Tintin x reader: Christmas Surprise.

Hello! This idea came to me when I was looking at Tumblr posts on Pinterest and I thought that it was too adorable not to write! So, enjoy!

It was Christmas Eve in my beloved hometown. Every house was decorated in some fashion to show their festive holiday spirits or to try and outdo their neighbor in the yearly lights competition the city holds. My neighbor Mr. Timpleson has won the light show competition three years in a row. The only thing I can think when I walk by his house is, "Man, his energy bill must be sky high." And me? Well, I do get festive during the holidays, but the decoration is all in my house though. Seriously, my house looks like Buddy the Elf rampaged through the house with his Christmas cheer and paper snowflakes. It's one of my Christmas traditions I do every year. The one tradition that I started when I moved out of my (Parent/s) house is I would walk around town and observe the people as they did some last minute shopping or late night shifts.

I stroll down the sidewalk of (Hometown) as a light flurry of snow drifts through the night air. I smile as I sip a warm cup of hot chocolate and admire the beautiful scenery and the fantastic smells of the town. I decided that it was high time to head back home and snuggle into bed with my cat and watch A Christmas Story.

As I walk down the street, I see an old man laying down in an alley with barely anything to keep him warm. I know how bad the winters can get here, so I decided to spread some Christmas cheer. I walked into a nearby store and bought the following items: A hat, a scarf, clean socks, a pair of thick gloves, a large plush quilt, a few sandwiches, and to top it all off, a steaming cup of hot chocolate. I put the food into a little bag and added a little bow on top. I brought the items outside and walked straight to the man.

"Merry Christmas sir." I said as I handed him all of the items. He looked up at me in wonder and smiled. "Thank you very much! How could repay you?" He asked as tears ran down his face. "You don't need to do anything. Just a smile is enough for me." I said smiling at him. "You have a good heart. A rare thing nowadays. Good things will come your way, my dear. I'm certain of it." He said with a sweet smile as he patted my hand. "The same will happen with you. Merry Christmas." I said as I stood up and left.

"Hey Tigress. I'm home!" I called out to my cat as I shut the door behind me and took off my boots. I felt Tigress rub against my leg and purr as I took off my coat and scarf. I looked down to see my beautiful Belgian Bangal cat with beautiful green eyes stare up at me. "Hey there kitty. How are you doing?" I asked as I gently scratched behind her ear. She just purred some more and walked to the kitchen, demanding food. "Alright. I'll feed you. Then we can snuggle together and watch some Christmas movies. How's about we start with Home Alone?" I asked as I poured some cat food into her bowl. She guzzled it down while I went upstairs and got changed into an oversized T-shirt and a pair of sweatpants.

I went back downstairs and grabbed a few Christmas cookies I got from my neighbor Mrs. Mulch. They were sugar cookies made to perfection. They were light and fluffy with the perfect amount of colored icing. After grabbing the cookies and a glass of milk, I made my way to the livingroom. I stopped for a moment to turn off the lights and settle on the couch with my thick comforter wrapped around my legs. Tigress hopped on the couch with me and snuggled into my stomach.

When I moved out of my (Parent/s) house and into my own, I would sleep on the couch near my Christmas tree during the week because I had always loved the soft, comforting light that radiated from the tree and all around the room since I was a child. I guess you never really grow up when you're an adult. I clicked on my TV and turned on A Christmas Story. After a few more movies, such as The Nightmare Before Christmas, Polar Express, How The Grinch Stole Christmas, and Elf, I saw a movie I had always loved since I was a kid. The Adventures of Tintin.

Ever since I first watched it, I was absolutely in love with the characters and the silly situations they got themselves into. After I found out that the movie was based on a comic series, I immediately went searching for the books. A dear aunt of mine had gotten me the full volume set for Christmas one year and I would spend hours just reading and rereading my favorite adventures. I will confess, I had a crush on the adventuresome boy. I still do. In the books he is kind, honest, intelligent, and a true gentleman. More than I can say about some of the guys my age around here.

I put the movie in and settled on the couch with a childish grin on my face. At the scene where the Captain is giving Tintin a talk about not giving up, I began to doze off. I looked up at my Christmas tree and the snow falling outside the window and smiled. "As silly as it is, it would be amazing if Tintin was real. He would be the perfect companion. As a friend or a boyfriend, it would be amazing. And I'm sure you'd get along with Snowy. I know how friendly you are with dogs." I said to the sleeping feline purring on my stomach. "It would be amazing to go on crazy adventures with him. Get a little excitement in life. I wish he was real." I whispered as I finally drifted off into sleep.

