*Chapter 14*
Winyárion landed gracefully upon the door steps of the Palace, only to be greeted by a pale-faced Tinnuel. Such a sight caused the Maia to worry.
"What is the matter, Tinnuel?" He inquired "you look as if you had seen one of Melkor's servants"
Slowly but surely, Tinnuel began to explain the situations that unfolded a few minutes earlier. Such caused Winyárion's starlit eyes to widen in shock.
"Such a situation should not be taken so lightly.." Winyárion sighed "yet let us go somewhere where our woes shall diminish"
"And where is that?" Tinnuel asked
"You shall see!" The Maia grinned "close your eyes"
The maiden did as she was told. With that, the Maia swooped the elleth off her feet and shot straight up into the air.
Within but a few minutes, they had landed upon a seemingly grassy field.
"Open your eyes" Winyárion said
Emerald eyes fluttered open, only to realize that she was in no field. She was in a garden, which had a variety of colour flowers that were of different size and shapes. Though what the elleth loved most was the tall trees that surrounded the garden. It was a beautiful sight indeed, for never had the elleth seen such a fair garden in her life.
"Where are we?" Tinnuel inquired
"We are in the Garden of Loríen, my friend" The maia smiled
Such a sight caused happiness to flow into her heart. She suddenly felt peace again. Without further ado, the elleth ran up a nearby tree and perched upon a branch.
"My... someone is excited" Winyárion chuckled as he followed.
"I am sorry.." Tinnuel laughed "I could not help it.."
A laugh parted from the maia's lips and he then joined the elleth atop of the tree.
"Beautiful, is it not?" Winyarion sighed as he gazed afar
"Indeed it is" The elleth responded "fairer than any garden I have seen in the East"
Curiosity then conquered the Maia's mind when the maiden mentioned the East, for never had he journeyed there.
"May I ask... what is your homeland like?" He inquired
"Well... it is fair indeed, for many tall trees shelter us from the sun and plants a variety of colour adorn the land" Tinnuel began "though what I love best are the festivals, for there is singing , dancing and more!"
As Tinnuel went on about her homeland, the elleth could not help but to feel slightly homesick, for she missed the laughter of her friends and the loving embraces of her family. It seemed that she did not mask her feelings well, for Winyarion's expression changed to that of concern.
"Tinnuel, are you okay?" Winyarion asked
"Y-yes, I am well" Tinnuel answered "just a bit...just a bit..."
It was then, the tears that were forming in her eyes began to pour down her face. The elleth couldn't keep it in anymore, she missed her home, she missed her family.
Winyarion pulled her into a warm embrace and began to stroke her hair lovingly.
"Let it out, young one" He cooed" let it out"
"I-I want to go home" Tinnuel sobbed into his chest "I want to see my friends and family again"
She then added:
"I'm scared, Winyarion...I'm scared that I will never go back home"
"You will go back home, Tinnuel" Winyarion assured "you will..."
"H-how do you know?" Tinnuel asked as she looked up at the Maia "what if I fail my tasks?"
"What tasks?" Winyarion asked
Realizing what she had done, Tinnuel let out a sigh and decided to explain the tasks that were giving to her by Earmire. She hoped that the spirit won't get too upset at someone knowing about her quest.
Upon listening attentively to the elleth's explanation, the Maia responded:
"That is a grievous task indeed, but it is not impossible to fulfill" Winyarion answered "there is indeed a solution to this"
"And what is that?" Tinnuel inquired
"Tie your horse and trust in Eru" Winyarion said
Tinnuel was quite puzzled at the statement, and it seemed that Winyarion noticed and continued to explain his answer:
"What I mean is that you try your best to do what you need to do, but when things are out of your hands, trust Eru, for He is the All Knowing and All Seeing."
"But what if everything falls apart? What if... What if..." Tinnuel sighed
Winyarion stroked the elleth's cheek and responded:
"I have seen many things in my life, little one" He explained "one thing I have concluded, is that Eru can make the impossible possible"
" Make the impossible possible..." Tinnuel repeated in her head.
Despite her anxiety, a spark of hope lit up in the elleth's heart. A small smile formed on her face as she pulled the Maia closer. As she did so, the elleth sent a silent prayer to Eru to help her break free from the chains of time.
