Example of a dotted line:

◆ First

▹Open up your pic or PNG in photoshop. 

◆ Second

▹You click on that tool I'm pointing to and on top of that, instead of path, please select shape.

◆ Third

▹I tend to choose the color first and the type of stroke I want. please make sure there's no fill.

◆ Fourth

▹Start tracing over the pic or PNG and when you're done tracing, right click and select "make Selection." Click ok.

◆ Fifth

▹select that tool and just click anywhere on the canvas.

and you're done.
