It was a bright and sunny day as we wee anice peaceful village where we see a young Haru at the family garden, meditation. He sat in front of a small Japanese shrine and only hears the birds chirping and leafs moving.

Haru's mother: Haru! Haru, your lunch is ready!

He opens his eyes and gets up and make his way over to the house. While walking her mother keeps calling him but the closer he gets he gets to the house, the further her mothers echos is calling.

He reach his hand over and opens it up to be met with a bright light while his mothers calls is suddenly replaced with Ghost's.

He snap back to reality within Ghost as Ghost calls out to him.

Ghost: Haru, Haru. Are you okay?

Haru: Yes my apologies. I was just thinking about something.

Ghost: We're approaching our location.

Haru: Understood.

We then see Alpha team arriving at what looks like an abandoned village. The houses looks burned, roads have holes and nature seem to be reclaiming it.

They arrive at the entrance of the village as Y/n turns to his team and informs them the simple mission.

Y/n: Okay team this one is a easy one. The general wishes to make a base here and since this is far from the city. This might be a perfect spot. But first, we need to clear everything out. Any questions?

Isabelle: With all due respect sir, why are we doing this? I'm sure Alpha team can do other things than clearing out of an abandoned base.

Bill: Why are you complaining? Just imagine the loot this place had! Maybe they have something cool here.

Y/n: If there is anything important here, then we'll take it.

Bill: Yes sir!

Y/n: Haru you all green?

Haru:...........

Y/n: Haru! You good?

Haru: Oh my apologies Sargent. Yes, I'm good.

Y/n: Okay, split off and let's begin clearing this place up.

They split off and they begin to clear the village up. They leap out of their titans and begin moving the stuffs outside so their titans will carry them and put them in a pile.

Bill find some good stuff during the clean up. Although off, it would be good for his trophy. Isabelle just sighs and then noticed Haru standing in front of a house which she came over to him and then stood next to him.

Isabelle: You okay? Whose house was this?

Haru:.....This was my home.

Isabelle: Oh.....I'm sorry. I didn't realise.

Haru: Your okay. Its just.....this village brings me back memories.

He make his way over to the gate and then he touches the gate door and then he pushes open and steps on through. A flashback shows Haru's father coming home and he and his mother greeting him with a hug.

It vanished to present day Haru as he stare in front of his rushed home and then he walks over and step inside to see everything a mess.

Everything was burned and there were large holes. He keeps walking and then step into the kitchen. Ghostly figures of his young self snd his parents sat around and they ate together exile chatting with smiles on their faces.

Haru then turn to his his father's study room and he open the door and is surprised. Way at the back hung over the wall which is above of his desk was his father's katana.

Disbite everything burned and destroyed, his father's sword still stands. He approaches the sword, stares at it for a moment and then he took it out and suspect the katana.

He then took it out and it was perfect. He looks at the still sharp and not rusted Katana. He stare at it for a moment and then he take it out of the garden and stood there for a moment.

He looks at the katana, starring at his own reflection on the blade. He then takes a deep breath in and then out. He begins swinging the Katana calmly while his eyes were shot.

While his eyes were shot he can hear the gunfire and screams of terror, see homes burned to the ground and Britannia forces attacking the village.

He sees himself being carried by his father with one of his legs blown off. His parents took Haru to The Alliance Goblin. They place their son on board and he sees his parents for the final time before tye doors of the Goblin Close and he was taking away from Earth to somewhere safe.

He then open his eyes and stare at the katana for a moment as he lower it near his face all awhile Isabelle was behind him.

Isabelle: Does that belong to your parents?

Haru:....It belong to my father. He once told me one day I will given this katana just like how his father was given.

Isabelle: It's a family tradition. I understand. Still I really am sorry for your lost.

Haru: We all lost people we care for from the Britannia Empire. But unlike most people of the Alliance.....I would never let vengeance blind me. Vengeance is a poison, a cancer that drives men and women to do unspeakable things for the sake of justice. Tell me something Isabelle....do you seek "justice"?

Isabelle: Yeah. If I have to be honest with you.....yes.

Haru: I can see it within everyone. They all wanted vengeance on Britannia for the evil things they have done. But I fear they will do something.....that will drive them to do unspeakable things.

Isabelle: Yeah.....but what else can we do?

Haru: Nothing. We couldn't do anything but watch and see how the outcomes. If they overcome their vengeance then there might be hope for them for the future. But if not.......I cannot think what future they may have.

Isabelle:.....Do you think Y/n will do something horrible? He seem to hate Britannia more.

Haru:.......It's unknown. Still......if he does go down to a dark path.....then we will help him to find his light. We are not just a team......we are a family.

Isabelle: (smile) Yeah. I guess we are. So are you gonna keep the katana?

Haru looks at his katana for a moment and then he place it onto his back.

Haru: I will not allow this blade to be found by those who is unworthy of it.

Isabelle: (smile) Good idea. Now come on, we got some cleaning to do.

Isabelle leaves ans Haru follows behind. Then there was a heavy blow and he turn and sees his parents looking back at him smiling. Haru turns to them as he then took off his helmet and tears came down from his cheeks.

His parents node to him and then they slowly vanished in front of him. Haru stood there for a moment and then he bow to them, puts on his helmet and then he helps out the rest on the cleaning.

(Sometime later)

They arrive back to base with a job well done and Haru, Bill and Isabelle heads to the cafeteria to get something to eat while Y/n make his report to Adam.

He walks down the hallway when suddenly he was gargbed by someone and pulled away. We then see him being thrown onto a bed and Y/n was about to pull out his weapon when C2 came up on top of Y/n and stare down qt him.

Y/n: C2? What are you doing?

C2 just stare at him for a moment while Y/n blushes for q moment, thinking she may do something but then she ask him.

C2: Tell me your encounter with Mao?

Y/n: (thought) You drag me here, thrown me onto the bed, came on top of me only to ask me about that mind reading creep?!

Y/n: Wait a minute? I've been trying to ask you about him but you were not around.

C2: Just tell me if he is Mao?

Y/n: Yes but now you need to tell me you two and what the hell is going on?

C2 stare back at him and then she sat on his lap and then goes on to explain.

C2: I gifted him his powers when he was six years old. However....the thoughts of people drove him insane. I abandon him because he was not able to fulfill his part of their contract.

Y/n: (shocked) So you left him alone with a power that makes him go insane?! What was even the contract?

C2: I can't say our contract but what is important he is looking for me. He maybe wants to kill me.

Y/n: And he won't stop until he does?

C2: Correct.

Y/n: Why couldn't you tell Zero about this?

C2:.......We had an argument and now I'm on my own. But I know he may go after you.

Y/n: So you came here just to protect me?

C2: No. I figure we can work together and put a end to him wants and for all.

Y/n: That would be hard since he can read minds. He can immediately know what we are up to by just reading our thoughts.

C2: Perhaps but if we don't end him, he might might something worse. Since he knows you as part of the Alliance, he may try to ruin the Alliance and will have Britannia to win the war.

Y/n: Shit, your right. What should we do?

C2: So you be willing to join me?

Y/n: If by means saving the Alliance and innocent lives. Then yeah.

C2: Very well then. First things first, we need to track him and once we know where he is. We can make a plan and take him down.

Y/n: Should we inform General Adam.

C2: No. This is between us. No one else.

Y/n: Fine but if General Adam ask me where I am, your explaining it.

C2: Very well. Come, let's go and find him.

With that the two gets ready to find Mao all awhile Zero hides around the corner and heard their conversation as he soon vanishes from sight.
