Sadness
~Aqua's Perspective~
Today was day... I don't know. But all I know was that there were 3 days left until the red moon eclipse arrives. It was the early evening and everyone was just relaxing and looking at the moon rise up.
I was cutting fruits in the kitchen with Rachel and Aika. In my mind I was excited, but in my heart I was sad. All I could think about was Umiko leaving me after we complete our main purpose at Samiya. But I snapped out of it as Rachel was patting my cheek.
"Sis, are you okay?" Rachel asked me.
All I did was shook my head and soften my expression to her. "No. I'm not okay."
"Are you feeling sick? Do you need to lie down?" she asked as she touched my forehead.
"Well I'm not sick, I just feel... uneasy." I looked down as I slowly ate some watermelon.
"Hmm... Aika."
"Yeah Rachel?" Aika looked at her.
"Comfort my little sister. I need to get something." Rachel said as she took the fruit away to the boys.
"Okay." Aika said as she hugged me.
I hugged Aika back, knowing that this would be a good time to cry on her. "Aika... I-I..." I sniffled and gripped the back of her shirt.
"Shh, say no more. And it's okay to cry big sis. I'm here now." Aika hugged me more closer to her.
I sniffled and started to cry on Aika's shoulder. I've never cried this much for a very long time ever since the Moonstone Island massacre. After what felt like a decade of tears, I was starting to feel a bit better.
"Here sis." Aika said as she gave me a box of tissues.
I sniffled as I took a few tissues out of there. "Thanks sis." I said as I blew my nose into the tissue, getting the mucus out of there.
"It's okay sis. Calm down." Aika rubbed your shoulders. "Whenever you're ready. You can tell me or Rachel. Okay?"
"Okay sis." I sniffled again and ate some grapes. A few minutes later, I was sitting on the deck with everyone and told them how I truly feel.
I told them about our journey coming to an end and Umiko leaving me because of what I read in the research book a bit further.
"So that's why you're upset, you don't want to lose Umi?" Mikey asked me.
"Yes. I don't ever want to be separated from her. She's family to us dearly. And I want her to stay."
Leo sighed and took my hands. "I knew this day would come for the both of us. When our little girl was to grow up and to leave us?"
"Yes." I nodded.
"I understand how you feel. Heck, it that was my fear, I would cry too." Mikey said.
"Mine too." April said. "But if it is the only way for Umiko to be home, then we can't change that."
"We just met the little gal and she's leaving us? This stinks." Casey grunted.
"I agree." Raph said.
"Guys. Think about this. Once we're done with our mission here and Umiko leaves with us, who would protect the Samiya and the Sea Crown?" Donnie said.
I bit my lip, thinking that Donnie was right. I would have no choice but to let Umiko leave us. "Maybe you're right Donnie. If it's the only way to save the ocean, then that's what we must do." I said.
"Alright. So first thing on the night of the moon eclipse, we must be prepared for Samiya. Do I make myself clear?" Leo said sternly to everybody.
"Yeah." they all agreed.
"Good." Leo looked at me. "And babe, don't get too stressed out about this. It's not good for you. And this is the only way we'll be alright and that Umiko will be safe."
"Really?"
"Really. Do you trust me?"
I thought about everything that was going to happen for the next 3 days. I know it wasn't going to be easy, but it's the only way to help Umiko and the Sea Temple. I nodded my head. "Yes, I trust you babe. To my fullest potential."
"That's my girl." Leo smiled. "Now you get some rest okay?"
"Okay Leo." I smiled a bit as he walked me to our room door.
"I'll be right back babe." he said as he kissed my cheek and closed the door.
As I was starting to close my eyes, a knock was at my door. "Oh. C-Come in."
"Hey sis." Rachel smiled a bit. "You're in bed already? It's still early." Rachel smiled a bit and she had her arms behind her back.
"I know it is." I said softly.
"Why are you whispering?" she asked me as she sat at the edge of my bed.
"Well... it's about what's gonna happen." I said as I started to explain to her. After that, I hugged my pillow.
"Oh yeah... I guess you figured it out." Rachel said. "I'm sorry sis."
"No. It's not your fault. I guess that's why they call it that law of the sea?"
"Yes." she nodded. "But at least you wouldn't mind if I gave you something?"
"Huh? What is it?"
"Turn around and I'll put it on."
I nodded my head and turned my back towards her. As I was closing my eyes, I heard something being put around my neck. It felt a bit cold on my chest but I didn't mind it too much. "Can I look now?"
"Yes you may."
I opened my eyes and looked down to see a beautiful turquoise necklace. "Whoa... this is beautiful."
"Mmm hmm." she nodded. "This is the special crystal mark for the People of the Water."
"People of the Water? You mean that organization? I thought they died off."
"They did."
"So how did you get this?"
"It was a gift from someone. And I don't really like water. I thought you would have it."
I smiled. "Thanks sis. I love it." I said as I hug her.
She hugged back. "You're welcome sis. We're gonna be alright. Alright?"
"Alright." I said as I kept hugging her. Knowing that I was gonna be okay and that everyone else is gonna be okay as well.
