Taehyung jumped back on his bed and closed his eyes. All the weight spread to his arms and legs, feeling like he was sinking into the mattress.

Nothing seemed to make sense anymore with all the chaos going on with school, the murder, and—Jungkook.

He debated whether he should go to the party, but then he thought, "what's the point when I would probably just end up going anyway?"

But was it even a good idea to consume alcohol at a state like this? Would he end up blacking out as usual or would he take it a step too far? He knew he was reckless when it came to drinking. It was either he got shit-faced drunk, or stayed completely sober. There was absolutely no in-between when it came to Kim Taehyung.

Well, at least that's what all the students at school expected of him.

Truth be told, Taehyung wasn't always the heartless 'bully' in school who stood at the top of the pyramid.

He got along with other students and teachers in class and worked hard in school to make his parents proud. He even participated in student council activities as well as weekly volunteering at senior homes on the weekends. He was a noble student.

He was good.

It wasn't until there was a fallout between Taehyung's parents that everything started rolling downhill. It was the time when Taehyungs mother turned her back against him and his father suddenly became the harsh father he was today.

His parents gave him no explanation when his mother cut ties with his family. She left without a word. It happened all so quickly that Taehyung had no time to process the situation.

Ever since then, Mr. Kim acted hostile around his own son, as if it was Taehyung's fault that his mother had left them.

But who knows, it may have been something to do with him.

Taehyung felt frustrated. His anger slowly started building up when Mr. Kim demanded more of him every single day.

So one day he got enough of all the shit he was put under and decided to lash out.

That was the first time he started drinking every weekend, getting high and wasted with the low-life kids. It felt great at first, but now it wasn't enough. Nothing really satisfied his needs anymore. And that was how he became the irresponsible, careless boy he was.

Plus now that Jungkook had come along, it became a cherry on top.

Ting!

He looked over at his phone and saw that Jimin had texted the location of the party.

Jimin: Yuna's house is on xx-xxx street! Better see you there because I already told like 6 girls you're coming tonight!

Jimin: haha- don't kill me

Taehyung rolled his eyes at the text.

How annoying.

He lifted his body off the bed with his arm and walked over to the closet. He was picking out what shirt he was going to wear when he heard a knock on the door.

"Come in."

It was his father entering with the usual stern look on his face.

"Father." Taehyung clears his throat and looks at him surprised, knowing that Mr. Kim usually never visited his room.

"Do you only know how to disappoint me?" He said suddenly, walking over to his son.

"What are you talking about—"

His father slapped him across the boys' face making him topple over.
"Don't act like you don't know. Bullying Jungkook? And beating him in front of the class and your teachers? How much of a fucking embarrassment can you be?!" His father yelled with hard staring eyes scaring the boy beneath him.

Taehyung's eyes widened as he held his reddened cheeks.
"I-I didn't know who he was at the time. He was pretending to be someone else I—"

"You never fucking listen to a single word I say, do you? The one time I tell you to do things you fuck it up and now you've fucked up my entire contract with the Jeon enterprises." Mr. Kim shouted venomously. His fists were clenched to the point his knuckles turned white.

"I-I'm sorry." he said faintly, trying to hold in his tears.

It was all Taehyung could say.

"I've learned to expect nothing from you starting now." Mr. Kim said before leaving the room, banging the door shut.

He probably wanted to give Taehyung another hard slap in the face.

Taehyung sat on the floor, his eyes starting to fill with tears. He clenched his jaw as he tried to ignore the stinging pain and the words he was thrown at him from his father.

Fucking Jeon Jungkook. That fucking prick.

Taehyung arrived at the party by himself around 10, with a bottle of gin he had already taken a shot from. He had one of his drivers drop him off at the house as usual.

The house was already overflowing with people and loud music that it seemed impossible to get in, but he managed to clear the path when others realized it was the Kim Taehyung making his way in.

"Taehyung! Man, it's been so long since I've seen you around!" An arm wrapped around the boys neck almost choking him. It was Jin, a friend he met outside of school who also conveniently happened to deal with drugs.

"Fuck off Jin. You saw me two weeks ago." Taehyung answered trying to escape the olders heavy arms.

"Woah, what's with the temper starboy? Is it that time of the month again?" Jin chuckled taking a drink from his red solo cup. He reeked of rum, Taehyung's least favourite drink.

"Just fuck off. I'm not trying to do shit tonight." Taehyung raised his voice.

"Let me guess, you're gonna take your usual three shots of hard liquor and sit down on that couch over there until a pretty girl approaches you and invites you to fuck her. Am I wrong?" Jin provoked.

"Wrong, I'm only getting wasted tonight. Alone. Told you, I ain't doing shit today."

