~At the docks in Middy's Perspective~

The 4 of us ended up in a cage. I looked at my mom, my dad, and my poor injured secret love. I couldn't believe it, the enemy was going to throw us into the bottom of the river with a school full of hungry bull sharks underneath our cage we were locked up in.

(The cage)

"Guys, I'm really sorry I failed you all..." Mom looked down.

"It's okay my love. You had to say we give up. You've saved our entire family from getting hurt or killed. Even our children would be proud of us." Leo said.

"Yeah mom." I said as I looked at my dear secret love. I used up my strength to cut the ropes and try to pull out the golden Sakura flower that Aika gave me while wincing in pain.

"N-No M-Middy... the f-flower w-won't w-work n-no t-that I-I'm h-hurt..." Aika said as she crawled up to me and was about to put her pink glowing hand on my wound, but I avoided it.

"No Aika... the moon is there... y-you should heal and s-swim up to freedom... I-I'll just die here... I risked my l-life for you in a foolish way..."

"N-No M-Middy..." she said as she healed me. But the wound I had appeared on her and she laid limp on the floor.

"Aika! AIKA!" I yelled her name and held onto her.

"It is time for you all to die. Any last words before you become dinner to the local bull sharks?" FishFace smirked as he was ready to pull the lever.

(Bull sharks)

Mom growled. "I want you to set my family free. Let the sharks kill me instead."

"Oh I'm sorry, there's no time left for you all." Fishface smirked as he pulled the lever and the cage we were in was sinking. "Sayonara, freaks." he said as he and the rest of the bad guys left us to die.

As the water was swallowing us, I took in a very deep breath and looked at Aika knowing that she won't make it. Then, I remembered what grandpa had spoke to me during my few weeks with him about sacrificing my life for the one I love dearly. So I leaned in and pressed my lips against Aika's lips so I could transfer all of my air to her. I started to grow very dizzy, knowing that my lifetime with everyone I know and love was coming to an end. 'Aika my love... be happy... and live a long life...' I said as I pulled away and closed my eyes as my breath was released.

~Aika's Perspective~

'Hmm... what is this that I'm feeling right now?' my thoughts said as I felt something warming up my body. I think someone might've done something to help me! The warmth made me transform into my mermaid form and all of my wounds were healed. As I looked who was in front of me, I gasped to see that Middy had given me all of his air. "Middy!" I said as I grabbed him and swam towards the surface and saw Aqua and Leo fighting off the bull sharks that wanted to eat us.

'Hold on Middy! Please! I love you!' my thought spoke out as I broke through the surface and swam towards the shore. I laid Middy on his shell and breathed heavily due to the swimming. "Middy?"

I pressed my ear against his chest to see if he was breathing, and he wasn't. "Oh god!" I said as I started to perform CPR on him. As I kept performing CPR on him, my heart was cracking. "C-Come on M-Middy... don't l-leave me." I said as I started to do the mouth to mouth contact. "Come on!" I said as I pressed his plastron more. "Middy please!" I said as I was on the verge to crying.

Just then, Middy started coughing up all the water that was in his lungs. I sighed out and tears were rolling down my cheeks. 'Thank god he's okay.' my thoughts were flooded with relief.

As Middy sat up and breathing, I sat in front of him and placed my hands on my cheeks. "Middy."

"Aika. Thank god that you're alive." he smiled as tears were running down his cheeks.

"I'm glad that I am. Thanks to you."

"So you returned the favor after I saved your life." he smiled.

"Yes." I smiled back at him as I looked into his eyes. I got lost into his blue eyes once more and then I started to lean in. 'I-I can't believe I'm doing this! Oh my god!!' my thoughts said as I closed my eyes and pressed my lips against Middy's lips.

As I was kissing Middy with passion, my heart was pounding through my chest as if it wants to bury out of my body. 'Oh my god, I'm kissing him! I never want this kiss to end!' my thoughts said in excitement. But sadly I had to pull back and get air into my lungs.

As I was breathing, I saw Middy laying back down on his shell. He smiled and laid my head on his plastron which made me blush a bit red.

"Listen to my plastron." he said softly.

I closed my eyes and pressed my ear against his plastron, listening to the pounding of his heart which made me go into a sleep spell. "It sounds really nice..." I said tiredly.

Middy chuckled. "Ready to go home my queen?"

"Yeah..."

"Okay. Sit up."

I sat up and saw him standing up. Then he bends down to me and placed his hands under me, picking me up like a princess. I held onto him and looked at his amazing smile. "I love you." I smiled.

"I love you too. And I always will love you until my last breath." he said as he nuzzled me and I purred. "Okay princess. Let's go home." he said as he started walking home with me in his arms.

As he was walking home, I looked up to him tiredly and yawned. Then I fell asleep due to his heartbeat and the movement of him cradling me like a baby. As I slept, I was dreaming that Middy cuddling me forever and ever.
