope you'll embrace it."
At a lost of words, you watched baffled as the mouse went back on his way. "I hope you don't mind this, but please try to join in the class as much as possible."
Scratching the side of your head, you pouted upset. "I still don't get it.."
~•~•~
Event 1: 50-meter dash
Like a rocket, the boy with engines in his calves rushed through, reaching the line in a mere 3.04 second, his neat bluish hair pulled back at the sudden rush. His opponent not to far behind, appearing to be quite the quick-footed, hopped in with 5.58 seconds.
Now that you looked closely, isn't that..?
Asui from the market. You did see her in one of the files before, but It was still surprising to see her here. You also caught Kirishima in the files, making it second in the entrance exam. Strangely you didn't see him yet.
"Well it isn't much different as a fish in water." The pro-hero commented next to you with a shrug, disrupting your thoughts. "We'll see how he does in the other events."
Iida Tenya
Quirk: Engine
Pretty straightforward! He's quick!
'With how his calves resembles engine, it matters for him to switch gear..he's like a car.' You nodded absentmindedly, as the other students got ready for their turn. You wrote down the notes you needed, giving a simple glance at the quick boy before focusing on your note. The pro-hero's eyes glance at your focus form, before giving an eye-roll.
"Your suppose to join them."
You blinked, snapped out of your daze look at his statement. "Huh?"
"This isn't a hero class. So you'll be joining in."
"..."
The dead stare from the teacher almost made you fall off onto the ground in confusion. Feeling quite baffled at his reasoning, you stuttered a reply.
"B-but I'm suppose to keep..note?" You tilted your head sideways, a small frown across your face. The teacher gave a silent look, and you retaliated for a moment. You gave him just an equally questionable stare.
However at the end, you ended up walking away from the teacher to join your peers begrudgingly.
'Oh gosh why.'
You ended up looking over curiously at the next racers. Ochaco was up ahead, touching her shoes and clothes. You supposed it was her quirk as she ran off as fast as she could cross the finishing line, with the tailed man beating her by a few seconds.
Uraraka Ochaco
Quirk: Zero Gravity
Anything she touches will be affected by gravity! However using her power too much makes her queasy!
'Hmm..her quirk infused an ability to make supposedly everything 'zero gravity', however is there a limit to how long she can allow them in Gravity?' You scribbled once again in the notebook, not feeling a pinch of nervousness well up. In all honestly, you aren't going to be surprised if your put in the last place. What was your quirk gonna do to help you in this..other than calling something fast which you aren't gonna do anytime soon.
Your just here to help and go to school like a normal teenager, not be a hero.
A large hand was placed right on your shoulders, making you yelp in surprise, looking back to come face to face with a glowing face. His bright red and oddly spiked up hair causing him to shine even more.
The boy smiled so wide, his cheekbones were pulled up, it was almost adorable, and so very endearing that it was too sweet to look away from, but you swore it actually hurts like the sun. He looks kinda familiar strangely enough..
"(Last)! I can't believe you're in the hero course as well!" It was beaming brighter, you blinked dazed, squinting your eyes at the cutely smiling boy.
"Um..do I know you?" Asking awkwardly, you notice him tilting his head in similar confusion, before he remembered his appearance, patting his hair lightly.
"Oh yeah, I colored my hair! It's me, Kirishima remember?"
You gaped at the boy, now that he mentioned it, he exactly looked like the boy you remembered about 6-7 months ago. The manly boy, as he would say, that seemed to be more cheerful now than he was before. Though you never chatted long, nor went into contact after you met, you find yourself feeling ecstatic at his appearance.
He actually did it! He went into a hero course!
"Wow! I never thought I'd see you again, especially with that hair." You boasted in excitement, feeling giddy as he joined in with equal amount of thrill.
"It's a pretty manly color right?" He boasted back confidently, pulling up his fist looking proudly at you, with you nodding enthusiastic.
The boy mellowed down a bit, feeling a bit too giddy to comprehend what was going on. Just earlier, you were walking over to their homeroom teacher, holding on to your notebook as you wrote down something in it. The overwhelming feeling of being shocked at the upcoming test, turned into a smile in a split second, that was growing before he knew it. The same feeling he felt when you said those words you last time crossing his mind, a huge blast of courage bursted right through his veins.
