I wrote a story about why February has 28 days in it's month.

     Once apon a time it was a bright and sunny day. The weatherman had said it would be dark and stormy. Unfortunately, for this particular story, the weatherman was wrong. Ruining the, almost perfect, dramatic setting.

     As I was saying, once apon a time it was a bright and sunny day. February was walking through the park. She walked down to the beach nearby her house, were she sat down by the shore. She took off her sandals and let the waves engulf her feet.

     THUNK

     February rubbed her head were a bump was forming. She looked around and found a acorn resting in the sand next to her. She looked around and saw a squirrel sitting on the top of a pile of rocks near her, holding some acorns.

     Infuriated, February acted without thinking and climbed up the mound of rocks. The squirrel sat there, cocking it's head curiously as February tried to climb up the mound of rocks. February reached out to grab the squirrel, just as the rock she had her foot on slipped.

     *Some time later*

     February awoke in a hospital bed.

     "Good. February your awake. You lost a lot of days from a cut in your stomach. Luckily, some other months where able to donate you some of their days, but you are still short.", Dr. October told her, reading off of a clipboard, "But there is still something we were wondering? What in the world were you doing, climbing Rocky Ridge?"

     Embarrassed, February mumbled, "Chasing a squirrel..."

     Dr. October looked at her with a questioning gaze before he walked out of the room, "You are free to go now."

     But, unfortunately for the 12 months (the only current habitants of Earth) Mayans suddenly appeared in a beam of light. They found the months and used a magic staff to beam them into a rock, creating the first calendar.

     Each month had 30 or 31 days except for February, who had 28. Because Mayan officials were perfectionists, they tried making February have 30 days like the rest. The other Mayans didn't like that, but they came to an agreement and let February have 29 days every 4 years.

     So thats why February has 28, sometimes 29, days.
