9. Snape Helps Adora
Rumour has it Malfoy was back at home in their family mansion. A sickness bug quickly made the heir experience a nightmare.
Those confident and experienced in magic will sometimes undergo a magical glitch. A glitch which shifts their entire physical appearance turning them into something so disgusting, no one shall witness the bug. Codes can be so ridiculous that it's hilarious. Bad luck was bound to happen to the second heir but when wasn't clear.
I was going to pack an emergency bag so that I could go visit. Though admittedly, my appearance, might be one that is well liked, it's good to show moral support especially when someone doesn't have any.
"I can't believe you're going to the Malfoy mansion," says Ginny, sighing.
It's been a week since my first letter was sent.
A week since Draco Malfoy has been absent from boarding school. That takes a lot of guts, especially when there are a lot of students who like to lie, about someone's reasonings for being gone. I had a slight inkling of what would solve this before it turns into a scandal of its own. Reputations have a lot of meaning in our world, I wasn't going to have someone's be ruined, because I made a stupid comment.
Hermione makes a suggestion. "You need company -- I'll go undercover."
I ignore the comments continuing to pack my carry on. The carry on was my knitted bag (made by my Ma) with a spell extending the depth. Who knows that a spell could be a lifesaver? There was no way in which I would travel without some of my favourite essentials.
My little sister was becoming a little sister. "Adora! Stop ignoring us!"
The only thing that stopped my urgency in movement was being knocked by one of my pillows. Who threw it? Take a wild guess, a little sister, who was in a sour mood because I was ignoring them.
"Ginny! Stop being such a brat!" I snapped, keeping my voice down. "Draco helped me be cured, and I will do the same for him. He's got no support in this!"
Hermione stayed out of the bickering, after years spent in our home, there are learned lessons that come with it. Don't get involved was the number one rule.
"No support?! His father got me cursed by Voldemort might I remind you!"
"Ma doesn't like you using his name; so don't!" I warned.
"Oh you're not Ma so who cares! Voldemort thrives off fear; idiot."
"Get out, and leave me the hell alone! I don't need people nitpicking in my ear."
My little sister looks as if she was going to strangle me. No one was a fan of being reminded who was the eldest, but it happens, and it comes in handy whenever you need it. Ginny gets off my bed and storms out the room and was sure to slam the door behind her. She can go cool down before I see her.
"I'm going to see if she's okay," whispers Hermione, taking herself out the room. "You need time alone."
"Don't tell me what I need!" I shout. "You not my sister so back out of it!"
Hermione's face fell becoming more and more in a pout as her emotions get the best of her. My friend didn't say anything instead choosing to leave the room, before she says anything bad in return. Our first argument right before I was to leave; how wonderful.
No one had any inkling of how hard this situation, was on it's heirs, so no one, was able to give their thought in it. I was sick of people telling me: how to handle it or what I should think. I'm the one risking everything to fix my own mistakes. Awareness wasn't an understatement. It was something that was constantly on my mind while I tried to find the cure.
Maybe, I was alone too. The support network around me was shrinking into a small number which in itself was bad.
The Malfoy mansion was only going to be a pitstop. I was going to make it the half-way mark in my journey towards the guild. The guild knows how to break these spells. Why should it be more complicated than it needs to be? I won't take anyone's voices on the matter, because everybody would try and stop me.
My belongings are all packed.
It was time to leave.
#################
As I try to say goodbye, my family ignore me, focusing on Ginny instead who was crying in the common room. No one was acknowledging me being here. I guess it didn't matter if I left, or not, because no one would be sad to see me go.
I made my way over to the secret passage way, making sure no one saw, if I snuck away behind the sealed door.
I didn't want to leave on a sour note; but sacrifices, have to be made for the cures to work. Honestly, if it were up to me, I would stay to fix this, though it's going to take up a lot of the time and there wasn't a lot left. I have to get there and back without being seen and I couldn't be sidetracked.
#################
My speed was done in caution making sure I don't have an injury.
The tunnel was tight meaning you have to be sure of your whereabouts before taking any further. Wouldn't it be a cruel fate for someone to be travelling through, on the other side of it, and crushing us both in a pickle. I don't need to go through the what-ifs. This wasn't the right moment to have them circling inside my mind; I need a pure thought-cycle.
Thoughts are the most important puzzle piece; you have to be genuine, in what is said, and how it's done. That's a lot of energy which is going to be stolen.
I pause, when I reach, the last part of the passage way, and clap to turn on the magical lights. The lights flicker on leading the way through and to its exit. I was able too quick my pace ending this short trip, and head towards my final destination: the dungeons.
The exit was finally here. On the other side of the hall, was a knight, which was to be moved in order for one to enter or escape. I never gave much energy towards how to escape the tunnel. Answers aren't direct in this wing in the castle. You have to use your Slytherin traits in order to figure them out.
I scan the area trying to find those answers. The main things I was trying to spot are: ink, unusual bricks, leavers, and words. A small leaver was on the inside of the door, which I pulled, and pushed forward opening the door.
Sometimes the slightest of trigger can hold the magic back. I took a step back to not stop, or trigger, the knight, in order to keep the motion in moving forward. The knight was bowing letting me know to wait a few seconds before going on the move once more.
Outside of the passage way, revealed a Professor, one known for his sarcasm and cunning behaviours: Professor Snape. He was awaiting for my arrival.
"Miss. Weasley... "
"Professor."
"I shall be your companion to the Malfoy Mansion."