"I've been training up a lot lately." He commented, the very sweet smile still etched onto his face. "It's pretty rough but I made it."
"That's still crazy though." You encourage, lighting up when you remembered his place in the entrance exam. "And you made it in the number 2 in the exam, that's amazing!"
Kirishima lightly blushed at the compliment, after all it still isn't every day he gets complimented by a girl, or anyone for that matter. But of course he smiled, scratching the side of nose, "well thanks!"
A loud shrill of a laser came and interrupted your friendly talk with the boy, a shiny blonde boy was making his way across with his belly-button laser, only to drop down for a second, then continuing once again second to a bright pink-colored girl.
Aoyama Yuga
Quirk: Navel Laser
He shoots a laser from his belly button! His recovery time is restrictive though!
"If I fired an instant longer, my stomach would have exploded." Aoyama had dramatically said, the sparkles around him still sparkling ever so bright.
"What's up with him?" Kirishima mumbled with a weirded-out stare, with you chuckling beside him amused. Kirishima chuckled right after, getting the same feeling all of a sudden.
"Bakugo, Midoriya, (last). You're up." The teacher called over, as you felt like sighing. This was too much work.
"Good luck out there!" Kirishima brought out his thumb out with a grin, as you walk to the starting line next to the scowling confident male, and the green-messy haired boy who looked like a nervous wreck.
"Um..good luck." You encouraged the nervous train wreck beside you, hoping to calm his nerves, as he flared red at your boost, nodding robotically at your encouragement.
Another fever?
You frowned worriedly over at him, as the spiky haired boy on your right scoffed loudly at the interaction, glaring harshly at the both of you.
Midoriya jumping away frightened, with you not even bothering to look over the boy. He's alittle too scary to look at to be honest, so the floor will do for now.
'looks like I'm just gonna run naturally.' You thought with a shrug.
When the whistle blew, Bakugo yelled, blasting his explosion behind like a rocket, flying off the finishing line, with you and Midoriya eating the dust he left behind.
4.13 seconds for Bakugo
7.02 seconds for Midoriya
7.32 seconds for you
You panted slightly, the rush burning your lungs as you stood next to a also heavily-breathing Midoriya. Not to shabby for someone who didn't use their quirk, you smiled pridefully. You got up from your bended down form, looking at the discourage face the broccoli was bearing.
Frowning, you poked him in the back causing him to jolt up in shock. "Don't be to down, you got even higher than I did."
You pointed out obviously with a small encouraging smile, he didn't reply, for some reason, blankly staring at you. He blinked, blushing once more. "Oh uh, yes!"
Looking closer towards Midoriya, you somehow felt this similar feeling you felt towards your Pokemon, a sense of protectiveness washing over you. He seems so unsure at times, and also so worried all the time. It was kinda cute.
You stretched the smile wider, giving an encouraging 'fighting!', as you walked off to watch the other racers once more.
Midoriya stood dead still, taking a moment to live in this moment in shock. 'I actually talked to a girl!'
Event 2: The Grip Strength
You pushed all of your muscle on this one, only to look at the device with a flimsy score. You didn't even bother once more, handing back the device offhandedly. It won't get any higher than that. There you noticed two students crowding around a many armed boy.
"540 kg?! Are you a gorilla, or an octopus?!" A skinny male with a very triangle smile asked, leaning over to stare at the masked boy's result.
You walked over interestedly. Quirks were always fascinating, you used to proclaim, and still do. Though the Pokemon power is mysterious, quirks could just be called that as well. A very interesting mystery.
"Octopus? That's sexy."
You heard a short boy with balls on his head compliment to the much larger male. Not sure what to think of said comment, you paid no mind to it, looking curiosity at the results with the males noticing your sudden appearance.
"Hmm, you do a lot of arm training?" You questioned the boy. Shoji gave you a glance, firmly nodding at your question. The grape balled boy almost looked like he was having a seizure, as he somehow was on eye-level with the triangle man, who was currently being brought back and forth.
"It's a girl! a hot gi-" Mineta feverishly, steaming with hormones as he eyed your focused form, asking the octopus guy more questions, with the strangled Sero unsure how to deal with the situation.
