Why would Lucinda have a party for Halloween, the night before Halloween?
I've asked her that questions so many times that it's sad.
Every single time she responds with some excuse like:
"Oh, Katelyn! It's a Witch tradition! Passed down from generations of witchcraft users!"
Or
"Because on Halloween I want to be free to hex some peeps! It'll be fun! If you wanna come, just bring your own broomstick, I only have one."

i will admit, flying around on an enchanted broomstick is pretty fun...

I plopped on my vampire costume and was about to head out of my house when my dad stopped me.

"sugarpea wait!" he cried after me.

"what now?!"

"Don't forget, no boys, boys are gross!"

"Dad, you are one!"

"no, I'm a MAN not a BOY."

"Whatever...." I huffed as i jogged down the street towards Lucinda's place.

When i got there i was shocked to discover that there were no cars in the driveway, maybe i was on time for once! I walked up to the door and rang the doorbell. I heard a loud crash from inside followed by a bunch on giggles and a boy's voice shout "I'll get it!".

The door swung open to reveal none other that the person I least wanted to see.

"Blueberry!" The devil of a guy shouted in disbelief.

I grabbed Jeffory by the neck and wrung it until he surrendered. I walked past him and into the house and stormed up to Lucinda, who was still giggling.

"why is HE here?!" I shouted.

"Because! He's my boyfriend!" She laughed.

My eyes widened in shock.

"But more on that later, come out back, I want to show you something!" Before i could reply, I was grabbed by the wrist and dragged out to the backyard.

"beautiful evening, right?!" she shouted louder than was needed, it was kind of obvious what was to happen next. A bunch of people from my school and friends from back home jumped out covered in glitter and starting shouting "surprise!"

I just grinned, she hadn't forgotten my birthday after all. 

A girl covered in flashing purple glitter ran over and rammed into me with a wolf of a hug.

"Aphmau?! Is that really you?!"

"You bet!" she giggled and pulled back so I could look at her. Her amber eyes shined in the moonlight, her black and purple tail swished behind her, her ears twitched as a light breeze blew through the yard.

"It's so great to see you!"

"Same to you! I've missed you so much!"

"How's Aaron?"

"Why don't you ask him yourself?" She stepped aside to reveal a tan muscular hunk of a werewolf crouching behind her. 

"Hey! I'm not THAT short!" she huffed and pulled him up to her side where his true height was revealed.

"Wow! You've grown Aaron!" I grinned.

"No, not really...." he laughed.

"wow, I get it now Aph....." We all laughed.

This was gonna be a fun night.