~~ The Next Morning ~~

The smell of eggs and bacon woke me up from my very pleasant sleep. (Parent) must have come a little early to make me some breakfast. I grabbed my phone and checked the time. 9:30 a.m. Wait a minute. (Parent) usually comes to visit later, and I live alone. WHO THE HELL IS IN MY KITCHEN?! I quickly but quietly stood up from the couch. I went to my purse and grabbed my pepper spray, ready to take down anyone and anything.

I silently walked to my kitchen, pepper spray ready. I peeked out from behind the wall to see a person at the stove. I quietly went around the corner with the spray out in front of me. I took a moment to study the person. It was a man, a bit taller than me. He wore a light blue sweater and brown pants. His hair was a ginger color with a small tuft sticking up near the forehead. He was humming a tune I couldn't recognize as he cooked. He turned his head as he grabbed a few ingredients, but not enough for him to notice me. He had rosy cheeks and a button nose. He had a soft smile on his face as he cooked. Then it hit me. The clothes, the hair, the face. Oh my goodness. This is him. It's THE Tintin! I was flabbergasted to say the least. I dropped my arms in shock. Along with the pepper spray.

It fell with a loud clatter. I froze in place, barely breathing as he stopped what he was doing and turned around. My breath truly stopped when I looked into his stormy gray eyes. They reminded me of the sea during a raging thunderstorm. So fierce and yet so kind and gentle at the same time. His face looked just like it did in the movie. His smile turned into a grin as he saw me. "Oh, you're awake. I made breakfast for you. I hope you like omelets and bacon." He even sounded like he did in the movie. He placed the plates on the preset table that I had barely noticed. I immediately tried to tame the wild mane on top of my head and straighten myself out as best as I could. "Oh, don't worry about that. You look adorable." He said with a childish grin.

"Am I still dreaming?" I asked myself in a whisper. "You're not dreaming. Come and eat before it gets cold." He said with a smile. I swiftly slapped my face, causing my cheek to flare up in pain. Tintin's face contorted into a confused and concerned expression as he swiftly came to me. "What on Earth are you doing? Why would you do that to yourself?" He asked as he gently turned to see the damage I did to myself. "I had to make sure I wasn't dreaming." I said in a whisper. He shook his head with a smile. "Try not to do it again for my sake. Now, come and eat." He said as he calmly guided me to my seat and pulled out the chair.

I sat down and he pushed me in before taking a seat himself. The omelet looked like something out of a food magazine. And it smelled amazing too. I immediately started eating. "This is amazing. Where did you learn to make this?" I asked between bites. "I learned when I was young. And with practice, I got better at it." He said eating his. As we ate, I noticed a bright red Christmas bow on the side of his head with a little note on it. I gently took it off and held it in my hand. "What's this?" I asked quirking an eyebrow in amusement. "You might want to read it." Was all he said as he drank from his glass of milk. I eyed the note skeptically but read it anyway.

Dear (Y/n),

Because of your kindness throughout the years, Christmas or not, I've decided that it was time to grant your greatest wish. Merry Christmas.

~Mr. C.

P.S. I sent a few friends along with him. You'll see them soon.

I smiled in amazement. "Is this for real?" I asked. Tintin smiled at me. "As real as you are Darling." When he called me Darling, it made my heart flutter. "So, you're real?" I asked. "Yes." He said gently. "Along with the Captain and the Professor? And Snowy too?" I asked. "Yes. Snowy is playing with the cat somewhere and the others will be here later for the Christmas party. I hope you don't mind." He said as he cleared the table of our now empty plates.

"No, it's fine. But how did you know about the party?" I asked. He pointed to the whiteboard on the fridge. "It says it right there. Plain as the nose on your face." He said booping my nose, causing me to blush and giggle. "Alright, this is great and all, but how do I explain this to my family?" I asked seriously. My family would think that I've really gone insane if I told them that the handsome man in my house was my favorite fictional character that was given to me as a Christmas gift.

"Don't worry about that love. I have it all planned out. You just have to relax and enjoy yourself. Now go get dressed while I clean up here." He said giving my forehead a peck before turning to the sink and starting on the dishes. I stood there in shock before turning and heading to my room and getting dressed.

~~Time skip~~

With Tintin's help, we got everything set up for the party fairly quickly. But I still couldn't get rid of the nervous feeling that I had. My family knew about Tintin from my somewhat obsessive ramblings about the comics and the number of times I've watched the movie on Netflix. How was I going to explain how a fictional character is in my house as if it's completely normal?