"What are you-" the choked up male was being brought back and forth like a tug-a-war, as the purpled-ball headed boy was basically drooling erratically.
Your currently invested look was torn away at the strange sight, causing the two males in the act standing still at your eyes. You blinking in confusion as Mineta slid off Sero, who was looking sheepish with a small blush on his face.
"Um..how'd you do on the grip test?" Your awkwardness was kicking in, as you asked the two pair, who was one, looking over at you quite hysterically, and the other tall triangle guy giving a friendly grin.
"Eh, not so bad." Sero had answered quickly, his elbow feeling rather heavy with you peering curiously at it.
'A Sellotape quirk?' You pondered interestedly, as Sero once again lightly blushed at your serious face closing up on his arm. You looked over the smallest boy in the class, a boy with grape-colored balls for hair on his head, who was still staring at you like a pack of meat.
You gave a small nod, unsure what else to say at this point. "Ah that's good." With that you walked away from the group to stare at the other students, leaving the three students you had imposed on.
Event 3: standing Long jump
Aoyama and Bakugo had done similar actions to the ones during the first event, you watched as Midoriya stumbled on the sand without making quite a far jump. Not that you had any say, cause you hadn't done that well as well.
You held up the notes, burying yourself into the notebook rather seriously next to Aizawa-sensei, who had his eyes trained on the boy on his bottom devastatingly. You heard the teacher give a small grunt in disapproval, making you worriedly look over at Midoriya.
Event 4: Side-stepping
Mineta was doing quite well for, what you can see, using his quirk to the advantage. A quite versatile quirk, but for combat you weren't to sure. You stood next to Kirishima once more, who was watching as silently as you were.
You peeled your eyes away from the small male, looking at the trouble boy not to far away with a frown. Midoriya isn't doing very well in this test too..
Event 5: Throwing
Just like the example Bakugo had given, the rest went up to bat up. Ochaco had pressed five of her fingers on the ball, causing it to float slowly out of sight, as Aizawa had showed of the result of an infinity.
"Infinity?! The symbol actually showed up!" Someone shouted in amazement, as you also mimic the persons obviously impressed look. Standing next to Midoriya, your invested expression took a turn. You weren't sure why but the tension of failing at something for some reason was floating through you.
Midoriya surely look devastated. Either that or he was slowly readying up for his death. The worried frown etched on your face wouldn't go away, as Midoriya flimsily went up for his turn, the poor guy looking paler by the second.
"Midoriya isn't doing very well." Iida commented with crossed arms, Ochaco who was beside you now, giving a small worried glance.
"Well duh!" Bakugo sneered with a glare at the comment, pointing offhandedly at the nervous boy. "He's a quirkless runt!"
'Quirkless..' You couldn't help but overhear. Well it would make sense with how he was doing so far lately, but from that video you saw during the entrance exam, that doesn't necessarily look like someone lacking in quirk.
"Quirkless?! So you haven't heard of his feats in the entrance exam?!" Iida pointed out in surprise, gesturing with his arm to Bakugo who retaliated with a an almost confused yell.
Midoriya looked ahead, pulling his arm back to throw large swing right off the bat. you looked expectingly at his form, it looked like he was going to pitch a home run today you thought with a smile,
He stumbled forwards, as the ball flew away. You blinked at the results. 46 meters. That gloomy aura around him was growing, as you bit your lips worriedly. He stared down at his hands in confusion, looking as lost as a sheep at this point.
"I erased your quirk."
Your eyes flew to the man clutching onto his scarves, the rest circling him like snakes, moving viciously to his command. His hair floated up as his red eyes were trained on to Midoriya.
"That ridiculous entrance exam." The teacher dryly said, his eyes piercing the panicking Midoriya. "Completely irrational when you consider someone like you got in."
"Erased? those goggles.." The green-messed hair boy was beginning ranting in shock. You mused to yourself in interest, to be frank you thought he was just some random teacher that wasn't a pro-hero. Well you were wrong, as he was a hero with a very intricate quirk. That one time he tried to use his quirk on your Pokemon, Aipom. But remembering again it didn't work, not that he was doing anything really but eating. But overall, it's still quite the amazing quirk.
