Found Out - Part 2

So. Getting the feeling I'm starting to lose reads... Well anyway, I'm beginning to brainstorm possible...marriage and baby scenarios...but other than that...I'm gonna continue with this idea!!

It was weird, not having to hide anymore.

The video of the Turtles, confirming every theory the humans had, spread like wildfire across the city. The news quickly got out to the rest of the nation, headlines blaring the announcement: MUTANTS DISCOVERED BENEATH CITY STREETS.

Not even a week had passed before the sewers were flooded with snoopy reporters, pinching their nostrils shut in disgust as they made their way to the location of the lair, which Angel hadn't hesitated to spill the beans on as well. Donnie and D/G dug up their own evidence on the pink-haired girl who'd ratted them out, informing the group that she was in fact a Purple Dragon, a favorite pupil of Hun. It was no surprise their secret was leaked so quickly.

When civilization finally discovered the abandoned subway tracks leading to the lair, the Turtles and their girlfriends, April, Casey, and Splinter were already waiting. Leo had insisted on not bringing weapons - these were innocent people, after all, not evil infiltrators.

But that wasn't the weird part.

The entire group caught their breaths as the captain of the NYPD appeared out of the crowd of reporters, two lab coat-clad scientists flanking him as they made their way to the front of the mob, directly in front of the mutants and their human allies.

Splinter stepped forward, calm and collected, despite the hammering hearts of each of the members of his family.

"We mean you all no harm," He stated to the dozens of newscameras and people, "We have protected this city for four years, and all we ask is that you leave our family in peace. We are not test subjects," He directed his voice to the two scientists, "And we believe we have just as many rights as you, citizens of New York City. So, if you are about to attempt to bring us out of our home to... experiment on us, study us... we will refuse."

"... Test subjects? Experiment? Study you?" The captain stepped forward, badge glinting in the faint light of the flashing lights from the photographers, "Mutants... and human allies... we aren't here to punish you. We're here to thank you! We've seen the footage - the Turtles are heroes! They've saved us from countless threats on the city. Why in the world would we repay you by making you our guinea pigs?"

"But...but don't you guys wanna experiment on us?" Mikey asked, confused as he squeezed M/G's hand.

One of the scientists adjusted her glasses and smiled. "It's true that we are curious about your creation - how you came to be what you are today - but we only want to ask a few questions. We have no intention of probing you with needles."

"No needles? Awesome!" M/G cried, excitement kicking in and causing her elated jumping-up-and-down to turn into a frenzied, high speed bounce.

"M/G! Don't!" L/G panicked, her nerves from the entire conversation making her own telekinesis kick in , half of the cameras - and people - beginning to float as she tried to calm her friend down.

"What the - what are you?" The captain's eyes widened as he took an uneasy step back.

R/G's temper flared.  "What are we? We're mutants, just like the Turtles! What, just because we don't look exactly like other mutants, and we have different abilities, now we're some sort of new species of freaks to you?! I won't stand for it!"

"R/G, stop!" Raph cried, helpless as R/G morphed into a lioness and growled menacingly at the crowd of reporters, making everyone jump back.

"Oh great. This is happening now? In front of all these people?" D/G mumbled to herself, "This is so embarrassing!"

"D/G, sweetheart, calm down," Donnie started.

"But now what will they think? Will they think you're all heroes, while your girlfriends are some sort of psychopath villain league? Will...gah!"

She hadn't realized her intangibility had turned on, as she sank waist deep into the subway tracks they were standing on.

"Umm...little help?" She whispered to her boyfriend, who facepalmed.

"Ok, not good," April gripped Casey's arm as her own panic began to set in, "C-Casey, you know what happens when I get u-upset, right?"

Casey gasped a little, grabbing hold of his girlfriend's shoulders and trying to ease her out of a near-meltdown.

"Everyone, CALM DOWN!" Leo shouted to the bustle of startled people and to the rest of his team. Silence filled the subway tunnel as Leonardo took a deep breath.

He turned to the captain first. "Yes, L/G, M/G, R/G, and D/G are mutants as well. Though, not entirely normal mutants. They have contributed to this city as much as we have, and have gone through twice as many losses. You understand they won't hurt you, right?"

The captain nodded slowly, eyeing each of the girls and the Turtles.

"Good. Now, M/G, please quit bouncing around like that. You're giving us all whiplash trying to watch you right now."

M/G slowly came to a stop, smiling sheepishly at the crowd and leaning against Mikey, "Sorry, Leo..."

"R/G? Calm down, these people don't want to hurt us. They're just curious," Leo spoke next.

R/G glared at Raph's brother with cold feline eyes before transforming back into her human form and taking her boyfriend's hand.

"Donatello? Help your girlfriend out of the floor, would you?" Leo turned to his purple clad brother.

