Hello everyone!

So this is basically just a reminder though not gentle, for everybody who are publishing content other than stories.

Wattpad is truly a useful tool for you to also spread awareness of some issues which is helpful at a degree and it keeps people updated and encouraged to learn more through news outlets and verified and true information on the internet. It's also a medium for spreading some love, encouragement and support to those you want to send these nice things to.

But here's the thing....

With news about current events in politics or the world in general,

First, please remember to verify the information you share, meaning you make sure it's true and also confirm its authenticity. Second, if you as a reader see some news or issue from this platform, go to other sources and confirm yourself. Go to reliable sources as well.

Now that that's out of the way, let's go to the other main topic for this chapter.

Books spreading any form of hate

I actually found many books here on Wattpad that are active on spreading hate. May it be hate on specific people or just people in general, race, sex, and religion. I won't be giving links to those books, you might find them on your own anyway or rather,  it's better that you don't find them.

Let's dive in a bit shall we?

I just want to remind you and many others that one can go so far. There are limitations and boundaries to certain things, there are lines you cannot cross even if you want to just so you can feed your hate and satisfy whatever negative emotion is playing in there. Have Respect as we all like to say and to have.

Let's take a little specific example where there's this book that is basically just encouraging discussions through a sort of forum. It's encouraging readers to use the comments section as a discussion forum for a topic in a chapter of the book. So the main topic was actually about questions that the writer wants to ask Christians and homophobes about homosexuality. A very sensitive, controversial, and wide topic. Reading the chapters, I could tell that the author is most probably a young teenager and they are playing with fire. They don't understand entirely what they are getting themselves into. 

Let's elaborate on that.

I do appreciate that the author is trying to address some issues and questions while showing support for the LGBTQA+ community. But then it was at the expense of attacking religion and bad-mouthing anything related to the bible and spirituality. 

How is it okay to hate on someone/something else while promoting "no hate and judgement"? Ironic isn't it? It's also hypocrisy. Saying one thing and doing a different thing. It's conflicting. 

Besides the author being immature in handling such issues, the book gained some people in the comments who spread hate on religious people. This is concerning because first of all, the irony of the book itself. Asking not to be hated then hating on others. Second, the author dared people to have a debate in one of their chapters which is not smart or rational. Fighting about such issue in this platform is not going to solve the issue anyway especially when you only want to be the right one.

And lastly, the hate on religion. I do understand where the author may be coming from because there really are these religious people condemning and hating others using the scripture and with twisted teachings. But not all religious people are like this.

Hating is never a solution to begin with so why? 

There's this thing called communication and rational discussion that does not need any tension, hate, or competition on who's right. Just a reminder, these kinds of sensitive issues are better discussed in a more mature manner and in the right place. 

You want a debate? It's better when it's face to face don't you think?

It's easy to be bold and spread hate online because people don't know who you are but it counts to spread truth and information with the intention of educating people, and encouraging them to be more rational and considerate. 

I'm sorry I can't provide the link since I also want to protect the author from some people out there who claim to be Christian but are hating and condemning people using the bible. The author might hate Christians even more if ever that an online attack happens. And again, I believe it's better that you don't find it, trust me.

And before you call me out for being biased myself for not sharing the link since you want the details, don't worry, I'm not doing this to prove that my opinion is right. This is not just a personal opinion anyway. I can assure you that I'm not making this up. You can just search all you want until you find it yourselves but I'm telling you, those kinds of books exists and are published here in Wattpad. I'm not sure if they're already taken down but go ahead and search them up with your keywords. 

I leave the choice to you.

Bottomline

Just in case you might be tempted, please don't use this platform to troll or spread hate, we already have a lot on the internet and it's stressful as it already is. And help remind other people too that being part of spreading such hate on the internet and carelessly handling any sensitive and controversial topic is damaging. 

Think of the younger ones who might also find that content. Let's not add to the raging problem of kids finding crap on the internet. Since we can't control them, what we can at least do is minimize posting loads of bulls***, or not post any of them at all. 

Never rely on your own understanding. Always seek for more knowledge, wisdom, rationality, and never get yourself into something you cannot handle because it can also pose danger to you and you can be vulnerable in so many ways when you are not prepared enough. And if you don't understand it.

Remember that there is a bigger picture to look at. Find that then analyze and understand if you have to because it can save you a lot from ignorance and carelessness. You will also be able to understand better when you carefully look at situations from different angles and from a wider perspective so please.