A quirk that allows the user to temporarily 'erase' other quirks.
"Of course! He's the erasure hero: Eraserhead!"
The class chattered at his words, either never hearing about the pro-hero before, or hearing rumors here and there about him. You gave a small sigh, still feeling nervous for the boy, opting to eye around the oversized courtyard. At the peek of your eye, you noticed a figure hovering by the corner.
You squinted closer at the person. A large overbearing body, that was hidden behind the wall was peering behind. The rough face of a very noticeably face with a huge grin plastered on his face, and two pointed hair drawing to a large V.
It was all Might.
All might acting like a school girl watching a crush.
A very large pro-hero, the number one in whole Japan, was stalking someone. You supposed.
You could only awkwardly look away from the very overwhelming man, who was basically the most respected person in the whole Japan, as you came face to face with the sight of Aizawa barricading Midoriya sternly, and honestly harshly.
"Do you think he'll be okay..?" Uraraka neared you, leaning closer towards you in a search for comfort. Looking towards the now despaired Midoriya, walking slowly to the circle, with a pout in her lips.
"..." You didn't answer, with how he was doing and the obvious reaction Aizawa-sensei was giving, it wasn't the most likelist. Unless of course he has a plan to do something. You frowned worriedly.
A hand clapped on to your shoulders, and a similar thing happened to Uraraka as you both jumped in fright. "Are you worried about him? I'm..", Aoyama who had taken himself to talk to the both of you, smiled dazzlingly. "Not worried at all."
A silence fell around you three, and Uraraka comically gawked at the sparkling blonde. "..who are you?"
"Seems like he received some special instruction." Iida reasoned, focusing intently at Midoriya, as Bakugo just gave a haughty reply, with an intense glare, acting in a cocky manner.
"Yeah, the instruction to leave this school."
Perhaps there's more history between the two. The cocky guy and the nervous train wreck sure are an odd pair aren't they. You glared silently, confuse at his hatred, as Aoyama finally pulled away.
Midoriya pulled his hand back, ready to take another throw. You held your breath uneasily, as you watched as he put all his power in this last single throw.
'Come on..'
Out of nowhere a burst of wind slapped you in the face, and your eyes widen to see Midoriya throwing the ball up in a speed of light as it flew out of sight. You along with the entire class could onto gap at the power he held, as the ball finally fell, definitely much longer than he had done before.
Heavily breathing, he held his hand close to him. A finger purple and pulsing, as he turned to the teacher who was focused on the handheld device blankly.
"I can still move.." He tearfully held his one injured finger in a tight fist, looking confidentially at the teacher, who grinned maniacally.
"Woo!" Uraraka cheered next to you, as did many of your other classmates. "Now that's a hero-like record if I ever saw one!" Pumping internally.
"His finger appears to be swollen.." The engine-quirk based student put up a hand to look closely at Midoriya's stilled form. "What a strange quirk.."
You couldn't help but be amazed, for a quirk so likely to injure, it held promising abilities. Though you couldn't help but feel yourself buzzing to help out with his pulsing purple finger. Opening up your notebook that you held tightly to your chest, you busied yourself to write down the added information, until you found yourself looking at the most surprised out of all the students.
He shook with animalistic anger, shaking furiously. Gapping abash, as he barreled towards the unsuspecting boy, snarling with an anger that just couldn't be contained. "What the hell?!Explain yourself Deku!"
Midoriya yelled out as Bakugo produced explosion on his palms, furiously making his way towards him. Aizawa acted fast, capturing Bakugo in his hard cloth to immobilized him in his track.
"This cloth, it's stiff!" Bakugo was still straining to move forwards like a dog on his leash. Aizawa looked to be done at this point, activating his quirk upsetly. "It's a capture weapon made of carbon fibers and a special alloy wire."
He grunted with a harsh glare, "geez, stop using your quirk, I'm getting dry eyes here."
He quickly hurried the students to move to finish the last few events. Bakugo to struck to move, stood menacingly in the middle, as Midoriya trotted over to where he stood, next to you.
