(All of these will be from the turtles' P.O.V.)

"Y/N!" I cried out as I tried to run to the love of my life. I was knocked aside by the Shredder, robbing me of my chance to reach her, in chains at the foot of his throne.

"Leo!" She sobbed, trying to reach toward me despite her binds, her aura glowing bright blue as she lifted Shredder off the ground and away from me, hurling him to the ground. I was on my feet in an instant, but my body wouldn't move. I watched in horror as Shredder stood, a menacing mountain of terror compared to my girlfriend, and stalked over to Y/N.

I stood by helplessly, unable to move, as he grabbed her roughly and forced her to the ground. I screamed her name until my throat was ragged, tears staining my face as Shredder unsheathed his blades.

"This, Hamato Leonardo," He boomed, "Is the price you pay for daring to oppose me."

And with that, he thrust his knives into Y/N's side. She gasped as the breath left her, the color draining from her face as she gazed at me. I let out a scream, and suddenly I was able to move again. I raced as fast as I could, catching her and staring into her eyes, watching the light slowly leave them. She reached a shaky, bloodied up to rest on my cheek, whispering, "I love you, Leonardo..."

And then she was gone. And there was nothing but Shredder's evil laugh to fill the silence.

I bolted upright in my bed, my breath coming in short and labored bouts. I wiped away the tears that stung my eyes, sniffling as I looked over at Y/N, wrapped up in a blanket, snoozing peacefully, her beanie slightly askew on her head.

She opened those e/c eyes that I loved, those eyes I'd thought I might never see again before I woke up, and her serene look turned into a concerned one.

"Leo?" She sat up, placing her hand on my shoulder, "What's wrong?"

I pulled her into a hug, kissing her and ignoring my tears as I murmured, "I'm never letting anything happen to you. I promise, nothing will ever hurt you, Y/N."

She hugged me back lovingly, whispering, "I love you, Leo. But you don't have to protect me."

"Y/N," I caressed her cheek, "You're my one and only, and maybe it's selfish, but I am never ever going to stand by and watch you be hurt. It'd hurt too much if I lost you. I couldn't live with myself."

She smiled reassuringly, brushing away one last salty tear off my face. "If I lost you, it'd be the end of me as well. So, if you don't put yourself in danger, I'll have no reason to have to come protect you. Let's not put either of us at risk. Deal?"

I sighed, smiling weakly and nodding, "Deal."
