It had been a few months since Winter disappeared. Nobody knew where she went. Don was extremely upset about it and didn't talk to anyone anymore. He would just wake up, go to work, go home and sleep. He was depressed and felt that he did something wrong. He tried to get out of his depression, but he couldn't seem to. Elsie had moved on a while ago, and just called him a loser anytime he asked about Winter.
Her phone was disconnected and he tried everything to reach her. But it was like she dropped off the face of the earth. Don sat at his table in his small apartment, he fiddled with his food as he stared blankly. He slowly looked up at the clock and realized he needed to get to work. He grumbled something under his breath, and stood as he left his untouched meal.
He stared at his reflection in the mirror with a glazed over expression. He didn't realize he cared about her so much. He also hadn't realized how neglectful he was to his apartment and self. His hair was long and almost to his shoulder, and he had a beard now. He blinked a couple times and sighed shakily. He honestly didn't care. The young man pulled his hair up and put it in a bun then grabbed his uniform. He went down to the repair shop and rubbed his face tiredly as he walked inside.
"Don! You're late again!" His boss shouted angrily. He glanced at him but didn't say anything.
He put his jumpsuit on then went to the garage. There was a car already waiting to be worked on. He shook his head and crawled under the propped up vehicle. He lay on his back as he stared at it blankly for a while.
"Stop being so love sick and get to work grease monkey." His boss growled lowly and kicked his boot. Don didn't say anything as he wrote Winters name in the filth on the car above him. He smiled sadly and slowly started the repairs.
A few minutes went by and he heard someone walk into the room. He could tell it wasn't anyone he knew. He waited then sighed in exasperation when the person didn't leave.
"If you want your car you'll have to wait...." he said in annoyance. He wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone.
"Are you Don Westwood?" A man asked not leaving.
"Who wants to know?" He scoffed and someone grabbed his platform then pulled him out from under the car. He blinked in surprise as he stared up at some men with strange masks.
"I heard you believe in alien robots, that have been spotted around the area." He said as he ignored his question. Don furrowed his brow and slowly sat up.
"Yes... I did at one time. But I've never seen them.... who wants to know?" He asked quietly. The man smirked a little and held his hand out to him.
"I'm Leland Bishop, but you can call me Silas." He said seriously. "I have a job opportunity for you young man." He smiled a little. Don hesitated then took his hand and they helped him up.
"What... kind of job?" He asked cautiously as the men stepped back. Silas put a hand on his shoulder, and they led him to a van waiting in the front.
"One that's far better than working on cars, and getting yelled at by your nasty boss." He said as he smiled kindly.
"You come help me with a few things, and I'll make it worth your while. I'll pay you a good amount of money as well." He said as he held up five hundred dollars. Don hesitated and reached for it.
"But that's only if you help me." Silas said as he pulled the money away. Don watched him then looked at the other men.
"Alright. I'll do it." He said, knowing his life was horrible at the moment. The leader smiled slightly as he handed him the money.
It was easy to manipulate someone who was an emotional mess. Don looked at him then smiled a little. Maybe he could have a fresh start in life and become something more.

McClellan stared blankly at nothing in particular as he listened to the children talk. He wasn't happy about what had happened with them recently. He felt bad as well.
They had gotten lost in the shadow zone, Jack almost died a few times, Miko was extremely reckless, and Raf just wanted to keep the peace. McClellan sighed forcefully as he watched them get into the cars to go home. He rubbed his face tiredly and slowly went into the office.
He stared at the files on his desk for each bot and child. He hated to send the reports but knew he had to. He sat at his desk and buried his face in his hands for a moment. He thought about how this would look and felt slightly depressed.
The agent looked around then opened his secret file with his keys. He pulled out a sandwich and started eating. He had a lot of different places he hid food in the office. He leaned back in his chair then put his feet on his desk. He didn't want to deal with this right now. He heard a tapping on the door and he jumped in surprise.
"I wasn't eating!" He shouted and put the sandwich away. He got up and opened the door then jumped again. He was staring at two giant optics, Optimus was staring at him, who looked at him with concern from the other side of the railing.
"Agent McClellan... you seem troubled." He said as he stepped back a little. The man sighed shakily and nodded as he walked over to the rail.
"Afraid so... As you know, Mr Optimus... I have to report everything to Agent Fowler and... the others. But due to recent events... and the..." he trailed off and glanced at Ratchet, who was still recovering from the synthetic energon. The bot was laying on the berth with a giant hole in his side. Thankfully he was finally sleeping.
"They feel... you and your team aren't... disciplined enough. Said I'm not doing a good job keeping you in check. So they are sending someone... to watch me... and your team." He explained.
Optimus stared at him blankly for a few minutes then looked to the medic. He didn't want that to happen. They had grown attached to the agent, including Ratchet. He was different from the others and a lot more pleasant to be around. He respected them and defended the bots whenever he could.
"Will... they... replace you?" Optimus asked hesitantly. McClellan stared at him then hung his head.
"If they feel the need to... yes... if they think I have failed here... yes..." he mumbled. They heard a car and he sadly looked to the entrance.
A black vehicle pulled up and another agent stepped out after the car turned off. He looked around with a critical eye then walked up to the other man. He glanced at Optimus and furrowed his brow then glared at the other agent.
"You've let the government's property run wild for too long." He said seriously. Optimus furrowed his optic ridges and looked between the two.
"Government... property?" He asked more to himself.
"Mr Optimus, don't listen-"
"Are you already defying what I said?" The man asked harshly. "You're lucky I don't just throw you out of here." He growled. McClellan didn't respond and looked at the floor. Optimus didn't like this man but kept that to himself.
"What is your designation or name?" The Autobot leader asked slowly. The man looked at him and frowned, but it was more like a glare.
"It's not important to you, but I suppose you need to know. My name is Agent LaCore." He said seriously. "And I'll probably be replacing McClellan here." He said harshly as the other agent clenched his fists tightly.
