Chapter 19

The teal haired woman grinned down at Terra, who was pinned down but the frozen memory of the rhino villain.  Terra's minds raced, hating the fact that the only things she could think to say were so cliche. 'Who are you? What do you want? Let me go!'

So instead of asking, she focused on trying to escape.  What had happened that day, after Haru's shields had perched her from the snake woman,  after the giant ball of cement has crushed Haru's skull,  Terra's emotions had run wild.  With a burst of pain filled energy, the ground beneath her had formed fists that jumped up and stuck the rhino villain, knocking him back into the woman, causing them both to fall away.  Terra had run to Haru's side.  Realizing that Haru was gone a pro had dragged her away to protect the survivors.

Now, they're was no last burst of energy, only the fresh wave of pain that came from watching the purple haired girl die again.  The strength wouldn't have mattered, the villain pinning her down wasn't alive. It was as if he were made of stone, but not a kind Terra could control.

"Still parading around as a hero are you? Murderer," the woman spat.

"What are you talking about?" Terra growled, trying to recover and refocus her strength.

"How can you ask that? I've had nightmare show you for weeks! Do you really need to see it again?!"  She asked.

A dark mist swirled around beside the woman and took the shape of Nightmare.  "Are you sure Priscilla?" she aked.

"Just do it," the teal haired woman snapped, closing her eyes.

The scene around them was rewound and Terra found herself back on her feet.  Before she could fully proces what had just happened the scene was playing again.  She looked around to see the cement villain approaching Haru. Her wounds hadn't healed though.  She took a staggered step towards her friend.

"No," Terra breathed before the rhino villain slammed into her again, this time she could hear the crunch of one of her ribs breaking from the second impact.

Again she was powerless. Again Haru reached out to her.  Again, Terra's spikes reached the villain, only for them to be too late. Terra tore her eyes away as the cement ball came down,  ready to sling insults at Priscilla, only to find that the teal haired woman herself had her eyes averted, not wanting to watch.

Terra looked back to the scene. Part of it was blurred, because at that moment she had been too focused on her friend. But for the first time, she took the entire scene in.  In her panic to save her friend, the had formed anything to knock the villain away.   Everything had happened too fast. All she had managed to make were the generic spikes she used for long distance.  They had jumped up eith such s force that they had gone clean through the villain.  They glistened red with blood in the other side of him.

Terra remembered that when she had checked on Haru that she had been vaguely aware of what she had done.  She knew that after everything there had been a trial of sorts. In the end it had been deemed a necessity for survival, and his death had been added to the numerous casualties of that battle.  One hero had proved her aside and gave her a lecture that it was NEVER okay for a hero to kill someone.  Another hero argued that if she had been a soldier in a war she would have been awarded a metal.  All she knew at the time was that she wanted to go home.

Terra's eyes widened as she looked to Priscilla, noticing now that her skin had a pale grayish hue, the same as the color of cement the villain had been using.  Before, he had only been a villain. A sort of emotionless monster that had killed her friend, someone that had to be stopped.

"Now you see?" Priscilla asked. "You killed him.  You killed my father. And so, I'm going to kill you. But first..." she paused to look at the woman with snake arms. Terra only now noticed the striking resemblance. Besides the woman frozen in the memory having snakes for arms, the two women had similar body shapes, the same snakelike alits in their eyes, even the same hair color.

"My mother was locked up after that day, and after seeing what you did to my father she was never the same. She made me promise that I would make you suffer, the way that we suffered." As she spoke her arm warped. It grew longer, twisted and writhed about. Her had molded into the face of a snake. It grew longer then disconected from her shoulder.

It had become a python made of cement, it's own being. It perched itself on her shoulders and the cement like skin from her shoulder began to mold itself a new arm.

Priscilla kissed the snake on the snout and said, "you know what to do."

It slithered off her shoulders and towards Terra, growing as it moved forward. Before it reached her it had grown to a monstrous size, likely big enough to swallow her in one bite. It opened its mouth wide as it drew near.  She pressed her food forward into the ground, and a stone pillar grew up in front of her, but instead it moved around her. She looked behind herself to see what it was after and here eyes widened in horror.

A ways behind her, clearly injured and clutching at his side was a familiar boy with a mess of green hair. His leg was twisted funny, clearly broken. He reached out to her as the snake reared up, ready to strike. He wouldn't be able to run.

"Deku!" Terra cried out reaching for him. How did he get here? How did he get so hurt? It didnt make any sense!

"Terra!" He shouted in fear, reaching out as the snake lunged. Deku's eyes widened in terror as the shadow descended. "Help me!"

"No!" Terra shouted, realizing she'd never make it in time.

Suddenly, the image of her friend flickered ever so sightly, the edges of his frame blurred.

"You're not real," Terra murmured in realization.  She was dreaming. She turned her back on the scene of her friend begging for help to glare at Priscilla. "He's not real," she said firmly as dream Deku screamed as he was devoured by the snake. She could hear the slight distortions in his voice. She had never heard Deku scream in pain in real life but she knew that wasn't it.

Priscilla glared down at Nightmare and said in irritation, "I thought you said she wouldn't be able to notice?"

"I'm sorry, each mind is different," Nightnare apologized, "Talking with you is likely a reminder of where she is.  Dont worry, the longer she is here, the more she will forget. It shouldn't take long."

"Fine," Priscilla sighed. Still her lips curved up into a smile, "Then we'll just have to start with the ones that are here."

Nightmare pointed her hand to the sky behind Terra, followed by the sound of a door opening.  Terra looked behind her once more. The cement snake have been slithering about in circles, seemingly irritated that it had been fed a false meal. Just above it,  a door had appeared and swung open. With a slew of curses Bakugo and Todoroki had fallen from it and into the clutches of the snake.  It coiled around them tightly, threatening to crush them as it bared its fangs at Terra. Bakugo tried to blast it, but the explosion was muffled by the coils.

"I am going to enjoy every second of this," Priscilla grinned as she and Nightmare disappeared.

"Dammit!" Bakugo swore. Terra studied the scene intently, hoping to find some blur, some slight defect to prove it wasn't them. She found none. The snake coiled tighter still, causing Bakigo and Todorokie to shout in pain.

"Kacchan!" She called to them, mustering up what strength she had to fight.  "Shoto!"

"Stay away," Todoroki warned, before he shouted in pain as it tightened around him. Terra heard the snap of a few bones.

She sank to her knees and pressed her palms to the earth. Two giant stone arms reached up. Bakugo screamed and for a moment she lost her focus. The thumb of the left hand broke off and landed dangerously close to her.  The debris that shot up when it collided with the ground scratched her skin.  If she wasn't careful, she'd be crushed by her own quirk.
