Chapter 12: Monster Sighting Witnesses

As the day continued, the statue generals continued on their mission to get all the monsters they needed to return. They collected 10 out of the 13.

Finally, April and Casey were in their apartment while the news was going on. Casey was on the couch, reading the newspaper, as April was training with a wooden katana.

"Witnesses say there are holes in the floors as if something or someone had just blasted straight down through them, leaving authorities scratching their heads," the reporter replied, making April stop her training.

"Well, at least some people care about justice these days," Casey sighed, reading an article about the Night Watcher.

Raph had told Jamie to wait on the roof while he got Casey.

"Hey, Casey," Raph called.

"Raph?" Casey said, lowering his paper.

"Meet me on the roof, okay?" Raph remarked.

"What is it?" Casey wondered.

"The roof. You know what the roof is, don't you?" Raph asked.

"Pushy sidekick," Casey mumbled and they climbed up the fire escape while April kept watching the news.

"We've gotten this image in from an amateur cameraman, and I do stress 'amateur'," the reporter continued, showing a piece of footage that showed one of the four generals.

"Casey, come look at this," April said.

There was no answer, so when she turned around and saw him not there, she walked to the window.

"Be safe," she whispered.

Casey got up there after Raph, grabbed his mask and bat, then noticed Jamie.

"Uh, I'm not trying to sound mean, but what's she doing here?" Casey asked.

"Splinter's been training her, so I thought she could tag along so I could see how she's been doing," Raph answered.

"Well, good to see you again," he smiled.

"Ditto," she responded, doing the same.

"So, what's this all about?" Casey asked.

"We got bigger things to worry about tonight than criminals," Raph explained.

"Like what?" Casey wondered.

That's when a gargoyle-looking monster flew above them and screeched into the night.

"Like that," Jamie answered.

"Whoa," Casey exclaimed.

"Come on," Raph said.

They ran after it, jumping rooftops as they kept going. Once it was no where in sight, they stopped at the edge of a roof.

"I think we lost it," Jamie remarked.

"It's gotta be around here somewhere," Raph pointed out.

"I don't think so," Casey disagreed.

They all squatted on the edge until out of no where, the gargoyle flew up, making them all jump. It was tied up around its feet and darts were being fired at it. As it was being pulled down, it grabbed the ledge, leaving some cracked concrete then it hit the abandoned car below.

"What's going on, guys?" Casey asked.

"Did I mention we ran into a monster last night?" Raph mentioned.

"No, you kind of failed to tell me about that one, buddy," Casey responded then added, "You do know I only have a wooden bat, don't you?"

That's when they noticed the Foot were the ones who shot the darts and tied up the monster.

"The Foot? I thought they were history," Casey commented, shocked.

"Well, apparently not," Jamie said.

After the Foot attempted to tie down the gargoyle, that's when the generals approached them.

"And now we got walking statues? You got a plan for those?" Casey asked, panicked.

"Yeah. Hey, those are a first for me too," Raph admitted.

"Same here," Jamie chimed in.

"And who knows? These guys might be friendly," Raph pointed out.

Then the biggest of the generals, Mono, grabbed a dumpster and slammed it on top of the creature.

"Friendly," Casey chuckled nervously.

"Ain't no way," Jamie added.

They started to load up the monster in their dump truck.

"Wait a second. Those statues look-" Casey started to say until he accidentally knocked over some of the concrete ledge.

It landed on the damaged car and the generals and Foot turned to see what caused it. They looked up to see Raph, Jamie, and Casey.

"Witnesses," the general with a leopard cloak on, Gato, growled.

The Foot started firing the tranquilizer darts at them. One sailed towards Jamie without her knowing.

"Watch out!" Raph yelled, moving her out of the way and it hitting his arm.

"Raph!" Jamie exclaimed.

The generals even threw what looked like South American ninja stars. One hit Raph's shell and stuck there while another got Jamie in the arm, which made her cry in pain and it got stuck in her arm.

"Jamie," Raph mumbled, groaned, then replied, "I don't feel so good."

That's when Gato snarled like a leopard and climbed the side of the building where they were.

"That can't be good," Casey commented.

Raph threw a smoke pellet down and grabbed Jamie while Casey coughed.

"That's just rude," he said.

When it cleared, he saw them already heading out. He looked down, gasped, and ran after them.

"Hey, wait up," he called.

It didn't take long for him to do so since Raph grabbed him and brought him over, making him lose his mask in the process.

"What, you never heard of smoke pellets?" Raph snapped.

"Seriously? I haven't known them as long and I knew that," Jamie chuckled weakly.

"Well, one of you warn me next time. I got allergies," he coughed.

They hid in a storage-type room as the general followed and crushed the hockey mask.

"Come on. That's the second mask this week. They'll never find us in here," Casey complained then assured.

Raph started feeling groggy. Jamie noticed and made her way over to him.

"Stay with me, now. We'll be out of here soon," Casey promised.

"You're gonna be okay," Jamie added, cupping Raph's face.

He smiled, which she returned. Before anything else could happen, Gato started smashing the door in. They kept trying to keep him out the best they could.

"And I thought Girl Scouts were pushy!" Casey yelled.

"Well, you clearly haven't met my sister!" Jamie responded, still struggling to keep the door shut.

It got harder and harder to do so as he formed a hole in the door.

"Some people just can't take a hint," Casey said.

Before Gato could do any more damage, a helicopter flew above them.

"This is the police. You on the roof, put your hands behind your- What is that? Tommy, you see this?" a police officer said through a megaphone.

That's when Raph passed out from the tranquilizer dart. The general ran away and Casey looked out to see if the coast was clear.

"Yeah, you better run," he smirked, sighed, then added, "I gotta hand it to you guys, you sure know how to show a lady a good time."

Jamie turned around and the color drained from her face a little. She knelt down and let Raph's head rest in her lap as she cupped his face.

"Casey, Raph's out cold," she said.

"Oh, no. We gotta get you someplace safe, pal," he said to Raph's unconscious form then asked Jamie, "Are you able to help me carry Raph?"

"Yeah, just not with my left arm," she answered, pointing to the arm with the ninja star from the generals still lodged in.

He nodded, opened the door, and they carried Raph back to the apartment.
