Natasha just hit her sixth month of her pregnancy. She already had a pretty big baby bumb, she barely fitted in her regular clothes anymore.

"Tony, you got a meeting in five." Natasha says as she barges into his office, then she saw a man standing in front of Tony's desk. "I'm sorry I'll come back later."

The man turned around and both of them became stunned. "Natasha?"

"Steve?" Natasha says

"You said something about a meeting? I'll leave you two." Tony says and left the office.

"I didn't mean to interrupt, you weren't on his schedule." Natasha says

"It's fine, we just went out for lunch." Steve says

"Oh, okay, well it was good to see you." Natasha says

"You too." Steve says, then he finally brought up the elephant in the room. "You're pregnant?"

"Umh, yes." Natasha says and placed a hand on her baby bumb.

"How far along are you?" Steve asks

"About six months." Natasha says

"Wauw, that's long." Steve says, "Is it... Is it mine?"

"I don't know." Natasha says

"Oh..." Steve says

"I'm sorry." Natasha says

"It's fine, really." Steve says, "Is there someone in your life?"

"No." Natasha says

"Is there any chance you would like to have dinner with me?" Steve asks

"I would like that." Natasha says, "These past few months all I could think about is seeing you again."

A couple tears left Natasha's eyes, she blames her hormones, but they both knew they missed each other.

"Hey, don't cry." Steve says and wiped away her tears.

"I'm so sorry, Steve. I messed up everything with your family and then I just left." Natasha says

"I'm sorry too, I dragged you into that, it's not your fault everything got messed up with my family." Steve says and pulled Natasha in for a hug.

After a long pause Natasha spoke up. "Pick me up at 6?"

"Yes." Steve says and kissed her head.

At 6 p.m. Natasha stood ready in her lobby waiting for Steve, she was wearing a cute short dress that showed off her baby bumb.

"Hi." Steve says

"Hi." Natasha says

"Ready to go?" Steve asks

"Yes." Natasha replied and grabbed Steve's hand.

Together they walked to a restaurant that wasn't far from her apartment. The restaurant was fancy and nicely decorated.

Steve pulled out Natasha's chair and helped her sit down. Steve sat across her and ordered their drinks.

"So..." Steve starts, "Do you know the gender yet?"

"No. I want to wait until the baby is born to know." Natasha says

"Okay. Do you need any help setting up a babyroom?" Steve asks

"Probably. I haven't even thought about a babyroom." Natasha says

"Nat, even if it's not my baby, I would still like to raise it with you. You're not alone in this." Steve says and grabbed her hand from across the table.

"Really?" Natasha asks

"It might not be my baby through blood, but I'll still love it. If you'll have me of course." Steve says

"I would like that." Natasha says, "And maybe we can go out more, not as friends."

"What do you mean?" Steve says

"I mean I want to date you without faking it." Natasha says

"Oh, well I would like that very much." Steve says and kissed Natasha's hand.

"Great." Natasha says, "And how would you feel about taking a paternity test?"

"I would do it." Steve says

"Good. I'll make an appointment with my doctor tomorrow." Natasha says

The next day Natasha and Steve sat in the office of Natasha's doctor. The doctor just took the paternity test and explained them when they would get the result.

"It should be in your mail sometime next week." Christine says

"And, umh, can you maybe tell us the gender of the baby?" Natasha asks

"Are you sure?" Steve asks

"Yes. I really want to decorate the babyroom right." Natasha says

"Of course." Christine says, "I will grab your file and be right back."

A while later Christine returned with the file and flipped it open.

"We should host a gender reveal party." Steve says

"Seriously? You don't even know if you're the father." Natasha says

"As I said before, I don't care about that. I just want to raise this cute baby with you." Steve says

"Well who would we even invite?" Natasha asks

"My family and yours, obviously some friends of ours." Steve says

"Okay, maybe it would be nice." Natasha says

"Great, we'll send the invites tomorrow." Steve says

"Slow down, we still have a party to plan." Natasha says, "And how are we revealing it?"

"Maybe a cake, or balloon, what about a confetti cannon?" Steve says

"I like the cake thing." Natasha says

"And then we only need balloons and other things, but Maria can take care of that." Steve says

"Did you tell her?" Natasha asks

"It kind of slipped." Steve says, "I'm sorry."

"It's fine, don't worry about it. People are about to find out anyway." Natasha says, "How about a party this Saturday?"

"Wonderful." Steve says

Natasha grabbed her mail from her mailbox downstairs and went back up. She looked through everything, commercial papers, bank statements and other junk, and then there was the envelope she's been waiting for, the test results.

She immediately called Steve and he arrived shortly after at her apartment.

"And? Did you open it?" Steve asks

"No." Natasha says, "Is it important to you?"

"Well, as I said I don't care." Steve says

"I'm scared that if I open it and it's Matt's that everything will change." Natasha says

"Then don't open it." Steve says

"Really?" Natasha asks

"We can always open it in the future, if you're scared then let's not do it right now." Steve says

"Okay." Natasha says

"So I also wanted to come because my family all told me they were coming." Steve says

"Oh, really?" Natasha says

"They wanted to give you a chance since this is actually happening." Steve says

"Right." Natasha says

"I also brought the decorations." Steve says

"That's amazing! They look great." Natasha says

"So what are you wearing tomorrow?" Steve says

"A cute light yellow dress." Natasha says

"That is very cute indeed. I bet you'll look great." Steve says and wrapped his arms around her waist.

Natasha looked in Steve's blue eyes and then she lowered her eyes to his lips. Steve leaned down and placed his lips on her. Their first real kiss, and it felt better than ever.
