The Corridor Of Elders
Nya tries to communicate with the others but fails.
"They're attacking Jamanakai Village. You have to stop them. All communication is cut." Nya sighs, trying aimlessly to contact the others. I huff angrily, pacing around the room.
"If our fighters don't know where to go, who's gonna stop my father?" Skylor asks, and I make my decision.
"I will. If none of the Elemental Masters are answering, I'm the only one who's here right now. I'll go." I don't wait for an answer, and jump off, summoning my dragon. I land in Jamanakai Village, staring at the destruction. Man this place has memories. Meeting Lloyd, when I was a kid, shopping here with Nya... Man.
"Onward my slithering soldiers!" Chen commands.
"Yeah, I don't think so," I smirk, standing up.
"Get her!" Chen yells, and two Anacondrai charged to meet me in battle. Huzzah. I quickly attack them, but then they slam me into a wall, and then the Roto Jet fires, making the wall fall on me.
"Well, that didn't go as planned. Stupid Anacondrai." A stabbing pain started in my head, and I groan slightly, before receiving the message: Meet us at the Samurai X Cave
Great. I shift out of the bricks, checking for any injuries. Not much, just a little head one where a brick fell on it. Should be an easy fix. I walk in the Samurai X Cave quite earlier, grumbling angrily.
"What's wrong?" Nya asks.
"Stupid Anacondrai. Fucking beat me up. If I can't do much, I don't think any one else can." I mutter.
"That's not good." Nya shakes her head.
"Thank goodness you got my message." Neuro smiles. More Elemental Masters come in the cave, as I help Sensei Wu find an area to head of Chen's army.
"What about the Corridor of Elders?" I ask Sensei, and he stroked his beard in concentration.
"So why were we asked here? We should be fighting snakes." Griffin asks.
"Because anyone can fight. Only one side can declare victory." Sensei says.
"In the time it took you to get here, Chen has taken over the entire Eastern seaboard and is moving inland. With each village destroyed, they grow stronger." Nya explains, the screen showing a lot of red dots than my liking.
"That's a lot of red. Karlof not like red." Karlof shakes his head.
"How are we supposed to stop them? Most of us have lost control of our Dragons, not to mention we're outnumbered ten to one." Gravis asks.
"Actually, 62.4 to one." Zane corrects.
"Not helping Zane." I sigh.
"Look, I'm scared like the rest of you. It may look like we've lost, but it's not over. When we thought we lost Zane, it nearly tore us apart. But we didn't quit. We let it fuel us. We grew stronger." Lloyd says. Actually, uh, we did get torn apart. Lies.
"There's hope. The Corridor of Elders." Sensei points to the map.
"Corridor of Elders?" Shade asks.
"I know we don't stand much of a chance taking on his entire army at once, but after he's controlled the East, he'll move West tomorrow and have to pass through Echo Canyons. Our best tactical position is to make our stand where it bottlenecks: here, at the Corridor of Elders, the monuments honoring our ancestors. It's the narrowest channel, but our greatest chance." Sensei explains.
"If we can't stop them here, the rest of Ninjago will fall like dominos." Garmadon replies.
"Karlof not like to lose. Karlof fueled!" Karlof yells.
"Then we have one day to save tomorrow." Sensei declares. Everyone starts cheers. The guys head to different locations to recruit the citizens. Soon, we all meet at the small pass. This can't go wrong... unless there's a huge statue that's going to fall on us!
"Huh. There's so many of them." Jay gasps.
"It's an army Jay, what did you expect." I exclaim dryly.
Lloyd marks the ground with his Energy powers. "We fight for each other. We fight as one." Everyone cheers.
"Hold the line." Lloyd yells.
"Charge!" Chen yells.
"Hold the line. Hold!" The Cultists fall through the hole. Haha, how'd did you like a taste of your own medicine Chen!
"Trapdoor? That's my signature move. Ugh, destroy them!" Chen yells.
"Now!" Lloyd yells, and Zane covers the hole with Ice.
"Lightning!" Jay shocks some of the Anacondrai.
"Fear? Fear isn't a word where I come from." Mother Doomsday fights off one of the Cultists with an Illumisword.
"Unh! Push them back!" Karlof yells.
"Not backwards, forwards! You're Anacondrai! Crush them!" Chen yells, and the Cultist charge, with new strength, pushing against us.
"I'm slipping!" Cole yells.