"(Y/n)? Are you alright? Is there something you forgot to do before the party?" Tintin asked with his hand on my shoulder. "No. I'm fine." I said trying to hide my internal panic. "I've been around enough people in my lifetime to know when someone is hiding something. And I know you're keeping something from me. Is it about your family?" He asked looking me in the eye. I sighed knowing it was useless to try and hide it. "How am I going to explain this? My family knows about you because of my ramblings about you when I was younger. And the number of times I've watched your movie." I said tugging at my hair a bit.

Tintin smiled and took my hands from my hair and held them. "How about this, we make up a story about how we met. I'm sure that's going to be the first thing that they ask." He leads me to the couch and sat beside me, still holding my hands and tracing shapes with his thumbs.

"Where would you usually be during your free time?" He asked.

"Usually at the bookstore or the art museum," I answered. "I usually go there for inspiration."

"Alright. Let's say that I met you at the museum. You were admiring a piece and I saw you and couldn't take my eyes off of you." He said with a smile. I nodded in agreement. "Great. Now that we have that settled, let's relax for a bit." He said kissing my hand, causing me to go redder than the Santa hat I wore.

"Wait a minute, where's Snowy?" I asked looking around the couch. I was answered when Snowy leaps into my lap with a happy bark before he begins to lick my face. "Ah! Snowy! No licking!" I saw that Snowy had a cute little bow around his neck. "That reminds me, we got to dress festively! I've got an extra Christmas sweater in the closet for you." I said darting to the closet. I look through the coats until I pulled out a light blue sweater with white snowflakes on it. "It's way too big for me, but it might fit you. If not, I can fix it up." I said with a smile as I held it up. Tintin took it from my hands and went to the bathroom to change. I went to my room and got into my Santa dress with black leggings and flats to match.

I walked back out and saw Tintin sitting on the couch in the sweater petting the cat. It fit him perfectly and he looked good in it. "She seems to like you. She isn't very cuddly with most people." I said walking in. He looked up at me and grinned. "How do I look?" I asked twirling in a circle. "You look amazing. Perfect for the Christmas party." He said standing up and twirling me around, making me giggle. "Thank you. I'm going to put on some music. Get the holiday cheer going." I hooked up my phone to the radio and played my Christmas playlist.

The first song to play was Jingle Bell Rock. I smiled and tapped my foot to the beat. "May I have this dance?" Tintin asked holding his hand out for me. I grinned as I took it and he pulled me to him. We stayed from side to side with the beat. I couldn't help but giggle as we danced and sang along with the music. As the song ended, the doorbell rang. "I got it!" I said as I ran to the door. I opened it to see my parents and younger brother along with my aunt, uncle, and cousins. "Hi everyone! Come on in! Hang up your coats and warm up. I've got snacks in the kitchen if you get hungry." I said as I gave them all hugs and kisses their cheeks. "Hey (Y/n), who's this guy?" I hear my 12-year-old brother ask. I look to see Tintin standing there with his hands behind his back.

"Everyone, this is..." I hesitated, "Agustin. But everyone calls me Tintin." He finished for me as he held his hand out to my brother. "I've heard wonderful things about you." My brother took his hand and stared at Tintin with a slight glare. "You hurt my sister and I'll kick you right into next week." He said. Tintin smiled with a chuckle. "I have no intention of doing that. And I have no doubt that you could." He said. I chuckled at them and rolled my eyes.

Tintin introduced himself as he helped everyone with their coats and their gifts. As he chatted with everyone, the doorbell rang again. This time he opened it. "Merry Christmas my boy!" I heard a gruff voice shout cheerily. I look up to see Captain Archibald Haddock himself with a bottle of apple cider. Behind him was Professor Calculus with a few presents in his hands. And behind them where the detectives Thompson and Thomson nearly dropping their gifts.

The Captain noticed me and grinned. "So this is the lass you've been rambling on about on the phone. Archibald Haddock at your service." He said taking off his cap and kissing my hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you. And thank you for bringing the apple cider." I said taking the bottle from his hand. "You're welcome." He said putting his cap back on. The Professor set the gifts aside and took my hand in his. "My, what a beautiful young lady you are! And such a kind hostess as well." He said and kissed my hand. I giggled and blushed. "Thank you very much. Make yourselves at home. Everyone will be in the living room." I said pointing to the living room. Thompson and Thomson set their gifts down. "A pleasure to meet you, madam," Thomson said taking my hand and giving it a kiss. "To be precise, a true pleasure," Thompson said as he did the same. "Thank you. Come on in and enjoy yourselves. There's food in the kitchen and hot chocolate ready." I said shutting the door.

