Chapter 18

"Dammit!" Bakugo swore as he fell.  He used a few explosions from his palms to try to push himself back upwards, back to Terra.  He got close and reached for the ground he had fallen from, but his hand went through it, as if it were mist. Then the whole image of Terra and the battle faded into nothing and he continued falling.

Suddenly he had hit the ground, almost as if it had come up to meet him instead of him falling towards it. Luckily he didn't hit too hard and instantly jumped to his feet. It was almost as if he was standing on a sheet of glass, with dark nothingness set above him and below him.  He had landed next to Todoroki and the others.

"What the hell happened?" he growled.

"We got separated from Terra's point of consciousness," Calderon said as mist began to swirl around them. "We'll be wandering through memories from here, but eventually they should meet back up with her."

"We're going to be wandering through Terra's memories?" Todoroki asked a bit uneasily.

"We have to get back to her. We cant let her go through all that alone," Bakugo growled.

"Let's move on,"  Aizawa told them. As he spoke, the swirling mist took form, creating a new world. They were inside a house. The room was dark, illuminated only by a tv. On the screen was the news and threw it they could hear All Might's triumphant laugh.  Just before the tv sat three wide-eyed kids.

"He's so cool!" a tiny Izuku cheered. "I want to be just like him one day!"

"Pfft. Dream on Deku," a tiny Bakugo scoffed. "I'm going to be the number one hero one day!"

"How are you going to be number one when you're always second to me?" Terra asked playfully.  In a different tone, her words would have been mean, but she meant it as a joke and he knew that.

"Is that a challenge?" the young Bakugo asked with a grin, rising to his feet. Terra rose to meet him, laughing all the way.  "You bet!"

"Guys! We're supposed to be quiet!" Deku warned nervously, "Its late and Kacchan's mom said to keep it down!"  Bakugo and Terra looked to eachother before sitting down quietly without another word.  No one broke Kacchan's mom's rules.

Bakugo watched his younger self, the corners of his mouth turning up slightly.  He remembered this scenario too.

Without looking at the other boy,  Todoroki spoke to him, "This is how  she sees you and Midoriya isnt it? She doesn't get how hostile you are with him when she's not around."

"Mind your own business Icy-hot," Bakugo snapped in a warning tone.

"Let's keep moving," Aizawa said in a bored tone. "Watch for the memories to turn bad.  There could be more villains around."  He grabbed the bedroom door and pulled it open to reveal a whole new scene.

They stepped through the doorway and into a cliff edge made of dark stone. Surrounding them was a dark blue night sky entirely lit up by stars.

"This is incredible," Todoroki breathed with the tiniest amount of awe in his monotone voice.

"What the hell is that?" Bakugo asked as they approached the only structure on the cliffside. The stone reached up to form an archway and large stone doors.  Wrapped around the door was a gold chain that emitted a soft glow. Holding the chain was a similar gold glowing lock that had an eye etched into it. Covering the lock and chain were nicks and scratches. The door itself had large gashes in the stone.  Clearly something had been trying to break in.

"That," Calderon said in his robotic voice, "Is a dream door. Beyond it lies a memory, and from the looks of it, a very dangerous one. The chains around it were placed by th Mind Lock, the former memory wandering hero.  He's locked this one away so Ms. Rikuto cant remember what's beyond it."

"So beyond that door is a memory so terrible a Hero had to lock it away?" Todoroki asked.

"If there was a hero with that kind of quirk, why didnt he use it to block off the memory of the attack at her school?" Bakugo asked.

"Because messing around with people's memories, or any part of their minds for that matter, is mostly experimental and highly dangerous," Aizawa informed him.  "If you noticed, Cal said 'former memory hero'.  There was an incident we're he locked off too many memories.  Then one broke open which caused all the locks to crumble.  Suddenly having all of that trauma back caused the woman to go insane.  He was stripped of his hero license for it."

Todorokilooked over the stone structure murmuring, "What memory was so terrible that Terra underwent an experimental procedure to lock away?"

"That's what I'm dying to find out!" A girl's voice giggled, drawing the attention of the others.  They looked over to a young teenaged girl made of entirely pastel colors, sitting atop a white and purple panda.  Her curly hair pulled into a ponytail was a soft pink, but the curls in the back were a rainbow of pastels. A soft yellow unicorn horn soaked up from her forehead. Her skin a light pastel purple.  Her hoodie, skirt, leggings and even shoes were all various pastel colors.  She gave the newcomers an adorable smile, but her pastel orange eyes were unsettling.

A cloud of mist swirled next to her and took the shape of a nearly identical girl, only this one had a few differences and a different color palette. While she had slightly earlier purple skin, the rest of her colors were blacks and grays with a few lines of colorful neon.  Instead of a single horn, she had two spiraling ram horns of a neon yellow color. Her neon orange eyes swept over the goup of heros.

"Warning!" Calderon said in an alert tone. "These two are very dangerous in this element!"

"Who are they? The darker one is one of the villains that we caught before.  She was thought to be quirkless," Aizawa aked the computer man.

"They have no known criminal records. Everything about them is sealed in medical files," Caldreon said,  his screen pulling up pictures of the girls along with some legal records that were mostly blamed out. "Their parents ran an institution for the mentally unwell. At one point a large number of of people that were nearing stability had a breakdown that caused them to become violently insane.  Reasons for it are entirely unknown, as those patients had never shown signs of being violent or having hallucinations before that point. These two were suspected to be the cause. With they're authority as medical professionals,  their parents had any information about their daughters works sealed away.  From what I can gather, it was estimated that one daughter could trick a persons brain into seeing and even feeling things while being wide awake, and the other daughter could cause anything to happen to people while they were asleep.   No one said prove this information however,  so the girls were never tried for the incident and the hospital shut down."

"That's just great," Aizawa grumbled.

The darker sister looked up to the pastel one on the panda and said,  "They've seen our faces, Daydream. Take care of them. I'll go help Priscilla with the other one."

"Leave it to me Nightmare!" the pink haired sister giggled.  As Nightmare disappeared Daydream looked to thw heros and said, "Just killing you off the bat would be no fun. Let's play a bit!"