"On it," Donnie responded as he managed to pull D/G back up to ground level, wrapping his arm around her waist like a prevention from her sinking again.

"And Love?" Leo turned to L/G, "Please stop making everyone levitate..."

"Huh? Oh, right." L/G waved her hand, making the floating reporters tumble back to the floor, before stepping closer and kissing his cheek in thanks.

Leo blushed, trying to hide it as he turned to the redhead. "April, you all good?"

She nodded, asCasey wrapped an arm around her shoulders.

"That was very impressive!" The captain suddenly stated, "Leo, was it?"

"Leonardo."

"Well, Leonardo, you're obviously the leader of this noble group. I commend you for being able to get your team to work together so well."

Leo blinked, unused to the praise. "Th...thank you, sir!"

"Whoa!" Mikey breathed in awe, he and M/G walking up and tapping the glass lenses of the cameras, "Look at these things! They've got a ton of buttons! What happens if we press that one?"

"Don't!" A nearby reporter objected as the couple played with the equipment.

"Wow! Real scientists!" Donnie cried happily, dragging D/G over to the clipboard-carriers of the mob, "I've waited so long to talk with someone of my intellect!"

"We've been awaiting a conversation with you as well, Donatello," One of them agreed with a grin, "According to our evidence... you're the genius of the group, correct?"

"Th-That's right! I'm the genius!" He said excitedly, turning to D/G, "Did you hear that? I'm the genius!!"

D/G giggled, "Yes, I heard, Donnie."

A fashionista-of-a-reporter, obviously one from a gossip magazine, sauntered up to Raphael, keeping up with her cameraman as best she could in her high heels and not even hesitating to say, "We've taken a poll recently that deemed you the most attractive turtle of your group. What do you have to say about that?"

"U-uh," Raph started, frowning at the microphone shoved in his face.

"He thinks that's all well and good, but unfortunately none of your estrogen-filled focus groups can have my boyfriend," R/G shoved the mic away, linking arms with Raph, "So back off."

"Jealous, much?" Raph whispered teasingly.

Splinter watched from afar as his sons mingled with the outside world for the first time, a smile pricking the corners of his lips, though a nagging thought in the back of his mind reminded him of the troubles soon to be uncovered with the new opportunities of fame.

"Dudes, check this out!" Mikey hollered as the rest of the team walked in, "We're on TV again!"

"Leonardo Hamato is being heralded as a hero," The news reporter exclaimed as a photo of the blue clad turtle and L/G popped up, "And the NYPD are considering an award being offered for his and his team's brave acts."

"Cool!" Leo grinned, hugging his love close and munching on some popcorn.

"Michelangelo and M/G L/G are both favorites of the camera, socializing openly with our cameraman." A video appeared of Mikey and M/G toying with the buttons and gears of various pieces of equipment.

"WE'RE ON TV!!" Both of them cried out as they fangirled/fanboyed.

"Quit it, you're blocking our view!" Raph complained.

"Donatello is quickly being recognized as one of the most brilliant young minds of our time," The news anchor continued, flashing an image of D and D/G conversing with the two scientists from earlier.

"One of the most brilliant young minds," Donnie breathed incredulously, a dumbfounded smile on his face as his girlfriend kissed him with a tiny laugh.

"Raphael and R/G L/G are rising to the top of People Magazine's Top Celebrity Couples."

"...celebrities?" They both asked at the same time, as a photo of a magazine cover with their faces slapped on the front appeared, "We're celebrities?"

"We all are now!" D/G exclaimed.

"Aww, like Angelina and Brad!" M/G smiled, "If Angelina were as drop-dead gorgeous and Brad was an uncontrollable walking anger issue."

"Thanks, M/G," R/G smiled.

"Hey!" Raph protested.

"April O'Neil has been offered a job with Matthew Winters, to study the mind and discover the secrets of the Kraang, while her boyfriend, Casey Jones, has been offered a spot on New York's best hockey team, and Hamato Yoshi is being called the most incredible martial artist in history," Ms. Snazzy-Glasses beamed.

"Woo hoo! Go Sensei!" Everyone cheered.

"Dang, April and Casey got lucky! Job offers and hockey teams?" L/G reflected.

"I'd say our own benefits make us just as lucky," Leo countered as he kissed her forehead.

"The NYPD has ordered the location of the Turtles' lair remain a secret," The news anchor continued, "So that these Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles can continue their job of fighting crime in New York City."

"...Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?" Mikey repeated slowly, "Huh. I like it!"

"This is great!" Donnie put in, "No more having to hide. No more being limited to the shadows!"

"We have to remember our jobs, guys," L/G murmured, "We still need to protect the city."

"Oh, c'mon L/G, lighten up!" Raph argued, "We're not only allowed out - we're famous!"

"Yeah!" M/G shouted, jumping to her feet, "And I give that a big, fat...BOOYAKASHA!!!"
