I couldn't stop thinking about what Katelyn had said the night before, since when were we "pals"? was this an act so it wasn't awkward for Luca? Since when did she have a girlfriend? Was this the end of the hunt? As I was walking to school that morning, everything changed. I was lost in my thoughts when something slammed full force into my chest and i tumbled to the ground, my backpack spilling out onto the sidewalk. I looked up to see a girl, she looked like a junior, her dark, curly hair fell into tight ringlets that perfectly framed her face. I saw sweat on her brown forehead, and tears streaming from her brown eyes.

"Hey, are you okay?" I asked her.

"Yeah, you? I'm so sorry I ran into you!" she cried.

"No, it's fine. Why are you crying?"

"I'm just worried, that's all... Excuse me..." she stood up and started to run away.

"What's the big rush?" I called after her, she stopped mid stride.

"My best friend is missing...." she started to break down. I quickly got up and rushed to her side.

"Who? Do I know her?"

"Her name is Katelyn, she has light blue hair and blue eyes..."

"Hey, I know Katelyn!"

"You do?!"

"Yeah! I knew I had seen you somewhere!" I recognized her from the party!

"Were you at her surprise party?"

"Yes! She seemed fine yesterday, what happened?"

"I'm not sure, she seemed fine to me too, but she left me this cryptic note!"

The girl handed me the note and I started to sweat.

Teony, if you are reading this, that means I'm dead, or, at least that's what I want people to think. There is a boy at our school with white hair and emerald green eyes, please find him and give this to him after you read it. I have decided to hide myself away for the time being, and the explanation for this choice is too complicated for me to try to explain in a small note. I hope you can understand that in my circumstances, just know you would have done the same thing. I truly meant no harm, but I knew that you would miss me either way.
