"No, when I sleep I go into this world that looks like ours but no people at times and it looks like a horror movie." "Oh, that sounds like a ton of fun Eric." "Heh, I know but I'm being for real. What if we lay beside each other and hold hands. Maybe as it happened out there, I can pull you into my world." "I mean...That could work. I mean if it did then why not now?" "See there you go!" I smile and pull her up. "Alright alright! I will do it even if It doesn't work. I could go for some sleep." I laugh out and pull her into a hug. I held her tight, I was scared of what was going to happen. Will it work, will it be worse? So many questions and fears rush through me. "You just going to hold me or are we going to try this?" I jumped back and let her go with a smile coming up my face. "Yeah, let's see if this works." I could feel my face getting warm. I rub the back of my neck and lead her to my bedroom. I could feel my face getting more red and hot by the second. "What side do you want?" She asked me as she walked over to my bed. "Oh, uh I will lay on the left side." "Alright, let's get this done with.." She said as she laid down and laid her hand beside her waiting for me. I slowly get into the bed and lay beside her, I hesitate before I take her hand into mine. She held my hand tight and I smiled holding it just as tight back. "You're not going to let go right?" She asked me as she closed her eyes. "No, I would never let you go. Don't let me go alright?" She nodded her head. I sigh and closed my eyes. I heard her breathing slow. I relaxed my body and slowly I went into my dream world.
I felt hot air, my lips were dry and my eyes hurt even without them opening. "Eric?" I snap my eyes open to see Olivia. "What in the world is happening? Why is it so hot?" "You're asking me things I can't answer. Were in your hell of a dream or whatever." I looked around where we are to see it looks like the front of my apartment building. But everything looks old and broken down. Like everything has been sitting in the same spot for years and years on end. "So got any idea what is happing?" "What? Oh, no the dreams never make sense at all. At times like this one, it's not even in the place I was." "Well, that's a lot of help Eric! Why did I come in here?" "Olivia, please calm down-" "Don't tell me to calm down Eric! Do you know what it's like..." I move my head to look at her. "Do I know what is like?" "What it's like to feel lost, alone, and just confused and scared." I frow my eyebrows. "You have to be joking right? I have been on my own this whole time! Alone and lost to what is happing. Scared about why this is happing or what is coming. Confused as to why it is me! Do you think you are the only one? It's happing to me for God's sake!" I snap out at her. She jumps and looks down. "Know what, I'm done." I turn and start to walk down the broken and twisted road. "What do you mean you're done? You can just leave-" "I can! It's my hell of a dream after all!"
"Dumb so dumb! I should have never told her. Why would she believe me or why would she even care! I mean she can see it and she does believe me but...Just doesn't understand." I let out a low sigh and slid down the brick building. This is all just so confusing and frustrating. I sat there for what felt like days. The time was slow or stuck. I mean it always has been. But having someone or well-knowing someone is here moving with me makes it feel even more real. I leaned my head up against the wall. It felt cold for some reason. The air was hot thought how could it be cold. Not just cold it felt like ice. "Eric?" I hear from my left. I turn and see Olivia standing there. "Olivia!" I get up and run to her pulling her into a hug. "I'm so sorry! I was an Ass!" She hugged my back with a smile. "Yeah you were but I was as well. You had a reason to be an ass though I didn't." I chuckle at her, "Yeah you did I mean. You were thrown into this all of this mess. Your gonna be so very confused and just scared." "You got that right. But hey I got you and as long as I'm not alone and you aren't then this is ok. Speaking of alone." She punched me in my arm, "What the hell?!" "That's for leaving me alone in this place!" "Ah dang. Well, maybe you shouldn't have yelled at me." I say back at her with a smirk. Her face goes red and if any redder stem would have most definitely come out of her ears. "Alright, I'm sorry for being mean hitting you." "I am also sorry for being mean and leaving you." "So it's a truth?" "Yeah, It's a truth, Olivia." "Good now, can we please go back? I feel like we're being watched or something."
"Being watching?" I ask with a raised eyebrow. "Yeah, I don't know I just feel off. Can we please just go?" "Yeah sorry uh come on let's get to a more out-of-the-way area first." I reach down and take her by the hand not wanting her to feel or think I'm going to leave again. "Why can't we do it here?" "You feel were being watched one and two better to be out of the way from anything that might be here." "What have you seen?" I stop in my steps taken back from what she was asking me. "What I have seen?" I repeat her question out loud. "Yeah, like people or monsters?" I grip her hand thinking if I wanted to tell her. If I do it could care for her or maybe it could help her. Not sure how much maybe make the fear of unknowing go away and replaced with a fear of them knowing. I guess it could be better to fear the knowing than fear the unknowing. "I'm not sure telling you while being here is a good idea. How about when we get out?" I turn to her with a small smile and I could feel the sweat going down my face. She looked annoyed and then worried. She took a look at the ground and let out a long yet laughing sigh. "Yeah, if I'm being honest with you I don't think I wanna know right now." "That's what I thought you would say." I turn back and lead us down the street making sure I keep my eyes scanning from one dark corner to the next. While I am still confused about what in the hell is happing. I know for sure that something if not one or more is watching. Watching from afar or watching from just around the corner.
"People were right when they called you weird," Olivia says out of no were. "What in the world are you talking about?" "People at school always thought you were weird in a way. Not the ew this guy is weird but the oh he seems off or something." "Well, I wish they told me that so I could have thought of this happing to me." "You think your funny don't you Eric?" "Oh please! I am a five-star comedian love! I tell the best jokes." "I can also see you very cocky." "Is my zipper down?" "Eric!" "Alright alright! Sorry just trying to make light of this dark time." I laugh out and rub a tear from my eye. "I know I'm sorry just worried." "About what?" "About what? Are you blind? Look around us, look around you! Every time you sleep you go into a new hell where you could die or get hurt. You can bring people with you and the best part is you don't know how or why this is happing! I mean what if it's a sign it's the end of the world? What if the things you see are coming for us! What if-" "Olivia! Calm down getting all worried and scared out of your mind is not going to help you or me." I grabbed both her hands and held them tight. "Now take a deep breath and slowly let it out." "Eric-" "If you wanna go home I would." She sighed and did what I asked. "Now again and again until you are calm." We did this for a little while just trying to catch our thoughts.
When I open my eyes I'm back in my room laying on my bed. But I was facing Olivia now and holding both her hands. "Woah..." I whisper out. "What's going on?" I heard Olivia ask as she slowly opened her eyes. "Well, we're not dead." She sat up slowly and looked around and lastly at me. "Were back?" "Yeah and I'm not sure how." I sit up with her now. "How in the hell did we get back? We didn't run or hide or anything just breathed." "Calmness." "What?" I look at her with a confused look. "Calmness. You can control how to get back. You have to clear your mind and be calm."