"Well, let me at least provide you with these—" Jin sneered, taking out a small packet of blue candies. "they make you feel as if you're in control of the whole crowd baby. You'll get high as fuck no one else can reach the clouds you're about to reach."

Taehyung looked at the pack of candies and bit the insides of his cheek. He was tempted. He has tried almost everything Jin has offered him and Taehyung must admit, he loved getting high. But tonight, he knew it would be just bad trips.

"Sorry, not tonight. Hit me up another time." Taehyung rejected, pushing Jin's hand away before making his way over to the kitchen.

The kitchen was only filled with three others who seemed to not notice the presence of Taehyung. The boy chugged the rest of his gin before moving onto whatever liquor was offered at the table. He found a pretty lime-coloured bottle that he has never seen before and decided to test it out.

As he took a long swig he felt a keen burn that left a bitter yet sweet flavour on his tongue. He didn't mind the taste but it wasn't anything different from what he's had before.

It didn't take too long for him to get frenzy and the music to muffle in his ear.
He had already cleared stage 3 of his blackout routine.

He leaned on the counter as he saw Jimin and Yoongi make their way over to him.

"Look who it is!" A smiley Jimin greeted the other with a handshake.
"Didn't think you'd make it."

"Well guess who forced me here?" Taehyung snickered crossing his arms.

"Aw, don't talk as if you didn't want to be here. We all know you love to get fucked." Jimin replied with a chuckle.

"Yeah, just not tonight."

"Why don't you go home then? You seem like a party pooper anyway." Said Yoongi in a blunt tone.

Taehyung scoffed as he eyed the other.
"Sorry is there a problem?"

"Nope, you're just ruining my mood."

"The fuck are you trying to—"

"Okay! Guys that's enough, I think we're all just trying to have fun right?" Jimin cut in, pressing hands on both of his friends' chest.

Taehyung gripped on his bottle.
Who the fuck does he think he is?

"Anyway, have you noticed that every girl has been eyeing you ever since you came in? Like Jesus Taehyung, share me some of whatever you have." Jimin raised a brow, changing the topic.

"Jimin, you could probably get any girl too if you tried." Said Yoongi sipping his drink.

"Trust me, even if I tried girls would just friend-zone me on spot."

Taehyung zoned out, his thought slowly spinning and mushing together. He felt as if he was swaying side to side even though he wasn't moving at all. He loved that feeling.

"Taehyung? We're gonna go play cards with Namjoon wanna come?" Jimin asked, making Taehyung snap out of his mind.

"I'm good. You guys go."

The other boy frowned. "Are you sure you're okay? You're usually not like-this."

Taehyung sighed as his expression dulled. "I'm just tired from everything that's been happening. I'll be fine."

"Okay. I'll see you around? Oh, and one more thing. Jungkook is here too in case you didn't know." He informed.

Taehyung furrowed his brows.
"Where?" his tone lowered.

"Over there," his friend pointed behind him. "Playing beer pong."

That son of a bitch.

Taehyung stormed past the two boys and headed straight for Jungkook who had just scored another ball in the cup.

He was cheering with the others on his team when Taehyung abruptly grabbed the younger by the collar of his white shirt making Jungkook lose a grip on the ball he was holding.

"Did you really think it was a good idea to tattletale on me like that? Huh?" Taehyung gritted his teeth, glaring at the other.

"And what the fuck do you think you're talking about?" Jungkook scoffed raising a brow.

"Don't act stupid Jungkook I know you told my father."

"Do you usually lash out like this?" The younger mocked, making Taehyung even more enraged.

Taehyung threw a bold punch at Jungkook, making him stumble towards the wall.

The others around him took a sudden step back, in fear of Taehyung's anger.

"You really..." Jungkook chuckled wiping the blood off of a small cut on his lip. "like physical violence."

"Know your place you son of a bitch." Taehyung hissed, looking down at the younger as if he was reclaiming his position. "Just because your old man has a little more power over mine doesn't mean you can control me too."

Jungkook took a slow look at Taehyung who seemed fully heated and highly intoxicated.
"Really? After all that and you are still doubting me?"

"You seriously are a fucking—"

"What did I do Taehyung? Hmm? Tell me, what did I do?" Jungkook said mockingly, knowing the older was going to be even more annoyed. He stepped closer to Taehyung, now standing eye to eye.
"I don't think the things I've done to you, isn't much worse than the things you've done to me."

Taehyung could feel Jungkooks breath on him, and his round dark eyes suddenly making him feel powerless. The older gulped, not knowing how to respond. Where was the confidence alcohol gave him when he needed it the most?

"That doesn't give you an excuse for the fact that another student died because of you." Taehyung's mouth slipped, making him immediately regret it.

