Chapter 8
"Did our plan work?" Yaoyoruzu asked in a whisper as she and Aoyama gathered their bags, "Are they any closer to each other?"
"I can't be sure. For those first few hours the talked about the most boring things, not really bonding material. I may have fallen asleep because it was so basic... but when I woke up they were holding hands!" Aoyama reported.
"That could be nothing. She holds hands with Midoriya all the time," Yaoyoruzu sighed.
"Oui, but its not usual for Todoroki. I doubt he thinks its nothing," the blond winked at her. The students gathered their things and entered the sort of log cabin looking building .
"This is the common area. We'll meet here each morning before we go to the training grounds. As you got off the bus you each got a slip with a room number. You'll be rooming four to a room each separated by gender. Make sure you all behave yourselves. Go find your rooms, get unpacked and change into your gym clothes. We'll meet back here in an hour for our first exercise in an hour," Aizawa said before crawling into his yellow sleeping bag again and flopping onto the sofa.
"He slept like the whole way here. How can he still be tired?" Sero asked to which Tokoyomi replied with a shrug.
"Hey quit following me," Terra playfully bumped Bakugo's side as they began walking down the hallway.
"I'm not following you, my room's down this way. You're following me," he scoffed, but a good-natured grin rested on his face.
"No, my room is this way. See? It's right here!" Terra told him, reaching for a door handle. Bakugo double checked his card before going one door farther down and opening the door.
"It says's this ones mine," he shrugged.
"Huh, it looks like all of the rooms are down this hall," Uraraka noticed.
"Well the building isn't very big. These must be the only rooms," Tsu said as she and came up behind Uraraka.
"Uh- um Kacchan, are you in this room too?" Deku asked hesitantly.
"What? Like hell I'm sharing a room with you nerd! You must've read your stupid card wrong," Bakugo growled, snatching the card from the green haired boy's hands. "Dammit," he swore, realizing that their room numbers matched.
"Something wrong?" Terra asked them in confusion.
Deku floundered around for an answer, "W- well um..."
"Hey Bakubro! This you're room? Looks like we'll be bunking together!" Kirishima cut in, throwing his arm around Bakugo's shoulders.
"You three are in this room as well?" Todoroki asked, walking up from the other end of the hallway. "This should be interesting."
"So! It looks like it's Rikuto, Uraraka, Tsu and me," Yaoyorozu said, approaching the other girls, "This should be so much fun! Just like a sleepover!"
"Heck yeah! This'll be a blast!" Terra agreed opening their door to reveal two bunk beds.
Tsu came entered the room last and said, "Though it's likely we'll be too tired from training for too much fun." She closed the door behind them. Each girl chose a bed and began changing into their gym clothes. It wasn't long before their heard Bakugo shouting something they couldn't quite make out through the wall.
Terra pounded on the wall beside her bed to get the boy's attention before shouting, "Hey! Cut that out! I don't want to hear that going all night, you hear me?!" No one responded, but the shouting stopped. They could faintly hear Kirishima laughing, most likely at Bakugo. Terra's eyes went wide as a realization hit her. She looked to her roommates and Uraraka noticed her panicked look. When Yaoyorozu and Tsu were done changing and were ready to leave the room, Uraraka asked Terra if she could try doing something with her hair. Tsu and Yaoyorozu didn't think anything of it and left the room.
"What's that look about?" Uraraka asked, eyes full of concern.
"It's just... I didn't think of it til now but because of my nightmares, I've been waking up screaming," Terra said in a hushed voice. "If I do that tonight...."
"Just about everyone in class 1A, as well as the teachers will know," Uraraka finished for her. She set her hand on Terra's shoulder and said. "Don't worry. I'm sure we'll think of something." Terra nodded her head and thanked her. They talked over possible options as Uraraka helped Terra style her hair into a bun that was hopefully sturdy enough to stay in through training before they joined the others in the common area.
Terra approached her general group of friends and Todoroki was the first to look down to her and say, "You did your hair different."
She blushed, suddenly self conscious. She hadn't even looked in the mirror before she'd left the room. Usually for training she would just throw her mess of brown hair up into a ponytail. "Good different? Or bad different?"
"Good different," he nodded. "If it holds it may be more efficient than your ponytail," he paused to look away from her, "and it looks nice."
"Thanks Shoto," she sighed with relief. "Uraraka helped me with it, but I didn't really get to see it. For a second there I was worried that I looked ridiculous."
"That's enough chatter listen up," Aizawa said, drawing the attention of his students. "Look training tonight has been canceled."
"Huh? But why?" Aishido asked, unable to hide her disappointment.
"Some Villains were apprehended trying to stage an attack-"
"Villains?! Not again!" Mineta wailed, cutting in.
"That's enough! As I've said, they've been apprehended. They were small-time just trying to make an impression. Still we're keeping you indoors tonight to make sure everything is safe. We'll resume training in the morning. We'll meet here at 9, got it?" The class made sounds of acceptance before Aizawa disappeared again. Most of the class changed out of gym clothes before returning to the common area. Most of them were just sitting around when the subject of fighting came up.
"It's kind of a bummer that Rikuto and Bakugo never got to finish their fight," Kaminari said from his place beside Jiro.
"Indeed. It looked like it would be a mighty battle," Tokoyomi agreed.
"But who do you think would have won?" Ojiro asked with a flick of his tail. This stirred up a bit of a debate among the class.
"Bakugo's one of the strongest in the class," Kirishima noted.
"But Terra is more level headed," Todoroki countered.
"What do you think Midoriya?" Tsu asked, her question getting everyone's attention. "You've known them the longest."