"Midoriya..are you okay?" You concernedly took his hand into yours, scanning it carefully. His adorable freckled face was once again turning to a very light shade of red. He can barely get used to girls talking to him, not to mention a pretty girl, but here you were already comfortably holding onto his hands worriedly.
He avoided eye contact, opting to look everywhere but you. "Uh, I'm f-fine!"
You knitted your brow, not believing a single word. "You say that, but just last time you had a fever during the entrance exam." He blew up redder this time, looking so red he might as well be steaming once more. "See, you have it again!" You scolded the boy.
"I-it's not like that!" The boy didn't bother pulling his hand away, simply shying away with his other hand, nervous mumbling to himself.
"We should check up on the nurse office, Midoriya-San." You examined his finger continuously.
He was steaming, not sure if he could take someone companying him to nurse office, yet his blush subsided when it clicked in his mind you said his name. "H-how'd you know my name?"
"Hmm?" You questioned with a perk, looking away from his injured finger. "Oh, I help out Aizawa-sensei, so I looked through everyone's files.."
You realized you were holding his hand captive at the moment, causing you to let go a bit embarassed. "Ah-we should probably go back to the next event." As Midoriya felt himself feeling flustered due to your sudden shy nature.
"Y-yeah!"
Bakugo, still rooted to the ground, peered at the interaction. He sneered, a 'tch' leaving his lips as he watched his childhood 'friend' finally making friends. What's even weirder was to see someone be so meddling like that girl.
He glowered as they both rushed off to the next event, feeling annoyed for some reason.
~•~•~
"Moving along, time for the results." Eraserhead stood in front of the crowds of student, all fidgeting uncomfortably with anticipation. You stood next to Midoriya, who was frustratedly looking down at his own two feets.
Midoriya was definitely getting to worked up on himself, that he didn't notice you doing just, or even more terrible than he did. You gave him a small pat to ease his concern, smiling coyly.
The boy will just be fine.
Besides you aren't even joining as a hero. Does it matter if you get expelled?
"Also I was lying about expelling someone."
A pin could drop and you would still hear it, as everyone who was holding their breaths didn't even thought to breathe at the teachers words, who gave a very sinister grin of his own, looking at all the dumbfounded students before him.
"It's a rational deception meant to bring out the best in all of you."
Everyone screamed in shock, Midoriya was losing his soul at the teachers words as you shrugged your shoulders. Iida who was screaming just as shock as Midoriya, looking ready to scold the teacher. Ochaco, strucked shock, looked towards your rather lax form.
"(L-last)-chan? You knew about this?!" She gazed at you in disbelief, as you gave a small shrug, a nervous laugh leaving you.
"Well, no." You said, as the sweet tea girl looked more confused.
"Of course it was a lie, I suppose you knew that too (last)-San." Yaoyorozu who was at ease this whole time, looking towards you expectingly.
"Well.." You tried to say. You were surprise to say the least, but not all that bothered. If it was a lie, you didn't really believed that. You did sneakingly peeked at Aizawa's file. 154 expelled students said hello, but your classmates didn't need to know that.
"Anyways we're done here." The teacher turned away from everyone, the results appearing beside him. As expected, Yaoyorozu did extremely well, reaching the top in seconds. Second to her was Todoroki Shoto, the other recommended student in the class, who had done the test rather silently but coolly. The third was Bakugo Katsuki, the rather ticked off student, who actually knew how to use his quirk well. Looking down at the bottom of the result, you went to see your name expectingly.
20. Midoriya Izuku
21. (Last) (name)
Midoriya's eyes widen at the results, looking over to your unbothered smile, giving him an eye smile. "Looks like you had nothing to worry about there, Midoriya-san."
He lit up lightly, "n-no. But-!"
"Midoriya." He stood stiffly in front of the teacher, who appeared giving the boy a tired look. "Have recovery girl fix you up, Tomorrows trial aren't gonna be easier. (Last), company him."
You nodded obediently, as the teacher dismissed the class. "Let's go." You invited the boy to walk next to you. He jogged over as you both made your way towards the nurse office in silence.
Rubbing your shoulders, you could feel yourself feeling a bit drained. Not to the point of exhaustion, but enough for you to drag your feet to the office. "the tests were quite tiring, how was is it for you Midoriya-san?"
