Prologue

Midoriya's face was beet red. He was blushing as his thoughts were running so wild that he couldn't even focus on the show that Uraraka had insisted they watch. She was sitting on the sofa beside him. She had her knees up to her chest and she was hugging a pillow that covered the lower half of her face as she watched the screen intently. Midoriya had been distracted watching her eyes grow wider and react to whatever was on screen, but that was when he noticed that her arm was touching his, which is what had caused the fire in his cheeks.

Izuku could hear their classmates nearby, all chatting or doing their own thing, but what if one of them noticed? Scenarios of the many taunts that could be thrown at him raced through his mind. And what about Uraraka? Did she touch his arm on purpose? Had she even noticed? What if he had caused their arms to touch? Would she think he was creepy? His heart raced as he tried to figure out what he should do.

Midoriya's string of panicked thoughts was interrupted by Iida bursting into the room and shouting, "I need control of the TV!"

"Ah! W-we weren't' doing anything!" Midoriya shouted in surprised panic. Luckily no one paid any attention to his outburst and he didn't have to explain himself.

"Iida? What is it? Can't it wait until the end of the episode?" Uraraka asked, but Iida had already used his speed to run over to the TV and was flipping through the channels rapidly until he came to the news.

"No, this is urgent," Iida insisted.

"What's going on?" Yaoyorozu asked as she and a few others were drawn over to them by Iida's shouting. The channel finally landed on a news channel and was displaying a sort of war zone as the camera, likely from a helicopter, tried to catch the chaos below. There was a lot of smoke and fire, but through it could be seen rubble of buildings with a small army of people that were clearly recognizable as villains. A few bodies were scattered on the ground, some of which were wearing school uniforms.

"Its another academy to the north," Iida explained with a grim tone as more of their classmates gathered around. "They have only a small hero program, but they're under attack. It looks like an army of people who follow the ideals of the Hero Killer. It's believed that they are supposedly trying to purge those they feel aren't worthy of the title of 'hero'. Many students have been killed, whether they were a part of the hero program or not. They've lost quite a few pro heroes as well."

"This is awful!" Uraraka gasped as the camera caught a villain running an abnormally large sword straight through the chest of a student.

The camera moved to a different angle likely from another helicopter that had a better view, which focused on two people standing in front of a group of about 8 or so. The two in front, one of which was a student, were defending the others behind them. The student was a girl wielding gauntlets made of stone. The camera focused on her for a moment as another muscle strong villain approached and she punched him away. For that moment, her face was clear.

Midoriya's eyes widened in recognition and disbelief.

"Kacchan! Kacchan get in here!" he shouted, still not taking his eyes off the screen. He was yanked to his feet by Bakugo holding him roughly by his shirt collar.

"You dare call for me like I'm some freaking mutt, you damn nerd?! I'll kill you!" Bakugo threatened, the palm of his other hand sparking dangerously. For once, Midoriya didn't pay any mind to the threats. Instead he kept his eyes locked on the screen.

Almost numbly, Midoriya lifted his shaking finger to point to the tv and said, "I-It's her. It's Terra!"

"The hell are you yammering about?" Bakugo growled, following Midoriya's eyes to the screen. He dropped the green haired boy in surprise when he saw the girl on screen. "Terra Rikuto... No way, it can't be!"

He and Midoriya watched their childhood friend as three more villains approached. She was breathing heavily from exhaustion and bleeding from a cut on her cheek, but it was definitely her. The hero that had been by her side was now on the ground with the people behind her and seriously injured. She punched the ground with her gauntlet and a ledge of stone leaped up from the ground and knocked the oncoming villains back, then continued to reach upward and form a rock dome around Terra and the wounded.

Bakugo fell back onto the couch next to Midoriya as they watched the villains get back up and even more join them as they tried to break through the sphere of stone. After a few minutes, they managed to break a hole through and begin tearing it down. They ripped a large part open to reveal that the dome was now empty, showing a hole in the ground where it's inhabitants had escaped.

The camera crew wasn't able to catch a glimpse of Terra or her group again. Over the next few hours a combination of police force and heroes managed to put an end to the fighting. The camera showed the completely destroyed school, along with bodies of students, heroes, and villains scattered everywhere, before they switched the feed over to a man at a desk far away from all of the action.

They could only guess how many were dead, and noted that it was very unlikely that the school would open again. The talked on for a bit about what could have caused a group of villains that large to form, or why they might have chose that school, before they switched to another program. It left the students of class 1A watching a commercial in shock, as well as leaving Bakugo and Midoriya wondering what had happened to Terra.

"Hey Deku," Uraraka spoke softly, "Who was that girl?"

Bakugo jumped to his feet, ignoring the questioning looks from his classmates as he made his way to his room. Midoriya explained that the girl was Terra Rikuto, a friend from when she, Midoriya and Bakugo were children. While they had been very close when they were younger, neither of them had spoken to her since she visited briefly a few years ago. The rest of the class decided not to ask him any more questions since he was visibly upset.

Bakugo sat alone in his darkened room staring at his phone. He needed to know what happened, but who should he call? It's not like she had a cell back then. Should he even call? It had been years since they'd last seen eachother. With everything that had just happened, would anyone be able to answer? Was she even alive? He clenched his phone tighter, trying to keep his hands from shaking.

"Dammit," he swore in frustration.
