The Harddeck
(I couldn't find any Bob Gifs.... So this is what ya'll get, Loll.)
An: not spell checked!
During TopGun: Maverick
"Who's that?" The female pilot, Phoenix, asks, causing Bob to look up.
"Oh," he says, flustered, brushing peanut dust off his lap.
"That, my friend, is a stealth pilot." The arrogant one, Hangman, says, smirking. Bob frowns.
"Actually, I'm a weapons systems officer." He says quickly, not wanting anyone to get ideas. Hangman sighs.
"With no sense of humor." He comments, returning his attention back too the pool table, leaving Bob confused.
"What do they call you?" Phoenix asks, leaning a bit on her pool- poll.
"B-Bob." The pilot stutters, pushing his glasses up his nose.
"No, I meant your callsign." Coyote says good- naturedly.
"Bob." He repeats. Phoenix's mouth drops open, and she points at him.
"Bob Floyd. You are my new back- seater?" She asks, and he shifts uncomfortably from all the attention.
"Y-yeah, it looks like it." He says, smiling.
"How come we didn't see you at the barracks?" The other WSO, Fanboy, asks.
"O-oh, I live off base with my wife." Bob says, his face brightening.
"Ah, a married man." Phoenix says, grinning. Bob nods.
"Y-yeah." He says, rubbing the back of his neck. Phoenix smiled at him, handing him her stick.
"Rack 'em, Bob." She says, smiling. He nods, quickly standing up and moving towards the pool table.

Kaleigh's POV
"Einstein!" I exclaim, pulling the full apple from my macaw's beak. "That's not for you!"
"'For me'!" He echos in my own voice, moving towards the next shopping bag, his clawed talon pulling at the plastic.
Bob and I got him as a baby, and now he is reaching a year and a half of age. He adores Bob, and tolerates me. I am usually the one reprimanding him, as Bob is too soft hearted.
"Come on, little guy." I say, holding my hand out too him. He steps up into my hand, his intelligence peering out at me through my eyes.
"Baby Bird!" He chirps, and I smile as I place him on his perch.
"Yes, baby bird." I comment, and he nips at my hand. "Hey, No biting!"
" 'No biting'!" Einstein echos joyfully, screeching happily.
"Punk." I say, laughing. I pull a cluster of Bananas out of one of the bags, glancing at the clock.
After putting Einstein in his enclosure, I grab my keys and make my way towards the front door.
The house is a small, military grade house, in far from the coast. We are a while from the beach, but we often get a nice ocean breeze. When have been here about a week, and Einstein is settling in nicely.
"Bye, Parrot!" I call, and I hear Einstein chirp back.
I pause at the door, staring at the wedding picture hung up on the wall. Bob hung it up the day we moved in, claiming it was the most important thing. I smile, running a hand over my prosthetic arm, before shutting the door.

I pull the car door closed, making sure it locks, before heading towards the Hard-deck. I smile, pulling open the door with my prosthetic hand. It's awkward, sure, but I need to practice a bit more before I get used to it.
I pause walking in, almost running into the back of a tall man in a Hawaiian shirt. I side-step past him, moving towards the back of the restaurant and towards the pool table, where a crowd of pilots in beige uniforms stand. They are laughing and talking, and it takes me a second to find my husband.
Bob is standing a bit of a ways away from the group of aviators, watching the multi- colored balls roll around the pool table.
I sneak up next to him, placing my left hand on his lower back. He smiles at me, looping an arm around my waist and pressing a kiss to my hair.
"How are you doing?" I ask, referring to how nervous he was earlier. He smiles.
"I'm actually doing okay." He says, his eyes rolling over the group. "They are actually.... Nice."
"Is this the lucky lady, Bob?" The woman pilot questions, giving me a kind smile.
"Hello." I say, shyly returning her smile. "I am Kaleigh."
"I'm Phoenix." She reaches out her right hand, and I take a deep breath before reaching out my prosthetic right hand to shake hers.
She doesn't shy away. Her eyes don't widen in surprise. She just shakes my hand, her smile never wavering.
As she introduces me to her friends, I glance at Bob from the corner of my eyes. He is smiling and nodding, but I see him slowly fading. Tiring.
He is an introvert: people drain him. I promise myself to have him out by eight, before turning my attention back to Phoenix.

"Come on, Babe." I exclaim, tugging his hand. He laughs, following me out to the car.
"I think you have had too much to drink." He says, giggling as I press a quick kiss to his lips.
"Nah, I'm great." I say, and he places a hand on my waist.
"Seriously, Kale. I'm driving." He says. I frown. He just smiles, kissing me again.
"I'm not planning on putting another ticket on your driving record." He says, opening the passenger door for me.
"What do you mean 'another'?" I say, laughing as he jogs around the front of the car.
"You know what I mean." He says. "It's my job to take care of you, and you are making it extremely difficult."
"I am not." I say, crossing my arms.
"There we go! Difficult." He says, and I grin, leaning towards him as he starts the engine.
"You love me." I say, and he smiles, grabbing my hand and running his thumb over my ring.
"I do." He admits, smiling at me, before pulling out of the parking space.
Fluff. Anyway, I'm glad to be on the TopGun: Maverick timeline now. It makes my life easier.
Until we meet again!