"You don't have to call me so formally." The boy rubbed his neck bashfully, his red shoes much more entertaining at the moment. "Um..okay..I guess."
You chuckled, ending up in front of recovery girl's office. Recovery girl was an elder hero standing much shorter than norm. She was busying herself on the desk, sitting on her swirly chair. She perked as the door slid open, looking at the two students entering her office.
After she gave a large sloppy smooch onto Midoriya's purple finger, his hand automatically healed. Both your and Midoriya watching in amazement, though as amazed as Midoriya was, he began to deflate tiredly.
"My quirk boosts your own healing factor" the elder lady gave her own smile, pulling out a container to hand some vitamins you presume. "But recovery requires stamina. Keep on getting hurt like this, and you'll eventually run out of stamina and die."
"I'll die?!"
Midoriya shivered uncontrollably, which made you lightly laugh. You patted his shoulder pleasantly, his head robotically turning to your eye smile. "That's why you should try not to hurt yourself with your quirk alright?"
"That's much easier to say.." Midoriya said upset, as Recovery seemed to agree, looking agitatedly over to the curly-haired boy.
"She's right, you gotta train up that quirk of yours!" She scolded him, her angered expression wasn't as terrifying, but it still made him nod hurriedly. She turned to the other occupant in her little office. "Are you also injured as well dear?"
"Ah-no, I'm just accompanying him." You informed her, as the elder lady pressed forwards to hand the container, causing you pluck out the little energy boosts hesitantly.
"Well, alright. Have a safe trip back home." She trailed towards both of your leaving form. Politely bidding her goodbye, the two of you walked out of the building. Midoriya, obviously stricken down and tired, was walking sluggishly, sagging forward in an attempt to go home.
"I'm pooped.."
"Hmm? Did you say something?" You asked him, who jumped. Did he forget you were next to him? You thought amusedly at the panicking boy.
"N-nothing-" another hand was placed on his shoulders, the tall male with engines on his calves. Poor Midoriya was getting frightened so often today, he might as well faint at some point.
"How's your finger?"
"Iida! It's fine, thanks to recovery girl.." Midoriya explained in a state of shock. He perked, turning to you thankfully as well. "Thank for accompanying me too, (last)-chan!"
You nodded in reply, as Iida promptly noticed your form. "(Last)-San is it? It's nice to make your acquaintance!"
The very serious boy greeted you properly, his glasses glinting. You smiled shyly to him, "pleased to meet you as well." The boy nodded, before he began ranting on the last events that took place before.
"But Aizawa-sensei sure fooled us, he made me think 'so this is what it takes to be on top'!" He seriously walked along side you and Midoriya, "our own instructor deceived us! As expected of U.A!"
You chuckled at his odd movements, with Midoriya smiling next to you.
"Hey, you three! Headed to the station? Wait up!" Uraraka was jogging over to you and the boys. She trotted closer towards you, hoping to walk along side the growing group.
"Hey Uraraka-San.." You waved at the girl you got aquatinted this very morning, as she perked over to your side friendlily.
"Just Uraraka-chan is enough (last)-chan!" She smiled sweetly over to you. 'Right', you rubbed the back of your head. Maybe you should lay of the formal talk you thought to yourself.
"Ah, Infinty girl." Iida stated, probably talking about her amazing feat during the throw. It was to be expected with her quirk of course, but it is rather incredible. She looked slightly embarrassed, rubbing the back of her head with a grin.
"I'm Uraraka Ochaco! You're Iida Tenya.." Pointing over to the blue-haired student, and she moved over to Midoriya. "And you're Midoriya..Deku, right?"
"Deku?!" Midoriya shouted in shock, as Uraraka slowly retraced her memory.
"During the test that Bakugo guy said that didn't he?" She remembered clearly the angry guy screaming that nickname. You oddly remembered him saying that as well.
"Um, my real name is Izuku." Midoriya explained, looking shyly away. "It's just Kaachan being a bully."
'Oh..' The mood went down slightly at his words. Lida nodded understandingly, "a derogatory pet name then?"
Deku is basically a word for a blockhead, good-for-nothing, a fool or someone that couldn't achieve anything. It seems to hurt him slightly, as Uraraka apologized.
