It was 7am when Steve woke up from his sleep. He looked beside him in bed and laid his arm on the empty spot. Steve dragged himself out of bed and went into the shower.

After Steve packed all his belongings, he walked downstairs and grabbed a quick breakfast before hitting the road back to New York. He didn't bother to leave a note, he just walked out of the door without saying goodbye.

Two months later...

"Here is your paperwork, Tony." Natasha says as she put them down.

"Yeah, yeah, I can't work on that now since you forgot to reschedule my appointment with Banner." Tony says

"What? I forgot? I'm so sorry, Tony. I just haven't been feeling well and I had to throw up earlier, so that's when I forgot." Natasha says, "I can try to reschedule it now."

"Don't bother, he's already on his way." Tony says

"Damn it!" Natasha says

"Hey, hey, calm down, Red. It's not your fault." Tony says and got up to hug Natasha. "You should see a doctor if you're not feeling fine."

"No, I'm fine." Natasha says

"Are you on your period?" Tony asks

"Tony! And no, it's not until... until..." Natasha trailed off, "Maybe I should see a doctor."

"Great, so take the rest of the day off and get better soon." Tony says and pushed Natasha out of the door. He grabbed her purse from her desk and pushed it in her hands.

"Thanks." Natasha says

"Now, chop, chop, off you go." Tony says and waved her out of the area.

Natasha walked to the elevator and stepped inside. She pulled out her phone and called Pepper.

"Hi, are you busy? I need you." Natasha says

"I'm free." Pepper says, "Do you want to come over?"

"I'll be there in 10." Natasha says and hung up.

Ten minutes later Natasha sat on Pepper's couch with a cushion in her lap.

"So." Pepper starts

"So..." Natasha says

"What's up?" Pepper asks

"I might be pregnant." As soon as those words left Natasha's lips Pepper became stunned.

"What makes you think that?" Pepper asks

"I missed my period..." Natasha says

"That doesn't mean anything." Pepper says

"For two months." Natasha says

"Okay, well, that is bad." Pepper says, "Have you tested yet?"

"No." Natasha says

"Do you want to?" Pepper says

"I don't know, I wouldn't know what to do then." Natasha says

"We'll figure it out." Pepper says, "Just sit here, have a cookie and I'll get you a test."

"Thank you." Natasha says

Natasha waited impatiently as she sat on the couch waiting for Pepper. Once Pepper returned Natasha went to the bathroom and Pepper prepared some tea for the two of them.

Natasha exited the bathroom with the test in her hand, she put it on the table and sat back down on the couch.

"Here is some green tea." Pepper says and handed Natasha her tea.

"Thanks." Natasha says

"Do you know what you wanna do if it's positive?" Pepper says

"I'll probably keep it, I don't think I can give it away." Natasha says

"Understandable." Pepper says, "What about the father? Do you know who it is?"

"I don't really know, it's either Matt or..." Natasha says

"Steve?" Pepper asks

"Yeah." Natasha says

"Are you gonna take a test for that?" Pepper asks

"I really don't know. I mean, I really don't want it to be Matt's and I really can't come back into Steve's life." Natasha says

"Why not?" Pepper asks

"I ruined his relationship with his family, I don't want to cause more trouble." Natasha says

"So you're gonna hide the child?" Pepper asks

"I don't even know if I'm pregnant." Natasha says

"Well the minutes are over, do you want to look?" Pepper says

"Here we go." Natasha says and picked up the stick.

"Hi." Tony says as he entered the house.

"You're home!" Pepper says and got off the couch where Peter was watching a movie. "How was work?"

"Good." Tony says, "Hey, kid."

"Hi, dad." Peter says

"How was school?" Tony asks

"It was fine." Peter says

"You can tell me all about it during dinner!" Tony says

Tony and Pepper went into the kitchen and started on dinner.

"What are we making?" Tony asks

"Soup, so start cutting." Pepper says

Tony cut the vegetables for in the soup and opened the garbage bin for the pieces which weren't eatable. After he threw them out he saw a white stick in the garbage for plastic, he picked it up and looked at it.

"Pep." Tony says

"Yeah." Pepper says

"Why is there a positive pregnancy test in the garbage?" Tony asks

"Umh..." Pepper answers

"Are you pregnant?" Tony asks

"No, no, no, it's umh... Natasha's." Pepper says

"Natasha is pregnant?" Tony asks

"Yes." Pepper says

"Is it Steve's?" Tony asks

"She doesn't know." Pepper says

"Oh... Well did she see a doctor yet?" Tony asks

"We made an appointment for tomorrow." Pepper says

"Good." Tony says

"Can you go back to cutting? Peter is hungry." Pepper says

"Sure." Tony says while trying to process everything.

Natasha sat down in the waiting room at the hospital. She was bouncing her leg and looking around. Everywhere were photo's of babies and mothers. In the waiting room were woman who were already far along with their baby, and some who sat together with their partner.

"Miss Romanoff?" A doctor calls

"Yes." Natasha says and got up to follow the doctor.

"I'm doctor Christine Palmer and I will be the doctor for you and your baby." Christine says as she opened the door to a room. "Have a seat."

Natasha sat down and started to bounce her leg again.

"So the pregnancy test you took said you were indeed pregnant." Christine says

"Yeah." Natasha says

"Well let's ran some tests and see if it's true." Christine says

A couple tests later Natasha was back in the room and sat across Christine.

"All the tests we ran were also positive, so congratulations miss, you're expecting." Christine says

"Oh... And what happens now?" Natasha asks

"Well, we will schedule an ultrasound appointment for later in the pregnancy and if you need anything medically you can call me for advice or a check-up." Christine says

"And what about a test to see who is the baby's father?" Natasha says

"We could do that soon or when the baby is born, whatever you like." Christine says

"Okay, I'll think about it." Natasha says

"Great, now go home and take some rest, stress is bad for a baby." Christine says