"Terra, would win" Midoriya replied without pause. For once his reply didn't take too much time to think about with him muttering the whole way, but his answer was just as sure. The class gasped in surprise.
"No way! She's that strong?" Sero asked.
Bakugo lunged for Midoriya's throat. He held the green haired boy up by the collar of his shirt and snarled, "Why the hell do you think that ya damn nerd! I'm so much stronger now! I'd blow her away!"
"Now? Was it different in the past?" Uraraka asked, picking up on Bakugo's phrasing.
"N-not that you're not strong Kacchan! T-That's just the way its a-always been!" Deku frantically explained, waving his hands in the air defensively.
"The way it's always been? So she's beaten him before," Todoroki noted.
"And multiple times by the sound of it," Tokoyomi added.
"DAMMIT!" Bakugo roared in embarrassment, "That's it! Let's go Rikuto! I'll take you on right here right now!"
"You want to fight?" Terra said with an excited smile, "Sure! It's been a long time since we've tousled!"
"She's agreeing to it?!" most of the class exclaimed in unison.
"Tousled?" Todoroki asked looking to Midoriya for answers.
He shrugged and replied, "Fight without quirks."
Iida immediately sprang between them, saying that fighting was prohibited. They managed to convince him by saying that it wasn't a fight it was a 'Tousle', that it would be without quirks, and that he could be the judge. Without long the two were standing on a mat that Yaoyorozu made and squaring up.
"It's just like old times," Terra said with a smile. "Brings back memories!"
"Things are different now. I've gotten much stronger since then," he told her unable to hold back a smile of his own. "There's no way I'll lose."
"Care to bet on that?" Terra asked with no small amount of confidence.
"You're damn right I'll bet. Dinner from the loser to the winner?" He offered, tilting his head to the side.
"You're on!" she grinned, widening her stance.
"I'd put money on Terra," Deku joked.
"I'll take that bet!" Kirishima said with a sharp-toothed grin, "I don't doubt that Terra's tough, but Bakugo is the man!"
"I'm with Kirishima," Uraraka said reluctantly, "I've fought with both. Bakugo's reflexes are just too fast!"
"But when you're practicing learning new moves, your movement is more focused on accuracy then speed," Todoroki reasoned.
"Yeah, I'd say Rikuto's got this! Girl power!" Aishido cheered. After a few others threw in their input, they all refocused on the fight.
Bakugo lunged first. Terra dodged his first swing and hit back. Which he blocked with one arm so he could swing with the other. In terms of reflex they were pretty evenly matched. In terms of strength and reach, Bakugo had the advantage. Terra had the advantage of fighting without quirks as well as the extra hand to hand training. After a few more blows that didn't do anything they clasped hands as Bakugo pushed Terra back a bit.
"Bakugo does seem to have the upper hand," Shoji said. Terra broke off and kicked out, which he blocked with both arms.
"Please with his manly strength, he's totally got this!" Kirishima laughed.
At hearing his friends words, Bakugo got a little overconfident. He locked hands with Terra again, pushing her back more as he taunted, "See if you had just come to UA right away instead of going to that other school, maybe we would have stayed on the same level."
For just for a moment, an image flashed before Terra's eyes. Just a moment of sparring with Reiji, the orange haired boy from her memories. They'd locked hands like this when sparring too. Her heart squeezed. Bakugo probably hadn't meant to, but he had just insulted everyone from that school. Something dangerous flashed in her eyes, and Bakugo realized his mistake too late.
Deku saw it too and said, "This match is over."
She ducked down, and since he was pushing forward, the sudden force keeping him back was gone. He fell forward, and using her training, she caught him, flipped him forward onto his back on the ground. She flipped herself back and over him, kneeling on his chest and pinning his arms.
Iida threw one of his arms into the air and said, "The match is over! Rikuto wins!"
As Terra looked down to Bakugo, she recognized his face of disappointment and slight anger below her. For a moment she saw his much younger self, making the exact same face as he had made when she had pinned him years ago, and laughed. She got to her feet and offered him a hand. He took it and she helped pull him to his feet.
"See? I've gotten stronger too!" She smiled at him.
"Yeah, I might have deserved that one," he said it was his way of apologizing for his comment. When he had said it, he hadn't meant anything against her previous school, and she knew it. He could also tell by her smiley attitude that she had already forgiven him. "But don't let it get to your head! You wont trick me with some flippy shit next time!"
She chuckled and said, "Whatever you need to tell yourself. All that matter's is that you owe me dinner!"
"Wow! She turned that around really fast!" Uraraka said with surprise.
"So unmanly," Kirishima sighed.
"You shut your mouth! If your damn annoying comments wouldn't have distracted me I never would have lost!" Bakugo snarled at him, making the others laugh.

"Where is Nightshade?" a rough looking man asked beside the teal haired woman at the bar. With long dark purple nails she tapped on the glass of her drink.
"She's been captured by the heroes, according to plan," the woman sighed. She needed the other girl to be closer to their target.
"Hey you didn't say anything about rescuing anyone from heroes," the man said gruffly as a few other men moved closer. They were all part of a hired muscle group. No one was extremely gifted and while they could be used to threaten citizens, dealing with heroes wasn't something they could easily handle.
"I have other arrangements for that," she assured them, "Now about your fee-"
"Keep it," another of the men said stepping forward. "Your old man was one of us. If this is to get back at the bitch that got him, we'll do it for him." The other men behind him made sounds of agreement.
"Very well," the woman said, before finishing her drink and saying, "Let's move."