"But (last)-chan, doesn't 'Deku' sound like 'do your best!' Or something." Uraraka still smiled, asking for your input curiously.
You thought about it, It did sound a bit familiar. You smiled, "yes, it does doesn't it. That's really cool of you Uraraka-chan. I like it."
The girl gleamed excitedly at your approval, "right?" As you both turned to look at a very red in the face Midoriya who was staring ahead blankly.
"Hi, I'm Deku."
"Midoriya!" Iida pressed in confusion, gesturing widely with his hand. "Show a bit of back-bone! It's an insult isn't it?!"
Midoriya in an overwhelming state of embarrassment, hid his face behind his hands. "It's like the copernican revolution..."
"The coperni- what?" Uraraka asked blankly, looking towards you for probable answers. You answered with a shrug.
"It's the paradigm shift from the Ptolemaic model to the helicentric model."
Uraraka looks more confuse, asking more questions through your statement. Which you answered as best as you can towards the baffled girl. You almost didn't bear to tell her you already missed home, so you opted to just buy some groceries for the day.
~•~•~
"I'm home!" You called out towards the Pokemon, hearing their answers from their respective spots. You entered the house with multiple of plastic bags, trying to get to the kitchen so you can put them away.
You passed by your couch, seeing a familiar frog Pokemon sitting their seriously. Greninja was meditating silently on the couch, the Pokemon immerse in his own activities. You cocked your head curiously at it.
Shrugging your shoulders at the silent Pokemon, you walked passed it to put away the stuff in the fridge and cabinet. It wasn't long until you felt the frog's shadow looming over your crouched form putting away the vegetables.
It's usually very serious face was smiled relaxed, his eyes closed contently as he slouched a bit. You stared at him confused.
"What's wrong?"
It didn't reply, as you rested your hand in his slimy head, the usually quiet and aloof pokemon was seemingly in a peace light. You gave it a small pat, which it had to bend down more for you to so, before telling him go out so you can begin cooking up.
It obediently nodded, walking back to his seat in the couch. You busied yourself with all the ingredients, perhaps a simple soup would be enough? You went to take out the ingredients and got ready to prepare the material.
You walked towards the small tables outside, putting a few bowls until you realized the very same black-clad teacher sitting silently on the chair.
"Holy-you have to stop that Aizawa-sensei." You whined to the teacher, who opened his tired eyes open to stare at you. Greninja had went to see what the fuss about, but was just as surprise to see the teacher lazily seating himself on the chairs.
Maybe he was really relaxed today, for the frog got defensive quickly at the arrival of a stranger, looking ready to attack.
"Woah..it's okay." You held up your hand which it noted, visibly relaxing. You told it to go back to what it's doing, which it hesitantly did. Throughout the whole process, Aizawa only watched with tired eyes.
His eyes trailed back to you in question. "That one looks older.."
You shrugged, seating yourself in the seat close by. "Well it is his final form. I found him when he was only a froakie in a pond near my house."
Aizawa didn't understood most of the words you said, but he nodded anyways. He grumbled tiredly, before he went to the gist of the reasoning of him being here.
"I need to ask you about your quirk."
Chapter six. The very long chapter of The quirk assessment test. Today's chapter just about that lol. I cant believe it too me forever to get into the first day of UA, but here we are. Either way, I'm excited to start meeting more of the characters and interacting with them. So we're definitely getting closer to the three mains, mostly Midoriya and Uraraka. Iida will get his chance soon. There always a thrill to watch, and they are a thrill to write as well. We met Kirishima again, he's so cute! But alittle side character interaction with shoji, Sero, Mineta. All very interesting characters!
You know..I'm wondering if I should make a Halloween special. But the book just started so I'm not sure if I should. And I'm still wondering how to make it without spoiling to much...hm. Well anyways, if you're interested tell me down below in the comment section.
By the way, we got greninja in the fray. The very seriously ninja Pokemon huhuhu. This was requested by erinm2003, it's still a small entrance to the story, but not to worry they'll appear again as the story progresses.
Next chapter is definitely more about new interaction between other characters! So that's all for today, thanks for all your encouragement just like usual, and till next Tuesday.