Taehyung thanked that the music was louder than their voices. No one near him probably heard their conversation unless they had yelled.

Suddenly, Jungkook grabbed Taehyung's wrist and dragged them out of the room into the nearest bathroom in the hallway.

"Hey what the fuck-!"

"Here. You can say everything and anything here. You literally almost exposed the entire fucking situation to the whole party asshole." Said Jungkook as he locked the door.

The bathroom was inconveniently small and the distance between the two boys was a foot part.

Taehyung pushed his back against the wall as he crossed his arms.
"Well you told on my fucking father too about me beating you up so are you happy? Are we even now?"

Jungkook scrunched his face in confusion but then proceeded to break into a laugh.
"This is what it's about? Really?" He said leaning back onto the sink. His blue veins appeared out of his defined forearms as he clenched the countertop.

Taehyung fisted his hands to throw another punch at him but Jungkook was quick enough to stop his arm.
"Cut me some slack, Taehyung. I never said anything to your father. Hell, I don't even have time to deal with your daddy issues."

The redness slowly crept up to his face in embarrassment.

Every word that came out of Jungkooks mouth pissed off the other.

"Well I don't fucking have time to play detective either." Taehyung replied shaking his hand off.

"You're the one who decided to stop cooperating with me so what is the problem?" The younger questioned.

"Because you're a fucking psychopath that is fine with looking at dead bodies and chasing after murders."

"The psychopath here isn't me Taehyung. It's the murder." Jungkook sighed rolling his eyes. "I'm doing this because I think there's some connection to my missing brother."

"I'm sorry, your brother? How in the world are those two related?" Taehyung scoffed at how ridiculous it sounded.

"Because my brother used to collect tarot cards. He would often read my cards when I was a kid. There is no coincidence that we're getting these at this school Taehyung." The younger explained suddenly making Taehyung think seriously.

"So you're telling me-"

"That my brother is behind this? I don't know. But it is possible that he may be alive."

"But then, why the killing? Why are students getting killed?"

"That's what we- well I," Jungkook corrected himself. "have been trying to figure out."

Taehyungs jaw tightened. "You know what, I've had enough of this today. I need another drink. No- I need the whole fucking bottle." He said reaching for the door handle before he was stopped by Jungkook once again.

"You should really calm down on the alcohol. It's getting to your head."

"No, I need you to calm the fuck down." Taehyung suddenly choked the others' throat with his hand. Jungkook's breath hitched as he felt the airway blocked, almost making him suffocate. The heavy breath of alcohol under the olders breath and the burning stare was all he could feel.

"I'm just trying to warn you-"

"Shut. The. Fuck. Up. Just watch your own back Jungkook. Who knows who that OSE bitch is going to kill next." He said before getting out of the bathroom, leaving the younger alone with a red hand mark on his throat.

Taehyung decided to leave the party as it ruined his entire mood once again.

He made a choice to walk home instead of calling his driver, as he swayed side to side almost tripping on the sidewalk.

He knew that no matter who he talked to it would just end up making him feel irritated by the fact that no one understood what he was going through. This was the first time he had left a party without blacking out or even getting laid. He knew he should have just stayed home, but as if that was any better.

I should've taken Jin's candies goddammit. Taehyung thought with regret.

When he had arrived home, he made sure that his father didn't see him and sneaked in from the garden. He passed by the hallways without getting seen by his maids and tiptoed trying not to squeak the floor. As he was about to pass by his fathers' office to get to his room, he suddenly stopped.

He peeked into the office to see if his father was there and stepped his foot inside. Taehyung had the sudden urge to steal something from him. This was just another method to vent his frustrations.

Taehyung eyed around the room for any small items that he could possibly take without his father noticing.

A book? A glass figurine? Perhaps a stapler?

He couldn't decide what to take. It made his adrenaline gush over him as he felt excitement over the fact that he was taking something from his father when it was always the other way around. It didn't matter what the object was, it was only the fun of stealing and knowing the thrill of potentially getting caught. Though he never did want to get caught.

Then his eyes landed on the desk where his father usually sat.

His fingers lightly hovered over the table, carefully deciding what to pick up. But underneath a pile of work papers, there was a small piece of card that Taehyung was awfully too familiar with.

A tarot card.

"Why does he have this?" he mumbled, his eyes narrowing.

Taehyung took the card in his hands and flipped it over to see a message written on it.

Be patient and you'll have your turn. Everyone knows to save the best for last. I'll make sure the truth will be set free. -OSE

Taehyung then understood that his father was OSE's main target.

And potentially him.

Before he could put anymore thoughts on it, he heard footsteps down the hall making him quickly place the card back under the papers and get out of the room without taking a single thing.