A few more family members and friends arrived and brought food and gifts for everyone. I smiled as I looked around at everyone. The Captain sat in a chair with the children all around him and my youngest cousin in his lap, telling stories of his adventures at sea and with Tintin. The Professor was having a discussion on physics with another cousin of mine, and the Thompsons playing Mombo with the children using their canes. I heard the doorbell ring once again. I went and opened the door. I was bombarded by a large person dressed in red. "Ah! What a lovely little house!" A flamboyant voice sang. I knew exactly who this was. Madame Bianca Castafiore.

"And you must be the young lady Tintin was talking about! I've heard many wonderful things about you." She said as she took my face in her gloved hands. "What a beautiful face! A wonderful shade of (s/c), bright (e/c) eyes, plump lips, and beautiful (h/c) hair! A true vision of beauty." She said as she turned my head side to side, pointing out my features. "Thank you, Miss Bianca. Let me take your coat and you can join everyone in the living room." I said holding my hand out. "Now now, Irma can take care of that. Irma! Hang up my coat and bring in the gifts!" She sang as she slid off the fur coat. "You didn't have to bring any gifts," I said when I saw the train of brightly wrapped presents. "Oh don't give it a thought! I wanted to make sure everyone got something from me." She said sauntering to the living room.

"Merry Christmas everyone!" She sang with her arms wide open. Everyone replied back to her with the same greeting. Except for the Captain. I heard him give an exasperated groan. The train of gifts made its way to the Christmas tree and piled the presents around it.

"Ah! Captain Brannock! It's just wonderful to see you again!" She said as she walked to the Captain and gave him a kiss on the cheek, causing the children around him to either gag or tease the Captain. "Oh really? Maybe you'll get the next kiss." He said with a smile, making the children squeal and laugh as they ran away, not wanting to be kissed. I laughed as the kids ran past me and I ruffled their hair as they did so.

I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist from behind me. I looked up to see Tintin's head on my shoulder. I smiled and leaned my head against his. "What are the children running from now?" He whispered in my ear. I giggled as I answered. "They didn't want to receive a smooch from Miss Bianca." He chuckled and lead me to the couch. We sat down next to each other and he pulled me closer to him, cuddling me.

"How did you two meet each other?" My aunt asked. I was about to answer when Tintin spoke. "We met at the art gallery. I was wandering around when I saw her admiring Van Gogh's Starry Night. She was so beautiful, I thought she was an art piece. I walked up to her and said, 'Out of all the works of art in this room, you by far are the loveliest.'" I blushed as everyone aww'd at us. "I asked her if she wanted to join me for lunch, and she said yes. We exchanged numbers and scheduled another date. We've been dating ever since." he said hugging me closer.

"What do you do for a living?" my mom asked. "Investigative Journalism. He goes where trouble is and does his best to help. He's actually solved a few cases before the police could." I said leaning my head on his shoulder. "You must get worried, not knowing when he gets back or where he runs off to." My grandma said shrewdly. I shrugged. "I'm perfectly fine with it grandma. The only thing I question about him is how he doesn't have brain damage," I said turning to Tintin. "I mean seriously, how many times have you been hit on the head or drugged? I've lost count with you." I said teasingly. He rolls his eyes at me. "I have no idea what you're talking about." He said teasingly.

Soon it was time for dinner and thanks to the food everyone brought and Tintin's help. Everyone chatted as they ate and enjoyed themselves with stories of their year and what they were thankful for. Then it was time to open presents. The majority of presents were expensive gifts from Miss Bianca, but there were a few gifts exchanged between family members. And of course, Snowy got a little dog bone. I just sat on the couch, quietly watching as everyone smiled and laughed at each other. I felt the couch dip beside me and I turned to see Tintin with a little box in his hand.

"Merry Christmas Darling." He said handing me the box. I opened it up to see a beautiful necklace with a (birthstone) on it. "It's beautiful Tintin. I'm sorry I don't have one for you though." I said with a frown. "No need to worry about that, love. Just look up." He said glancing above our heads. I looked up to see mistletoe being held above our heads by my brother. "Really (B/n)?" I asked lifting an eyebrow. "Just hurry up and kiss him already!" He said giggling. I rolled my eyes and looked back at Tintin. "You asked him to do this, didn't you?" I teased. He just grinned before leaning in and kissing me. I immediately kissed him back. The kiss was sweet and he tasted like peppermint. We both pulled away and rested my forehead on his. "You are by far the greatest gift I could ever ask for." I whispered to him. "You are too." He said.

Merry Christmas my little beans!! Hope you enjoyed this chapter. This is my gift to you all!!