"Ugh. Don't let up." Kai grunts.
"Push!" Lloyd yells. Blade Copters take to the sky, and I fly up, standing on the ground above the others, and start destroying the ones over them, using the debris and Anacondrai from the last one I destroyed. Shade takes control of a Blade-Copter, shooting the Anacondrai underneath them. I throw the debris and groaning Anacondrai on the ground. Taking a second to get rid of my headache, I run along the edge to stop more Anacondrai from getting to the line.
The Bounty arrives, dropping the anchor on some vehicles. I jump down to meet the guys.
"Ninja, go!" We use Spinjitzu to push the Cultists from the line. Chen shoots down a statue.
"Watch out!" Karlof yells, and Gravis uses his Gravity powers to save us.
"We have to stop them!" Lloyd yells, as the Cultist push through the newly-made hole.
"We don't have enough people!" Kai groans.
"We can't hold them all!" Cole grunts. Lloyd starts going to the front lines, to stop any other Anacondrai from passing. He meets someone, and they both go on the Bounty. Wait, that's Pythor... and Clouse's spellbook. This can't be good. Lloyd jumps out from the Bounty, starting to annihilate the Cultists.
"What's gotten into Lloyd?" Zane asks.
"I don't know, but it's too late. We can't stop them now." Kai grunts.
"I'm going to talk to him." I decide, jumping up, and flying over toward him. "Lloyd. What's wrong?" I ask, and he ignores me, still destroying the Cultists.
"Nothing." He punches another.
"Don't nothing me. I'm your best friend and girlfriend. I know you. You're angry at something." I put my hands on my waist, staring him down.
"Pythor says the Anacondrai generals would banish Chen, and to do that, my dad has to curse himself." Lloyd finally spits out.
"Well, sometime's destiny's cruel, but you need to think about the future Lloyd. Even though I will hate to see your father go, it's for the best, and I think Garmadon would like to see his son before he goes." I explain, and his expression softens.
"I guess..." Lloyd starts, looking at the ship. "But it's probably to late." Lloyd shakes his head.
"It's never too late Lloyd." I embrace him, and he jumps up to the Bounty. Soon, a portal opens up, straight into the Cursed Realm. Garmadon starts screaming and moaning as he's being sent to the realm. Huge gusts of wind push by, and I have to anchor myself to the ground to avoid being pushed away.
I see Skylor, now a human again, watching Chen go in the portal along with every other Cultist. The generals go to the Bounty, but then enter another Realm. The portal closes. We meet up with everyone at the middle.
"Haha! You showed them!" Griffin cheers.
"You mean we showed them." I smile.
"Thanks for fighting with us." Cole says.
"Huh. Smarter than fighting against you." Karlof noogies Kai and Jay, and everyone laughs happily.
"Anytime you need your help, just holler." Jay says.
"Same goes for you. I imagine we all have homes and villages to get back to. Thank you, Ninja." Neuro smiles.
"Thank you, friend." Zane thanks, as ever the polite one. We leave them after exchanging a few laughs, saying goodbye to each other, and then I, the guys, Misako, and Sensei forms a circle around a campfire for Garmadon.
Sensei pours tea in our cups. "To the Anacondrai, the greatest warriors of their time." Kai raises his cup.
"Yeah. Now it's our turn to make our ancestors proud." Jay smiles.
"Because we're proud of those who were here before us to show us the way. Goodbye, Father." Lloyd says.
"His loss will affect us all." Sensei says.
"Not his loss, his life. He made us stronger, and he brought us together." Misako says.
"I am Lloyd Garmadon, son of Lord Garmadon." Lloyd starts.
"Student of Sensei Garmadon." Sensei Wu adds.
"He made me who I am today. He was my father. He was my adversary. But in the end, he was my friend." Lloyd smiles.
"Because of him," I start.
"We will live to see tomorrow." Zane finishes.
"And for every tomorrow, we'll live to honor him." Kai says. I throw the book in the fire, watching it burn slowly.
"And because of him, we'll be ready for whatever comes next." Jay vows.
"Skeletons, snakes, Nindroids, and Anacondrai wannabes. If they can't stop us, what can?" Cole smiles.
"That's for tomorrow to decide. Today, we say goodbye to a legend." Lloyd replies, as we stare at Garmadon's image being carved into the stone. A familiar gust of wind blows by, and I look up. Seeing nothing, I turn my head back.
